Has anyone experienced hashrate drop in what seems to be a quite consistent matter?
I'm not talking about my rock solid RX570 rigs, they've been absolute beasts for a year now. But I'm struggling with the Vega rig.

All GPUs will hash at ~41MH/s until one decides to drop to 26 for a minute. Then goes back up to 41. This happens regularly.

Surely if it were temp throttling (which seems unlikely as I have the fans running at pretty much 100%) the hashrate reduction would be more gradual... and not bam!... down to 26?

Any clues? I'm on v11.4, latest Adrenalin, Vega56@64, safe softPP table with specific clocks and voltages set in Claymore miner.

Got the same issue but with my rx580 rig, all 7 cards running stable at 31 mh/s. From time to time gpu0 suddenly crashes to a rate around 5-10 mh/s and after a few minutes hits back to 31. There are no error logs showing up, also no incorrect shares and temps are fine. Card has also the same setup as other cards (no oc), kinda strange since it just appeared lately, running currently v 11.5

here you can see it: https://imgur.com/iQeWpKJ

same issue here

are you using stock rom  with no oc?

Hello guys. I was refusing to register for long 6 months. Cheesy
I think now its time. So lets start with miner.
It is excelent program, with always new features and bug fixes.
I was mining since Sept2017 with rx480nitroOC, bought 2 vegas in November and finished my project in January with 12vegas on Biostar tb250btc PRO.

What started as stable and happy mining turned into nightmare. Before Christmas i had 6 referent vegas(4liquid) and using wattman gave me stability of over a week 24/7 with 1200w usage on ETHonly. As i am guy who likes to get updates i was constantly updating claymore and drivers.
At some point windows forced their FCU nigthmare and i saw that they merged windows defender with new antivirus functions and firewall all together so that ppl cant disable it completly.
Also i activated that registry tweak from some guy on internet and windows started missbehaving much more(no start menu, explorer giving some error..)
So i prolonged fresh instalation because i bought 5 more 56strix and tried to rule them with wattman. There was no chance without PPtables even referent cars worked without PPT flawlessly.
So i started learning how to mod PPtables and tested almost 2 weeks. I was sick of it, constant crashes after 12-15-20hours.
Then i realized its about new claymore miner. Luckly 11.5 with old kernels fixed issues.

Also i was mining only on ethermine(gosh this pool is crap)
You get constant payout because of constant block finding but those thing with stale, incorect and low shares....
So i tried anorak and it was giving me 550-600shares/h without any stale while ethermine was @460-520 with 11.5 3-5% stale.
Their pool is flown with too much ppl.

Also i tried without -oldkernels on anorak and my cards were stable about 30h.  Then i put in dual mining XVG and im getting 480mhs eth and 25ghs xvg.

Before i changed from ethermine to anorak i did full system upgrade in must have order( BIOS, drivers for motherboard, winupdate full, turned off update, defender, firewall in settings, services and all over windows because they dont want us to turn it off- it took me 3 hours to turn off windows bloatware, xbox, skype all that stupid programs...)
Then i tweaked more with some services turned off, installed my oldschool comodo firewall ONLY and finaly get my control over system.
All that is possible with 10years of using windows to the fulllest and digging every new option through the years from XP till now.
Microsoft is giving us hard times with every new version and dont think you can just install fresh, tweak few things and have no problems.

After all that fight with software because cards are monsters i have one more issue that one guy mentioned few replys back.
One random Vega is dropping from cca 40-44 to 25-35 mhs. That was not happening before 10.5claymore.
What is going on???

Also with MarchAdrenaline drivers my log file told me that when some gpu crashes before crash miner was fetching Temperature of cards so i put -tt 0 and now i am so stable with fluctiations 3-4 mhs and every few minutes that drop to 30's mhs..

Claymore, i hope you read this essay and if you need log files i will be happy to send you.

Feel free to ask me anything
Try this in bat file put start /high ..
start /high EthDcrMiner64.exe -ethi 10 ... if you use -mvddc or -cvddc commands in bat file with new Adrenalin drivers sometimes high values on these commands will make errors like this especially claymore v11.x. Check for Asics quality in everycard with gpu-z and use low values for quality over %80-85 , use high for %70-75. Also you shouldn't mine while hwinfo or gpu-z working. If your cards have hardmoded bios and used -asm 2 command will also drop your hashrate like this.

Look up how to manually assign a LAN IP on your DHCP server. Typically you assign an IP by your rigs MAC address in your router.

