Unfortunately, a further decline in forum activity is evident and it is now an obviously unstoppable trend that will be very difficult to reverse.
Yeah I think that many of us (I certainly did) expected to see much bigger numbers and new members coming at the start of the bull run year ago.

First of all, thank you Rikafip for your graphs.
I am going to add them yo my Italian Overview.

Regarding the decline in forum activity, I guess it is something salted to the forum format, which has been declining for years. Other, newer, more interactive ways of communicating have the ability to capure newer users: i.e. Social media (Youtube or other social) of different communication channels, like Telegram or other chat apps like Discord.
As you know, I am focused on knowledge sharing, and I think those channels are way less favorable for a constructive exchange of opinion rather than pure fighting and pointless, goldfish-like memory, discussions.

Yeah I think that many of us (I certainly did) expected to see much bigger numbers and new members coming at the start of the bull run year ago. But as we can see, all this hype and news didn't bring many new people in local boards, and situation is not any better in the general part of the forum as well.

I still keep sending to bitcointalk all new people I met in RL that are interested in Bitcoin. I must admit that I didn't have much luck yet, but will keep doing the same.

Thanks Rikafip for new very interesting forum statistics.
Unfortunately, a further decline in forum activity is evident and it is now an obviously unstoppable trend that will be very difficult to reverse.
It seems that a similar situation is happening on the entire forum as on the Croatian part of the forum, we have more available merits to share but a smaller number of posts.
As for me personally, I am glad that I am still at the top in terms of activity on the Croatian part of the forum.
Thank you Rikafip for your effort and time invested in this forum analysis. I am sure many of the forum members are grateful for that.

Time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local board activity, and yet again I am late so apologies for that. All charts and tables are made with he help of two excellent tools: @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboardand @TryNinja Ninjastic.space

Communities that are marked with * don't have their own local boards. At least not yet, but hopefully that will change.

Post activity per local board during October 2021

With 20942 posts being written during October, local boards remained similar activity compared to September and 21454 posts being written, which is barely noticeable change.

When it comes to the most active boards, no change at the top; Russian board is far ahead the others with 7262 posts, followed by Turkish and German boards. Standarsd names are at the bottom too, which are usually reserved for Greek and Dutch boards.

For quite some time Turkish board has numbers very similar to Russian, but in the last month they had huge decrease of post activity, going down from 6099 in September to 3541 posts written in October, which is ~40% decrease. Amplitudes of that magnitude happen often on the smaller board, but very rarely on such a big board as theirs.

Merit shared per local board during October 2021

During October, 9332 merits were shared across 20 local boards ( to be more precise, 17 local boards+3 communities without) which is pretty decent increase (approximately 16%) compared to September and 6956 merits.

Like with the post activity, no changes at the top here either; Russian is far ahead, followed by German, Turkish and Italian boards.

Big (pleasant) surprise this month is German board with 1826 merits shared that makes it an incredible ~220% increase compared to September and only 571 merits shared. I have no idea what happened there, but it's nice to see German board recovering like that as they had negative trend for a long time. As a matter of fact, this is their by far the best result, as the closest one to October was December 2019 with 1373 merits shared.

When it comes to merit increase, it is also worth to mention Italian board that had almost 40% increase compared to September, making October their personal best month, merit-wise. Big surprise here is Pakistan community as well, with 60% increase compared to September and their 132 merits shared is an excellent number, considering that they don't even have their own local board.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during October 2021

Pretty straightforward chart that follows (more or less) the amount of merit shared, which makes sense.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for October 2021

It's nice to see this chart yet again being dominated by blue colour, meaning number of merits shared are increasing and all those recently added  merit sources are doing their job properly. Out of all local boards, only Dutch had lower monthly merit/post ratio shared compared to 12 months period, which is a very good result, probably the best so far.

The most active members per local board during October 2021

For the end of this overview, list of the top 10 most active members in each local board (and several communities without one).

Obviously we will have to be a little more patient until bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies rise a little more and when we will be able to make a big withdrawal of crypto funds and start enjoying full financial freedom  Grin
If everything happens according to PlanB's  stock-to-flow model (which was pretty accurate up until now) that could happen somewhere around next bitcoin halvening. Cheesy

While I jokingly accused @rikafip of laziness, I reckon this is not a job for us. And all we do here is for fun.
Yep, making these charts are fun to me. Someone might find it pointless waste of time, but I enjoy making them and that's what is important after all.

During October there were 128 active posters making post in the Indonesian Local Board of which there were 1150 post based on the data I took on the merit dashboard and we also distributed a minimum of 223 merit for 41 quality posters. This is a good view for Local Board Indonesian where in the last few month we have been able to consistently distribute 200+ merit to quality posters.
Good to hear that Indonesian board is slowly recovering as at one moment you went from one of the most to one of the least merited boards and all that in a couple of months. I see that you had a little drop in the amount of merits shared compared to September, but for sure looks much better than June when you had only 62 merits shared, which was your 2nd worst result ever.

Working on the charts as we speak, overview should be out in the next 2 days.

I have finished my assignment for the [CHART] Tampilan Bulanan Aktivitas Lokal Board Bahasa Indonesia, to be exact a few days ago. It's basically not an obligation to keep doing it, but it would be a fun thing to do where I can find out how our Local Board is progressing in activity statistic (post count, merit and active posters).

Rikafip! Where are you? I am late doing my homework, but you are later than me!
Lol, don't worry, I will add your graphs later.

Haha yeah I am slacking again, procrastination is a chronic disease. Cheesy

Joke aside (though I am master procrastinator), I started making charts like week ago, but then I got shit load of work so after like 14-16 hours of work at the PC it's hard to find the time (and will ) to even post on the forum, let alone make this overview. Things should calm down in a couple of days so charts should be out by the end of this week.

