Running latest 9.3 miner on a GTX1080 liquid cooled rig with an i7700. Running dual ETH and DCR, Miner starts fine and does 21 Eth and 210 Dcr. Always seams to be a 10X relationship between ETH and DCR. After 5-10 min, its start dropping slowly and levels off around 11 ETH and 110 DCR. Anyone have anything similar with 1080, 1070 or 1060?

This also happens when I do ETH only, that starts out around 23 and slowly drops to 12 or so after 10m or so.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I have a spare 6 pin sata port on my EVGA supernova modular PSU.  If I buy a 6 pin male to 6 pin male modular cable, can I plug that into my PCIE riser to power it safely?

I really need an answer to this if anybody could help
You can but power of it is same as SATA.And many connections are not good idea. Best is to cut wires and make it directly to 6 PIN

I got the dual mining working via Nicehash.

I tried LBRY and also PASCAL but both of them slowed down my ETH mining substantially... by about 6 MH/s for either of them.

I also tried DCR and it doesn't show any speed penalty... but is having 100% rejection rate.

Ideas on that ?

What version of the miner are you using? For DCR you can only use 9.2 and 9.3 due to header change. Earlier versions will only create invalid shares.

Also once you are using the correct version for the DCR header change you may want to adjust the DCR intensity so as not to greatly impact ETH mining performance. The default dcri intensity is 30 but I found that -dcri 25 works well for my RX 470s.

I seem to have an issue, well two issues.

#1 the miner crashes/freezes after it exits or the watchdog restarts it and I can't figure out why.

#2 here's a the log file of the GPUs halting and the miner restarting. Why did the GPUs stop, I can't figure out why? It crashed/froze after it restarted and I lost many hours of mining time.

Hi all, I wanted to mine on my other machine and just copied my bat file and I get an error every time I run it.. the error is no pool specified , specify at least one valid pool in the e pool parameter, which I have done already! Why is this happening?

By the sound of it you are mining ETH only, add -mode 1 to your string otherwise it will keep on searching for second pool.

hope it helps..

is there an alternative to nicehash, to send my decred hashrate to, and get payed directly in btc? just with less fees Cheesy.

Can use www.zpool.ca. We'd love more hashrate and payout in BTC or whatever currency we mine.

Cheers

I might give it a try.

Any way to change the background color the web page when I view my miner using a local browswer? Such as LOCALIP:3333. I don't like that gray background and would to change it to black or another dark color.

I don't think nicehash charges sellers any pool fees and pays in PPS.. I think

LOL i was wrong just read the FAQ:

and i quote:

What is the fee for using this service?

NiceHash charges a processing fee from each party of hash rate trade (buyers and sellers) made through the service. Currently our fee is set at 3%.

Hey guys i have the same problem of one of GPU drops to 0.0Mhs and error comes GPU HANGS IN OPENCL call.

Let me tell you what i have tried to far.

Windows 10 - Both uefi and legacy
Tested all Claymore 6.4 to 9.3
Changed mobo from MSI z270 sli plus to Asus gaming pro z270
Changed risers v006a to v006c (molex powered to pcie powered risers)
Tried amd crimson 16.3 - 16.7 - 16.9.2 - 16.11 and even 17.2.1 - 17.4.3 using DDU
Virtual memory 16gb 32gb 40gb
even shorting the x1 pci pins
changing bios settings x16 gen1 or gen2 and to x1
used stock bios and modded bios, over voltage over power anything...
I have tried almost everything.

I am arrived to the point that its either bad GPU chips or bad mobos.

Waiting for a more reliable mobo like asrock pro btc or tb85 etc
After that, i'll sell these shitty rx 480 sapphire nitro +

If someone have found a solution to this OPENCL Hangout error, please post it here or make a new thread.

My conclusion so far is bad mobo or bad gpus. It's hardware issue.

Newbie here.  Any help appreciated.