Hi Lexlima.  I am using using claymore 11.2 as this is the most stable my rigs has ever been.

your fan probably come on of off due to how hot the card goes. its is probably at around 45-55 degrees c.

below is my config file which has been running stable for 9 days now.

7 card system, with RX580 8gb cards.  cards reach a tmp of around 60 degrees. 6 X powercolor cards fan spin all the time, Sapphire card which fan goes on and off.

running amd bitchain drivers and cards have been modded. Still getting 30Mh's per card

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -ewal 0x0f1c8f60fa11079829db7cfe8a383b2c4763bc6a.miner -epsw x -mode 1 -ftime 10 -esm 0 -tt 60,60,60,60,60,60,30 -fanmin 60,60,60,60,60,60,10 -fanmax 100,100,100,100,100,100,40 -tstop 72,72,72,72,72,72,72 -cclock 1100 -mclock 2100 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 860 -wd 0 -eres 3 -gser 2

see how you get on.

Vik

Vik,

Thanks man for this i will sure try this as 11.2 seems more stable for sure.

Can i ask you to make me a command line for my cards.

Just use my command line and change your tt and fanmin. You may need to tweak  tt and fanmin settings. If you have all same cards leave as one figure only. if different cards you may need to insert the figure several times and tweak them.  Leave all overclocking software turned off.  I don't use any of them now.
I use the ssl connection to ethermine now.

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal ETHEREUM_WALLET.WORKER_NAME -epsw x -tstop 85 -tt 65 -fanmin 75 -fanmax 100 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2250 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 850

I know it is a lot but i am new to claymore overclocking.

I am only used to MSI and there i was using 1200/2200/-96V
Those were the only things i chaned and fan fixed at 70 %.

So you are saying that because my cards dont get too hot they are not spinning all the time?

Correct , don't worry if they spin up and down as long temps don't go over 60 degrees.

Is there a way to keep them spininng?

If you want them spinning you I used to use afterburner and fix the fan speed, only the fan speed and do nothing else with any other settings

I looked at your code and some thing i am fimiliar with but this commands i dont know what they are and i read it on Claymore readme.txt but cant seem to understand.

 -mode 1 -ftime 10 -esm 0  -wd 0 -eres 3 -gser 2

Hi Have a look at  https://howtomine.co/2017/07/14/full-list-claymores-parameters-command-line-options/ regarding the settings.

This setting i cant seem to understand.

I know i ask too much but i would be really appriciated if you could help.

I was posting a while back that I've got stability issues on mixed polaris 570&580 rigs.
Somehow similarly I have one miner with 8*570*4GB Asus (boxy looking and not the Strix one) and 4*580*8GB Nitros
It was just giving me pain - miner was crashing probably every few hours (the only one out of  10+ of the similar build, except the mixed 570&580)
In some logs I could see that GPU0 (my display card) would fail so...I had a display dummy also mem (I think Elpida) set at 1920
So I rolled back to 11.2 removed the display dummy and increased the mem clock to 1950 and now it's fine.

You have upto 10% incorrect calculated shares (third number after hashrate). That's ridiculous high! Very too much oced would i say. Should be 0 (or maybe ~0,1%).

I'm having a problem with a crash or lockup when starting.  I've tried 11.3, 11.4 and 11.5.  All exhibit the same issue.

Claymore runs great when I don't set any GPU parameters in the config file.  However, as soon as I add any clock or voltage adjustments to the GPUs, one of 3 things happens when I start the software:
1. BSOD with Thread Stuck in Device Driver error
2. System just locks up (no mouse movement or num lock), requiring a hard power cycle
3. It starts properly but eventually exhibits failure 1 or 2 after an hour or two.

When I say the problem happens with any GPU parameters, I've tested this by using all stock settings (the same that the GPUs default to when I don't set anything in the config), but I still have the problem.  So, the problem is not settings outside of a stable operating range.

The crashes usually occur after "POOL/SOLO Version", but not all the time.

I checked the logs but nothing stands out.  The logs look normal then just stop when the crash happens.

I'm running a rig with 3xRX570 and 3xRX580 using the blockchain driver on Win10.

I've tried running -oldkernels 1, but that actually made it worse.  I couldn't start mining at all.  I always get OpenCL errors, even with no clock or voltage adjustments.

I tried -gser1 and -gser 2, but neither of those helped.

Is there something else I should be looking at?
 - Dave

Check that your power supply is up to the job, a lot of crashing problems can easily put down to an underrated PSU. Use a power meter to check what you are taking at-the-wall and make sure you have some power to spare to account for losses in the PSU itself, and any spikes on start-up.