This situation is too well known to me, unfortunately  Embarrassed

Anyway Rikafip, thank you for your effort in preparing these statistics and charts, and I can't wait to see the new data.
Obviously I’m not the only one and you have a wide audience here  Cheesy
Of course, don’t forget to share this information on our local part of the forum as well.

The situation on other internet forums that I follow is even worse, but this forum is obviously kept alive because of signature campaigns and earning opportunities.
Yep, that's my experience as well when it comes to other forums. Younger generations simply prefer faster means of communications and I don't think that much can be done to change that.

Wonderful, not I am officially late on my Italian board overview.
Finally I was faster than you, but looking forward to your overview. As a matter of fact, I checked yesterday have you done it already.

On tu bright side, I will be able to piggyback your graphs straight away.

Thank you so much Rikafip for your hard work on this monthly report.
Unfortunately, your report only confirms what we all already know, that we have fewer and fewer active members on the forum, and this is already becoming a long-term trend.
It seems to me that young people are no longer interested in online forums and choose other ways of communicating online.
The situation on other internet forums that I follow is even worse, but this forum is obviously kept alive because of signature campaigns and earning opportunities.

Edit, sorry I didn't realize you were using ninjastic.space to do the calculation as my eyes were focused on the charts, but the post count was the same as last month (934) based on the merit dashboard. Sorry again, it's my fault but it looks like I'll still be using the merit dashboard for a while to do the monthly calculation.
Yeah, its a strange coincidence and this is the first month I started using ninjastic.space for all boards. It started last month with Russian board as it was consistently in the negative (therefore missing  from some of the charts) because their mods kept deleting/moving old posts and topics, so I just expanded it from now on to other boards.

Nothing wrong with using Merit Dashboard for post count as well, especially if your board is clean and without spam like for example mine (Croatian) is, so numbers on ninjastic.space and Merit Dashboard are usually pretty similar.

I've also updated it some time ago, but unfortunately posts like this are not interesting enough on my Local Board so it must be hard to get 1000 merit in a year. Lol
I see that there were some comments on your overview so I wouldn't say that there is no interest at all. But as long as you like making them, who cares Cheesy.

Rikafip, I would like to inform you that it seems that you are retrieving the August post count data for the September update especially for the Indonesian Local Board. Supposedly for the month of September the number of posts by the Indonesian Local Board only amounted to 487 (if you take the data on the merit dashboard). Looks like you'll have to edit it a bit this time. I've also updated it some time ago, but unfortunately posts like this are not interesting enough on my Local Board so it must be hard to get 1000 merit in a year. Lol

Despite me trying to be on time, I am again a little bit late with the monthly overview, albeit not as late as the previous one, so that's positive. All charts and tables are made thanks to @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space.

Reminder: Communities marked with * don't have their own local boards.

Post activity per local board during September 2021

Since I started using ninjastic.space for Russian local board, I decided to start using it for all other local boards as it wouldn't make much sense to only use it for one board. Due that, all numbers will be slightly higher as ninjastic.space cunts deleted post.

Regarding the post count, its somewhat similar to 8/2021, with Russian board on top, followed by Turkish and German (whose numbers are constantly decreasing for months now), with Italian and Portuguese closing the top 5. Regarding the languages without local board, Nigerian and Pakistan looks consistently strong; hopefully they can keep up those numbers as that's the only way to get their own local board.

Merit shared per local board during September 2021

Compared to August, September was slightly better month merit wise, with 6956 merit shared (August having 6850). No changes at the top; Russian board is far ahead the others with 2496 merits shared (decrease from August and 2850), followed by Turkish which is on the rise, and Italian at the 3rd spot. Like with posts, Germsan board keeps going down, as now 4th most merited board while it used to be 2nd for the majotity of these overviews.

By far the biggest "looser" is Pilipinas board with only 19 merits shared, which is very low number for board with that kind of activity (531 posts written). I have no idea what's going on there, but maybe it's time for some of their members to apply for a merit source spot.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during September 2021

Everything is pretty obvious here, with some boards sticking out as always, like Pilipinas that had decent amount of members invloved in merit shared despite very low numbers. Same thing can be said about German, but on a much higher scale of course.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for September 2021

Last but not the least in this series of charts, merit/post ratio. Like in the previous month, it's nice to see that blue chart keeps dominating which will hopefully continue in the months to come.

The most active members per local board during September 2021

And in the end, list of the most active members per local board.

Here is a rough one-year linear extrapolation for some boards:

I see what you are trying to do. But bear in mind two things.  The first has to do with extrapolations.
Every time I hear the word extrapolation I think of this comic:

The secondi a the fact that the “theymos boost” we observed with last merit reshuffle is going to probably fade away, and slowly impact negatively on your extrapolations.

Sure, extrapolations are not always certain.

The rule of dumb is, the more data the better, to plot a function.

It's just that I have a little doubt about the actual number of posts throughout September because on the merit dashboard the number of posts made is only 487 for the 4 existing board categories, while on ninjastic.space the number of posts reaches 934. So far I know ninjastic.space saves all posts that were deleted or moved to another board, but I'm not sure nearly 50% of that number was lost during september due to being deleted by moderators. The only reason I'm thinking about decreasing the post count is that some users deleted their own posts during september.
Looking at Indonesian board post count evolution , looks like there is a less posts in the altcoin board than usual (as sen in the screenshot below). My guess is that there was some kind of cleaning, meaning one of your mods could have deleted some old topics or moved them somewhere else, causing this difference in the post count. It wouldn't be a first time, and certainly last this has happened.

Every time I hear the word extrapolation I think of this comic:

...
Haha good one Cheesy

It's just the beginning of the month and I am already being called out for slacking. Gonna try to make new monthly overview by the end of this week. Cheesy
