I guess the ones that engage in this sort of periodic updates (another one is @Coin-1 ) greatly underestimate the amount of commitment and work necessary to keep a thread lively updated.

I do not underestimate, I would like to make some improvements and at the moment I have little availability. So I end up trying to postpone it to see if I can make the improvements. But calmly we will do it.

I think they are all to be congratulated for the weekly/monthly effort they make to present us with this data!

THANK YOU ALL.

Thank you Rikafip for the latest statistics and congratulations to Nigeria for getting their own board they deserve.

We are very hopeful soon Pakistan will get their own board too.

Thank you for showing us love and extending your happiness to our achievement with the local board. Your country deserve to get one too because your activities are high also. Maybe theymos will grant it before Christmas. You and your country men should not give up.

Only the data associated to the Merits on their respective threads (no data on posts nor merit per post):
https://public.tableau.com/shared/ZNFWJ4DKD?:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link

The above data figures on the "Local Language Thread" tab, alongside the main local language thread’s Merit data. Here too, if any local language happens to have more than one thread (the Nigerian local board had a few threads there), then I’d only be tracking the main thread.

I’ve altered the path structure of the posts I’ve already got, that now conform the Nigerian local board. The Merit Dashboard now displays the data in the local board structures, as opposed to the local thread structure.
Awesome, thanks!

I just updated the merit senders/receivers chart so now data for Nigerian board is included as well. I guess you don't have that data for Pakistan and Bangladesh, or maybe you do and I was somehow unable to find it?

We also managed to rank in the top 6 in the merit distribution data, which has increased compared to the previous month where we were ranked 9th. It is difficult to maintain this position, but as far as I have observed our local board is still the most active compared to several other local board.
What matters more than position is the actual number of merits shared and that's where you performed very good and now you are at the very decent merit/post ratio. I mean, don't you agree that its better to be 6th with ~600 merits than 3rd with 400?

As a matter of fact, when you look at top 6 and compare it with last month, only Italian (had a very strong increase of activity) and Indonesian changed the spots.
That's right mate, there was a slight change that occurred during the month of November where the number of posts made in that time period decreased compared to the previous month, it has caused our position to drop one rank. I don't think it's a problem, it's still normal I think, after all we still maintain the number of active users at 70 in the last few months.

Mate, great job again from you, holiday season is coming, so stay safe.

<…> This overview is for November and they got their local board yesterday so they are not yet included in Merit Dashboard, which is the source for that data. They will be included though in the next overview, if DdmrDdmr adds them.
I’ve altered the path structure of the posts I’ve already got, that now conform the Nigerian local board. The Merit Dashboard now displays the data in the local board structures, as opposed to the local thread structure.

Observations:
-   Nigerian local board inherits three threads from the former structure. Before today, I was only adding Merits from one of the threads (the main one), so the total amount now displayed is higher than before for each month.

-   We’ll see if I manage to fit it in smoothly with tomorrow's data download. It may take me a bit to ensure it all runs smoothly.

-   I do not have historical data for post counts, nor merit per post data, as that was being done for existing boards. I’ll start gathering it from the end of month onwards.

If anyone sees any bugs with the data, do let me know.

Thanks for showing us these stats once again Rikafip  Wink

This time there was less activity for everyone, but I wasn't expecting the difference between me and the second to be so big.

Yes yes please actually I did it, last yearl I compiled all monthly stats that you posted and created yearly summary for 2021.
I will probably try to figure something out then.

I'm sure your stats will be much more accurate and more presentable then my these excel based manual stats Cheesy
Since we are all using the same source, I don't think that mine would be any more accurate than yours, and imho yours look presentable enough.

On this subject please note that Nigerian board is missing from “Merit senders and receivers“ chart.

Another month, another monthly overview of the local boards activity. Since Christmas is in a few days, I thought to better publish it now because in that period between Christmas and New Year I don't think I could bother with something like this (too focused on eating and drinking Grin). As in all previous month, Charts and table are made with the help of @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space so thanks again guys for your awesome tools.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian and Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards yet. I am happy to remove "*" next to Nigeria as they finally got their own local board. Congratulations once again, and I hope that Pakistan is the next in line.

Post activity per local board during November 2022

During above mentioned period, 14823 posts were written across 18 boards, which is a solid 5% increase from October (14084). The whole forum felt more lively last month (probably due FTX fiasco) and I guess this translated to more activity in local boards which is a good thing of course.

Regarding the most active boards, no change there; Russian is still by far the most active one, followed by two regular names at the 2nd and 3rd spot (Turkish and German). As a matter of fact, when you look at top 6 and compare it with last month, only Italian (had a very strong increase of activity) and Indonesian changed the spots.

When it comes to the least active local boards, no much change either as we can see the usual names. I don't know what's happening with Bangladesh though, as I remember them being more active in the past and now they are at the bottom for the last few months. If they ever want to get their own local board, they will have to increase their activity as this is certainly not the way. Speaking of candidates for a local board, Pakistan is still going strong with 282 posts and hopefully they continue in the same manner.