Hello,

I cheked that already and everything seem fine. I have 2 EVGA PSU G3 750W for 6 GPUS RX580 Special Edition so i think it is more then enough. At this point i am out of solutions.

I guess i will have to keep switchind drivers and Claymores so that i can find right combination. I blame MSI AB for everyhing. Before this Windows Update everyhitng was working fine and rig never had problems when i overclocked with MSI

Hi people,

Can anyobody help me i am going mad.

I have 5 rig with 6 x RX 580 Special Edition. On all five rigs i have a fresh install of Windows 10 Home 1709. Fisrt my problem started when i could make MSI AB work with all 6 cards (it only recognize 3 cards) so i had to switch to Trixx.

I installed Claymore Dual Miner V 11.3, 11.4 and 11.5 and on all machines same problem. I watch them for few hours and everything is working just fine.No memory errors no nothing everything is perfect. Then suddenly overnight or in the morning some of them shutdown randomly(Blue screen). First i thought it was because of overclocking then when i realize it isnt (beacuse i set them to default), i switched to 11.2 because i read here it is the last stable version.

Now i have new problem. Trixx sudennly bugs out randomly on different rigs at a different time, stop working and all my cards stops working too.

I am desperate in need of help. I tried everything dont know what is the problem.

What i did before this:

Install Windows 10 64 bit Home V1709
Install new latest AMD drivers (compute mode)
tried MSI Ab but cant read 6 cards
uninstall all programs i dont need via CC cleaner and Miningtweaks. bat like Cortana, People, Xbox etc.
Set virtaul memory, power plan all other stuff that i was doing on the previous version of Windows 10. The reason i cant go back to old version of Windows is because it keeps updating.

So my question is what should i do to stop shutdowns?
How can i use MSI with new AMD drivers and Windows 1709?
What Claymore should i use?
Why is Trixx suddenly stop to work?

Hope someone gives me a solution.

Thanks

MSI Afterburner won't work with the latest drivers and more than 3 cards. There is no Group Policy Editor in the Home version of Windows 10, so I don't think you can disable Windows Update driver updates. RX 580's don't need the pixel patcher with a modded Bios, only the RX 470/480/570's.

I'm using v11.5 with the latest Adrenaline drivers in Compute mode on a 13 card RX 480/580 rig with ZERO problems or invalid shares and it's very stable. You can also set the overclock/undervolt/fans directly in the Claymore config or .bat file.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32024794

https://image.ibb.co/kJ8yqH/ASRock_13_GPU_Claymore_11_5.png

First of all thanks for the advice,

I tried to overclock via Claymore so i add this command:

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal ETHEREUM_WALLET.WORKER_NAME -epsw x -tstop 85 -tt 65 -fanmin 75 -fanmax 100 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2250 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 850

I use Claymore 11.5 . So what happened is that i monitored miner from 10 PM yesterday for about 2 hours and there was no problem. This morning when i looked at it it reported few GPU errors during the night. Miner is still working so i left to see when will it shut down. What i noticed is that with this command fans spins randnomly, 3 GPU spin while 3 others dont and vice versa. Sometimes it spins all 6 GPUs. Is there something wrong with my command or is there a line that i can control all fans for example to spin for 70 % all the time?

I have Sapphire RX 580 Special Edition and use this overclocks with Trixx and there are no errors just miner shutdown so i dont think it is the overclocks because they are not pushed too hard. Today on another rig i am trying 11.2 to see if it is more stable from 11.5. After that i dont know what else to try.

P.S. When i touched GPUs from the rig that i started testing yesterday i can feel the cards are very cold so i dont know how they can report GPU error that is connected to overclocking. Before this only happened when cards got too much heat.I am guessing that in the time when fans dont spin they get more heat and then thay report error so i need them to work all the time but i dont know the command line.

Claymore - Would it be possible to have the logs go into a subfolder in the next version?

+1 yes that's a really good idea
-1. It is good as it is. If you want subfolder or unique filenames, use a script. The man has put enough options to control the log file already.

why should i use a script, when it would be a few keystrokes for claymore. if i'm paying for the use of a program via a devfee, (barely a) feature request is not unreasonable. it would make sense rather than having the main program folder fill up with logs on win 10.
I see you are a true believer.

From claymore's help :  "We have high share difficulty, so 8Mh miner should find around one share in 10 minutes on average. However, it can find more often or not find for some time. Please, wait for a longer period and check 6 hours average, or even 24 hours".
I am 15,6 and the number of shares I found is 12.
