Is there a way to let claymore control fan with -tt flag (linux amd-pro drivers) without giving it root permissions?

I feel dirty running it as root.

Once you apply that -tt, fans will be controlled by claymore miner to keep the temperature within your specified limits. It has to get all those root permissions else it can't control those deep functions of your GPU for mining.

You should be able to rename the folder with the current version in the miner folder on ethOS. Then create a new folder with the same name, add the v11.2 files and run sudo chmod +x on ethdcrminer64 to make it executable.

Can you tell me location ?

The Claymore ETH miner should be in /opt/miners/claymore.

Highly optimized 13x RX480 rigs, custom per card bios, etc. 0 invalid shares, 24ms accept time, on eth1.ethermine.org
Was running perfeclty stable for weeks with 11.1

Witih 11.2, 11.3 and 11.4 crashes all the time.
Hash rate increases but there is no point in it if I have to lower the memclocks to keep the cards from crashing.

Back to 11.1 and stable again, relatively high stale rate (5-15%). 0 invalid shares. 24ms accept time.
Back to 10.6 and lowered stale rate even more (2%).

For me, I'll stay with 10.6
Or can you think of any cons?

Why are you copying my text (posted on: March 14, 2018, 08:29:12 AM)  1:1 without any comment?

I'm doing same thing, back to 10.6! Average hashrate is shit starting from 11.x, going up and down like crazy, more down than up actually. The only cons I see is that it has higher devfee that 11.x

@Claymore

seem there's issues with 11.5 and nvidia cards. i am getting a terrible fluctuation on reported hashrate

as you can see, it goes as low as 156MH/s | 175MH/s, etc ... the rig does 188MH/s with 6 nvidia 1070, on previous versions.

anyone experiencing the same?

I use AMD cards and I'm also having fluctuation on reported hashrate with 11.5 version.

I flashed my RX 570's back in April 2017.
Claymore's miner has been working stable in version 11.4, 11.3 and any previous version just as well.

I think you guys complaining about crashes must have dodgy memory straps or are just overclocking too far. Just check the log, identify the GPU going down and dial back that OC.
good for you. there's however indeed some instability of the v 11.4 version.
Never before the application had crashed on me, and I'm talking hundreds gpus( with 11.4 already two occasions on different workers) also on some of the cards I had to reduce the mem clocks to get back to stable operations

Its not ethermine, im on nanopool and its getting worse by the day, but the fault is from Claymore. I had almost same average hashrate like the reported, in many days even more, for weeks, with 10 to 10.6, but i was a fuckin idiot and changed to this shit 11.5 and i get 5 to 9 less mhs than reported... Its utterly and absolutly garbage. I will go back to 10.6...

Yep, ethermine stale shares went from 1-2% to 8-12% , at the moment i have 3 % staoe shares. Could we ask ethermine if there is any reason for that? will see how it will stay...

My stale shares are very low in these days (1%) but also effective and average had a steep decrease, like I'm not getting shares. Moved to SSL ethermine server just to see if there is a difference. Also put a rig on nanopool for comparison

The reason for that is that the pool difficulty @ Ethermine is set to low. Then the chance of you finding a share someone else found are higher.

A simple raise of difficulty would help here. The difficulty @ nanopool has been set higher, so you see less, or no stales there.
