I will release new version with further speedup and reduced dev fee in 2-3 days. I will also release version for Linux, but a bit later.

Please forget about the Nix mega-miners. Dual boot into windows (which you do anyway) for your two machines. Time otherwise that could be spent on optimizing or improving Claymore in a different way, like a stat screen readout (like sgminer).

kminer 1.3 is out as well.

Is there a v8.0 Linux build in the works? I finished shuffling everything over to Linux only a few days before v8.0 came out. I figure Claymore is working on a new version that can compete with this strange Russian miner people are chatting about here. Whatever the reason, Claymore, please don't forget about us Linux users!

fyi I tried kminer-1.2b miner referenced in this thread

My system Windows 8.1 running Cat 13.12 drivers, cpu 1 core sempron 145
3 x 7970 PowerColor cards with Stilt mod bios running 1080/1500

kminer-1.2b give 1627h h/s at 600 watts, dev fee 0.7%
vs
claymore 8 cat 13.12 1620 h/s using 650 watts. dev fee 5%

So kminer1.2b and Claymore 8 are just about the same at mining speed, but dev fee is lower 0.7% vs 5% and uses 50 watts less on my rig.

Nice to see some competition

Tnx, i just switched to kminer!
I get about 50hash less on 290x, but 50hash more on 280x, and ofc only 0.5% fee Cheesy

The cards are using ~1GIG less memory than what it shows Claymore has available to it.

It's ok too.

I'll take your word for it  Grin

The -h changes gave me around 20 more h/s , Thanks. Do you use IRC?

GPU #0 = Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 280X VAPOR-X 3GB
GPU #1 = RADEON R9 290 4GB POWERCOLOR PCS

When I run Claymore 8, I just noticed this come up

Cards available: 2
GPU #0: name: Tahiti, 3072 MB available, 32 units
GPU #1: name: Hawaii, 3072 MB available, 40 units
Total cards: 2

It's ok, for 4GB cards OpenCL allows 3GB only for using.
If v8 is slower than v7 for 290 card, try HashCnt = 1280 for it, for your system with GPU #0 280x and GPU #1 290 it is "-h 896,1280".

Thanks for the quick reply,

The cards are using ~1GIG less memory than what it shows Claymore has available to it.

for me claymore 8.0 works better,  speed is almost the same, but temps, and power consumption are less on claymore.

Couple questions:

Do cards from different manufacturers, but from the same model need to be tuned differently? IE 896 was the mentioned optimal number of hashcounts for a 280x, but does that change depending on the manufacturer of the card?

Does the memory type effect hash count as well? Elpedia needs a different hash count then hynix?

Weird shit, seems like -a doesn't do anything anymore for me. I've tried it on a few different machines, it doesn't change anything even though it shows up as changing in the program when it starts. It doesn't change wattage and it doesn't change hash rates. Overall I'm getting more hash with the same power as -a 2 in v7, but I can't change my options.
