What I'm saying is that there are so many medium that can be used to show best moves in a game, hence, gambler's wouldn't have any interest betting in such games. But still, tournaments are fine and good enough, yet betting in it isn't that kind of fun, as the game composes of pure silence and critical thinking of players and done for mostly an hour (which can be boring for some).
LOL! Exactly. I bet that only a small ratio of players will be aroused to bet on this type of game, not even close to mainstream games shown on TV and any other media platforms.

Chess is fascinating game but it applies only to a selected population of geeks.

I barely see a popular sports betting platform that includes chess on it. Most of the adults are playing chess so I wonder why there are few sports betting that has it.
Chess is a great game and there are plenty of players on it in lichess.org, chess24.com and chess.com.

I don't think this is possible. Online chess can be fooled unless streamed live. There are apps (such as chess.com) in mobile applications where you can play with BOTs and use the highest level.

Maybe its influence is not that high to be considered yet. Im sure e-sports platform have recognized it but they made a feasibility study and survey which the result is what they could expect if included chess games. Im not against it, somehow I feel like people are into more basketball and football. Maybe because the excitement is not so strong. ( imagine watching two players doing the game)

Not judging it but I think most people/gambler or fans wanted a team sports where there is much more action, likewise the mindset of esport platforms. This is also business which one that has more appealing would matter to them.

Don't worry brother as you were right. Not everyone would really watch silence and two players looking at their chess board. This chess betting and esport can only be recognized if and only if the game reaches billions of players and reached a live coverage on an international TV and would have million viewers watching. (right?)

It's getting a lot of attention because people are now lockdown or quarantine in their home and chess is the easiest and a game that you can play against anyone across the globe, it should have a  mass appeal because it's interactive and you can play at the comfort of your home or anywhere because of the internet.

If we don't want to play seriously, chess is the easiest game that almost people can play. We can play chess with learning the basic chess lesson, and we don't have to learn about making a strategy to push the opponent. But if we want to be the winner, we need to learn more about chess, so we know more about making the strategy. I don't play chess for a long time ago, and that is because I don't have an opponent to play. That is not because I have good chess skills, but that is because, in my environment, only a few people have the interest to play offline chess.

I don't know if there is online chess to play, but I only know the software we can install on our computer so that we can play offline against the computer. But I think that is not interesting for me, so I don't play that game.

Chess is a good sport, it's fun, enjoyable and has a lot of strategies involved when playing but if your an observer and not really an avid fan of chess, you'd find it quite boring tbh.
I couldn't agree with you more. I used to play Chess with my dad and friends and I find it boring for some people who are watching the actual game due to the fact that sometimes it is not considered as a fast-paced game.

I must say that there will be a lot of aspect to be considered before announcing that a game could potentially turned as eligible for sport/esport betting.

As I see it, chess is a thought-provoking activity that also requires an advance level of mental ability but is lacking of massive physical energy expenditure in which most of the sports in the industry have. Physical sports' nature is to exercise physical abilities as well as to show physical skills that may contribute to the fun and excitement of the game itself. On the other hand, although esports does not require a massive energy expenditure, the strategies and skills shown on a colorful and action packed nature of these games can exponentially impact the attention of viewers making them to be aroused by just simply observing.

That's only the downside of chess, and yeah, maybe they only had a small community as compared to other existing sports in the industry.

Chess is a good sport, it's fun, enjoyable and has a lot of strategies involved when playing but if your an observer and not really an avid fan of chess, you'd find it quite boring tbh. First time watching basketball I knew nothing about it, but it was still fun. That's probably why there's no notice on Chess betting. Still, it's community is pretty active though with all the chess sites out there plus, there are professional players out there who compete against each other.

Still, you never know, people's tastes might actually change. I for one want to see the Chess community develop more than what it is right now, so spreading its influence to betting might add some of it.
I think casinos will pick up this game very soon.
Now, that only few game matches are available to bet on.
This game will be on its pedestal again and gamblers will notice its presence and start knowing the GMs of this game.

Whereas, eSports betting is already gaining attraction from the players here.
Even noncrypto users are betting on it nowadays.
Why would casinos pick it up lmao. Casino games are games that are mostly based on luck and not skill. If you're talking about betting sites, even if there was only a single match to bet on, I doubt they'd pick it up this early on. Probably after it develops its fame more? or the community at least, asks for it.

I wonder if chess could possibly be implemented as an eSport game nowadays because I believe there are some engines that players could use without the opponent knowing, so with these, the game will not be fair unless both sides will agree that they will allow the management to inspect their system using third party application such as team viewer.

Though, for Blitz games which usually lasts 3-5mins, this could be good as engines will not be fast enough to find the best move in just a short period of time.

I do know about the chess online but didn't know that it's hitting twitch and gets a lot of audiences. I think on the betting side, it will take time for sports bookies to look into this. But for p2p gambling, it's way easier if there will be a group that's dedicated to doing this.
It may not be our popular typical sports that we used to know but we can classify it as one since it's done through the web and computer. Hopefully, some bookies will notice it.

Well, I believed it will discover soon and there is a bookie that we can place our bet. I like this game because it does not involve physical activity, or we called it here in our place a mind game. There are a lot of GM's players now [ https://www.chess.com/players ] and perhaps they are enough to have tournaments and bet live. Perhaps soon we will see this kind of game waving on sports/esports bookers.

Indeed, the international chess federation was looking into it here, [ https://twitter.com/FIDE_chess/status/1239603727247564804 ].

Believe me or not but there are only small percent of gamblers that are interested in chess than other physical sports. I think also that Lebron James is popular than Garry Kasparov.
Casino`s really love bettors and they are after the bets than in sports. If only few gamblers have interest in chess sports then there is only small amount of wagers every time there is a tournament. I don`t say that chess isn`t popular, it is just only small percent have interest to bet. But then, who knows? It may really give an impact to gambling world since a new sport may be added.
Agree on some part that chess isn't popular since it's an old/medieval game but this trend right now will be a stepping stone to make the game popular again.

Twitch is a very popular platform on streaming, so definitely it will be an easy process to make it on the top (actually it's on the top right now). There are millions of viewers day by day so chess will definitely dominate the other games listed on betting platforms. So I'm hoping that online casino or gambling platforms should consider this trend right now, it might give them an opportunity and advantages.

Chess is a great game and there are plenty of players on it in lichess.org, chess24.com and chess.com.

Actually, there's a lot of tournament in chess that was implemented during the quarantine and those events are being participated by Grand Masters which has a rating of greater than 2500.
  • Clutch Chess Showdown 2
  • Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge
  • Clutch Chess Champions
  • FIDE Chess.com Online Nations Cup
  • Chess24 MCI Finals

On the side of streaming.

There's a bunch of streamers on twitch that's playing chess right now and you can't believe that it has a lot of viewers. One of those popular streamers is GM Hikaru, he also played on those tournaments that I've mentioned. Even the top 1 overall rating, GM Magnus Carlsen, is also streaming in twitch.

We all knew that most popular games are LoL, CS:GO, Dota 2, and Fornite but recently, a medieval game which is chess, climbed to the top of the most played games in twitch. This game is a sport and can even be considered in eSports since it can be done electronically so I hope there are gambling sites that consider this game on their platform.

GM Hikaru also have a chess battle with popular streamers in other games like @xQc @BoxBox @voyboy @Papaplatte @Yassuo @nymnion and there's a possibility that Twitch will be organized a twitch rival on chess! IMO, it'll be better to have this kind of category since there are many fans of chess all over the world.
