Well, chess has it's last renaissance during the 70's with Kasparov and Karpov, I still remember it being played in the streets as sort of past time that time and then evolved as being used to 'hussle', like 3 card monte.

But I would agree that the game is somewhat boring and bettors are looking for exciting game specially with the physical aspect (contact sports). So I doubt it will have the support specially at today's time wherein football, UFC, basketball is the top pick for sports bettor.
Chess is a very difficult game to get into for several factors, one of them is that to get any insight into the game you need to invest many hours in it and even then the top players play at a level that even other good players have a problem understanding which makes it difficult to watch, also the matches last very long and lets be honest watching two players not moving for hours is not the most exciting thing in the world, however I am sure that if we see another craze like the one we saw during the 70’s then sports books may add chess in the future.
Since chess is on the top streaming right now, those popular streamers could influence others to be interested in the game. The problem is, when they knew the term "chess" they think it as a hard, complex, difficult, and very boring game even though they didn't play the game. There's a mode in chess which is blitz, a 5 minutes game and tbh it's very suspense and thrilling if you knew the game even its basics.
Blitz games can be a lot more exciting that is true, but once again chess is difficult to understand even with all the time in the world to ponder about your moves, in blitz mode it is really difficult for the viewers to understand what is happening and even if there was an expert broadcasting the games it will be difficult for him to describe the action on the board to the spectators, however I really hope that chess is making a comeback with the public and becomes more popular as I love the game and I have played it for years.

Thanks to Carlsen, popularity of chess has already risen a lot.
You are right about the blitz games, I have some friends who are really good, but commenting on a blitz match is very difficult. They just enjoy the action and than replay all the moves afterwards.

Some bookmakers that offer betting on chess: marathonbet (accepting crypto); unibet, bwin, betway (all major bookmakers but not accepting cryptos at the moment).

Watching a regular chess match is indeed boring, but rapid games (with Carlsen) are fun to watch.
So this means that we already have these chess bookies. I haven't watched a live match although I have been playing chess since I was a kid but I'm not that good at all.
How often does those casinos offer chess bets?

Every large tournament (and there are several big tournaments per year), several bets are available on these bookmakers. Right now there are bets available on the Chessable masters 2020 with Carlsen as heavy favorite to win the title (odd is around 1.4).
Thanks for that information. I thought that there's no book with that and that's why many others don't also know that there's an existing. And it would be an ease if soon they'll be adopting crypto or there will be a known crypto casino that will add chess to the listing.
For now, that's good enough that we have and in the future they might consider to give more opportunity and entertainment to their bettors through adding a payment method with crypto.

I barely see a popular sports betting platform that includes chess on it. Most of the adults are playing chess so I wonder why there are few sports betting that has it.
Chess is a great game and there are plenty of players on it in lichess.org, chess24.com and chess.com.

People are underestimating chess but Chess is a very popular game, it's the most popular sports in Russia and in the 70's it becomes very popular around the world because of Robert Fischer who become a world champion against Spassky, this happens at the time when Russian are ruling the Chess world and they have monopolized the Chess world.

There are a lot of online chess platforms and there are thousands of clubs around the world, you can find a chess club in every city town or companies, the youngsters are not noticing it because of the so many gaming platforms on the internet.

Who does not know the game Chess, but unfortunately most people think Chess is not a sport. Therefore it is still very rare
sports betting platforms that include Chess. If you see the Chess tournament viewers the amount is not small, so I am
a supporter of Chess hope Chess can soon be on all sports betting platforms.

I like playing chess, but watching it is quite boring. One match can take several hours and sometimes it can take up to 1 hour before a player makes a move.
I know some betting platform where you can bet on chess (but they do not accept cryptos).
I kinda agree that only a few people will enjoy watching a chess game since it takes a lot of time before a player decided to make a move. It's not that I don't find it entertaining, but in my place, there's a nearby park where some people are playing chess. But looking at their age range, older people tend to appreciate chess more than younger people. But since I think that younger people are more into online gambling compared to older people, they prefer more entertaining games and sports.

However, it's good to know that chess is starting to gain interest among players. Maybe in the future, we will be able to see a lot of sports betting platforms that will accept chess.

I think the same way too! Its entertaining only for those who plays it and to the audience who knows how to play it. But for me, its kind of boring and silence makes me not entertained. I watch esports that I didn't even know how to play but I still enjoyed it. Its hard just like other esports game but I think the problem is how it appears to other people. And yep, they will still have their audience but I'm not sure it will be as big as other games.
Chess still gets audiences but even the audiences remain quiet and just looking and waiting for the next move of the players. While in e-sports, even the audience can feel the excitement of the players, so there's really a big difference.

Its true that older people enjoyed playing chess since it is relaxing and stimulates your brain to analyze, but to be honest it is not really that popular when it comes to betting or gambling since it is a slow paced game and needs quiet a lot of time to make a move. I have been also wondering before if there are existing gambling sites intended for chess but now i've seen some.
That's why we don't usually see chess in betting sites because it's not that exciting compared to others. You won't find the excitement of watching a game especially when you don't know how to play it. Unlike in other e-sports, even with no knowledge about it, you will still kinda understand the game. It's more thrilling because it has more action compared to chess, and chess requires a lot of thinking about the next move you'll do while in other e-sports, you just keep on moving.