Number of active members per local board during November 2022

Since there was an increase in the forum activity, there's no surprise that number of active members across local boards went up as well; from 1101 in October to 1204 in November which makes it ~10% increase. This increase is shared somewhat evenly across all local boards and hopefully those members will keep being active during December as well.

Merit shared per local board during November 2022

More active members, more posts written, so no surprise that there's more merit shared as well; from 5030 during October to 5469 during November, which is percentage wise increase very similar to the one of number of posts.

Once again Russian board is the most merited one which makes sense considering their number of posts, and this month its followed by Italian and German boards, while Turkish (that was second) dropped to 4th spot. While some boards could use more merit (Portuguese?) the only one that is still seriously undermerited is Pilipinas, but that's not a new situation and instead something that is going on for iirc more than a year.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during November 2022

Pretty straightforward chart that is ordered by the amount of merits shared. As always, the only one that seriously sticks out is Pilipinas board, and that means they have very high amount of people being part of merit system, relative to their very limited amount of merit. Just another confirmation that they could use another merit source.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for November 2022

Last but not the least, merit/post ratio chart. Once again Arabic board is far ahead the others, but this time with a more realistic ratio compared to October, and once again followed by Romanian board. While this chart generally looks good for majority of boards, there is still some room for improvement so I hope members of these boards will consider making a merit application threads, if they haven;t one that already.

The most active members per local board during November 2022

And in the end, list of the most active members across 18 local boards and communities.  joker_josue [248] kept his title of the most active local board member, followed by Snork1979 [185] and DdmrDdmr [169] . Gj guys and keep it up!

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.

I see local boards an important part of the forum, even more so now than before when bitcoin is spreading all over the world and not all people are capable or willing to communicate in English. On top of that, each country has its own crypto related issues and where better to discuss it other than your own local board.

I love bitcointalk for being able to support and create boards for different countries and languages. That is big advantage this forum has over others of its kind. When you are in your local board you will feel you are in another forum, yet in the same big bitcointalk.
Even if you don't understand English, you will still be comfortable and understand everything happening in the forum

As Cyrus will be examining your request, get ready to travel to Nigeria. We will give you a beautiful wife, it doesn't matter if you have a wife before. It's our culture, we give wife to strangers that are good to us in appreciation for their kindness  Grin

So, the only good news is that our activity has increased a little, but unfortunately the number of active members continues to decrease, and the number of shared merits is also lower.
Number of active users went down a lot compared to the February 2022 when I first started tracking that. To be more precise, in February there were 1396 active members across local board that is ~25% more than the last month.

Obviously, this is a long-term trend that will be very difficult to change.
Yep, hard to change it the trend but maybe decrease could be slowed down though, with adding few more local boards.

I can't believe that I am again the most active member of the Croatian part of the forum, and I don't have the feeling that I was very active.
I thought it was some mistake when I didn't see our slackovic on the list lol  Grin

I have already started working on my update, and I already added sarcasm on your slacking habits.
But the harsh reality is crust you are way more efficient than I am.
So, good work my friend!
You both are good at your levels and it requires lot of work to compile the monthly statistics reports for the local board activity so you can take your time with this one also. But yes we have to take on this one that @Rikafip is doing quite a good job in them and being preety fast from last few reports.

But you also take your time and maybe you come up with your own crux of reports in your style within next few days so waiting for it also.

Since you publish this figures monthly you are in the best position to track how fast and quality the Nigerian local board thread has grown. Every time you observe the immense growth and contribution, you don't hesitate to announce it.
Well I am only checking the numbers and not the post quality there/amount of spam and that also may be one of the criteria for getting your own local board.

And we expect the change to be sooner than its time. Those yet to be made local boards have busy activities and theymos should look into them, especially Nigeria. We have healthy discussions and topics going on in our local thread. We are a country that loves Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
Keep up with those numbers and I am sure that you will eventually get what you deserve. Thinking of it, I don't remember your local board request topic in being bumped lately so maybe you (Nigerians) should be more active in that regard.

But the harsh reality is crust you are way more efficient than I am.
Hah, I still do slack and it takes me 3-4 days to finish this overview. Its just that in the last few months I have a little bit less hectic schedule (+season of swimming is over for me) so I am publishing these things in the reasonable time frame.

Hold your horses... I think that next month report will show much more activity for local boards, maybe thanks to FTX collapse.
Good news for our local board is that old King Slacko is finally back after summer break, and I don't think Daniel will hold his crown any longer Smiley
Yep, I expect this month's numbers to be higher than the last ones, mainly thanks to the shitshow caused by FTX downfall. Regarding Return of the King, he was sorely missed in the last few months and with him at the helm I think that we can climb up the ladder at least 1 spot, maybe even 2.  Cheesy

It's crazy to see that our local troll policeman Snowshow was third most active member in our local boar...
At least some use of him. But I think that our guys managed to out troll him as he went back under the bridge he crawled from. At least until he resurfaces with yet another alt account.