Setting up my rig.  This worked yesterday for a 36 hour run

      - MSI Z170A Gaming M7
      - 1x Sapphire Nitro (no plus) 8G RX480  (rookie mistake slower memory)
      - 1x Asus Dual RX 480 8G
          BOTH GPUs mounted on mobo
      - windows 7 64bit
      - Claymore v 9.3
      - crimson v 17.4.3
      - firewall off

My config:

-epool USEast.Alpereum.ch:3002
-ewal (xxxxx)
-epsw x
-mode 1
-ethi 16
-tt 85
-asm 0
-wd 2
-benchmark
-fanmin 70

Ran great.  Just going for stability, not speed yet.  Both cards hashed around 24-25Mh/s

------------
Today the risers arrived. (MintCell v006)

Moved the the ASUS DUAL card to the riser.  Added a second ASUS DUAL card with riser.  Sapphire remained on mobo in PCIe slot.

Started Claymore.  All cards hashing about 24-25Mh/s

After 3 minutes of mining ATI driver crash.  One mining card stops mining.

Reboot.  Same behavior.

---------
Read the forums.  Tried to back off to the suggested v15.2 driver, but it would not run with my RX 480.  Settled on driver 16.11.5

Same behavior.

----------

Ran the rig with the Sapphire mounted in case and only 1 ASUS on riser.   This was stable.

-----------

Any ideas?  I have swapped risers to no avail.  I can run 2 cards stable, but adding the third causes a crash a few minutes into mining.

At the time of the crashes no cards are running super hot.  (60-70 C)

Thanks

To reduce variables I placed the two ASUS cards in the PCI-e slots on the mobo.  Tested it and had no problems.  This ruled out any bad cards.

Placed the cards BOTH on risers (no card on the mobo directly) and it failed within a few minutes of load.   Bad risers.

Anyone have a suggestion on good quality risers?

The powered risers are usually good.

I have bought 240 risers and had 2 bad in the bunch.  I have bought half of them from MintCell with no issues.  If your board has a Gen1 or Gen2 setting, try that, and make sure you turn off the PCIe power saver feature under your power options.

Hello mining community,

I would like to ask for some help. Recently bought a mining rig 6x RX 480

https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8GB-PowerColor-Radeon-RX-480-Red-Dragon-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1124443.html

I am using Biostar TB85 motherboard, 12 GB RAM, EVGA 1300w, 120ssd, intel celeron 2x2.8GHz, windows 10 64.

I have this problem. On minute after I start claymore miner hashrate on one card drop to 0 and I get report - GPU hangs in opencl call - Need to restart miner.

I am searching for solution for couple of days already.

- I tried different GPU drivers, if I try to install 17.3 or 17.4 crimson computer crash.

- Virtual memory is on 16GB.

- If I start a miner without this card which lost hashrate then same thing happen to other 5 cards, hashrate drop to 0 on all 5 cards.

- I reinstall windows and all drivers, still same issue

- I switch cables and cards, nothing positive happen.

- tried other miners, pools, old version of claymore miner..

- tried function -gser -eser

Tried probly everything i could find on google, still no solution. Not sure if that is specific problem of motherboard, graphic card? other parts are more or less standard mining parts and probly have nothing to do with that problem.

Hop someone can help or give any proposition what should I do or try.

Thank you

Best regards

It is because you did not set your virtual memory. Go into system, advanced settings and change virtual memory to 16000MB like the program tells you to do if you are mining on multiple cards. If you don't do that you get the Open CL hang error, the miner tries to restarts and it just hangs.

Since yesterday I started to get also hang on OpenCL. And I have set virtual memory to 32000MB, so it should be far enough. Have no idea what is causing it. I am trying now the problematic GPU to run on higher stock voltages on core and mem to see if it helps.

I am slowly trying to build a multi GPU ETH/DEC mining rig. I have my second RX 480 card in it and after adding the second card I get an OPEN CL hang error and one of the GPU idles down to a memory clock of 300 MHz and stops mining. I have added the flag and bat file for an automatic reboot but I would prefer to have this not happen at all. I downgraded drivers and it happens less often but it still happens. I set virtual memory to 24000MB. What types of things will cause this to happen and how can I prevent it in the future?