Actually, there's a lot of tournament in chess that was implemented during the quarantine and those events are being participated by Grand Masters which has a rating of greater than 2500.
  • Clutch Chess Showdown 2
  • Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge
  • Clutch Chess Champions
  • FIDE Chess.com Online Nations Cup
  • Chess24 MCI Finals

On the side of streaming.

There's a bunch of streamers on twitch that's playing chess right now and you can't believe that it has a lot of viewers. One of those popular streamers is GM Hikaru, he also played on those tournaments that I've mentioned. Even the top 1 overall rating, GM Magnus Carlsen, is also streaming in twitch.

We all knew that most popular games are LoL, CS:GO, Dota 2, and Fornite but recently, a medieval game which is chess, climbed to the top of the most played games in twitch. This game is a sport and can even be considered in eSports since it can be done electronically so I hope there are gambling sites that consider this game on their platform.

GM Hikaru also have a chess battle with popular streamers in other games like @xQc @BoxBox @voyboy @Papaplatte @Yassuo @nymnion and there's a possibility that Twitch will be organized a twitch rival on chess! IMO, it'll be better to have this kind of category since there are many fans of chess all over the world.

Like what i am doing when i was in college when most of my male classmate uses breaktime to Bet against one another with either chessboard or scrabble.

But thanks for the share,I will visit those streamers in regards to their chess activities.

Chess is a very popular game in our country, there are many people who are playing it because it is really good for entertaining people, many people want these games that used their mind, skills, and strategy to win the game, just like me I always want to play chess especially when I am playing with the person who is good at playing it, its okay id I will lose the game because I will learn some strategies to him or her. It takes so many time but it is really worth it because it uses your analytical and logical thinking. I don't think so if there is Esports betting for it because I haven't tried it yet.

same . not aware that there are sites for chess betting  . the reason why we arent aware would be because those sites dont accept crypto because if it accept crypto , this site is the number one site were gambling games that are related to crypto are being promoted  . there is one site that accept crypto but its not that popular enough  .

is that means crypto people are less interested to chess but they prefer classic crypto casino games   ? hmm...

No offense but most people nowadays look at chess as a boring sport. Though I am seeing it being applied in esports but a game mode of it. It was started in the arcade of Dota 2 which is the Dota Chess. It is pretty interesting and addicting to be honest since it is like a gamble where you based on your luck if the heroes you will be getting will follow what you want to build.

Some years back I tried playing chess and also did learned from the friend or must say tried learning the game but soon understood that this requires huge concentration and need to be very focused as you need to know not only your movement but also how the opponents movement and how it could be danger if you move just 1 wrong move in the game. It is very exhaustive game but not my type of it.

Well, its about tactics, strategies, the memorization of possible moves. It is exhausting but it is really fun if you are thinking about how you will be taking down your opponent's king. But it is more fun when they actually apply it in games. Started by Dota 2, as far as I know, LoL also have this game mode and also Mobile Legends.

This is true that this is all about strategy, the moves of yours and that of opponent needs to be known so that accordingly you can also make the move. It really requires lot of brain muscle to work and that too it should be very quick in thinking and expected results of the move. Well this is surely not everyone games and also it requires lot of calmness in head to think decisively.

Well, we can say that it is also the collection of all the games a player played being applied in a game over and over again, it is really hectic. I am bad with these kinds of sports, even in games like RTAs where you need to think of a good strategy to defeat your enemy. It is a collection of knowledge, skills, experience, and a lot of other things in-between.

I love chess games, in fact, I downloaded it on my phone to give some room playing online while in quarantine.
For there will be a place where we can include this in online/sports betting it might get interesting for oldies to participate as well or those chess lovers will get into it. Or maybe I consider myself for this and maybe this could also help to promote this game as most of the new generation had giving no/less interest in learning rather than those ROS and many other online games.

There is no much better way to play chess is with someone in real than in computer because the thrill is there and the challenge.

Here are some threads about chess..

I never understand fully on how to play chess even though I tried hard to learn it. These days even school good kids are playing good chess games and it also make their brain strong. In some countries, like Japan, chess is compulsory for the kids to develop their thinking power on their brains. However, I doubt if there is any scope for the betting on chess.

I never thought that gambling in chess is a thing too but I guess it is. All I know is that some people are actually streaming playing online but I never thought that it would be something that people could bet on.

For a long time in gambling, I didn't notice that there is a kind of gambling games with the use of this chess because we all know that this is just a popular mind games sports which is only a few people enjoy on this game and I'm a fan of this game too and this is a good excitement there is a tournament happenings right now and bets to give your chance of winnings.

I see some twitch streamer.

Don't know why right now a lot people trying to playing a chest online ~LOL, this hype. I don't really know how good and strategy playing a chest, to much thinking for me so can't really enjoy playing the game. But seeing some streamer who turned to play into a chest kinda funny.

Some streamers on twitch I noticed that they are now playing online with this game it is just a 2D game that you can play with the PvP and one on one game still it gives a real game because you are against with other players too.
