I have heavy overclock, undervolt, modded 6 cards rig. I run hwinfo, if any card produce memory errors it will be unstable, i have to sometimes start miner 4-th 5-th time to not produce errors and then it runs stable all time ..

Yep, 20+ rigs running optiv1.6.1 and rock solid, not a burp for days.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong, it's just not stable for me. Any ideas?

I think folks are losing track of the fact that each GPU type has it's own hand-optimized GCN asm kernel. These GPUs are at max load. People are pushing their clocks, undervolting, running 6 and even 7 GPUs per rigs, mixing card types (and kernels). These rigs are running on the hairy edge. Any power perturbations are going to be an issue, etc. It's almost impossible to guess why some are running solid and some not. I guess it's the price we pay for pushing the envelop. Smiley Some will say that CM's miner is so much more stable, but to this point, he isn't using per card GCN asm optimized kernels, so ... we'll have to see if his next release starts exhibiting the same quirks.

Optiminer 1.6.1 seems to be some 15% faster on 280x and 270x, power draw is equal.

I see about a 15% increase on a Radeon R9 380X (175 h/s vs 200 h/s)and about a 35% increase on a Radeon HD 7870 (125 h/s vs 175h/s) using Optiminer. However, I've found Optiminer to be far less stable than Claymore. I've been having to restart it every 3-4 hours and I'm also seeing "block" pixelation pretty consistently while Optimer is running. I do not have these issues with Claymore and for that reason I've switched back. At this point in time neither application is perfect, so pick your poison. I'm hoping Claymore's next release can match (or exceed) the speed of Optiminer while remaining a stable build.

hmmmmmmm So far optiminer hasnt crashed on me once.  Maybe scale back the core clocks ?  running 380s, 390, 280x on 15.12.  Maybe i'm just lucky.

Same here.. Optiminer seems to be winning miner 5x R9 Nano at 2100/2200sol and i have 115 of them:)

R9 380X 200hs with optminer?, I have 250hs with R9 380X Nitro 1040/1625 -100mV

I think you should get more then that. My 290x is doing 340 sols under claymore on 16 driver not overclocked ad I have to keep the fan at 60%. On optiminer it runs at around 260. My 7950 is the one running at 265 sols

Yeah that sound right to me. The difference is my clocks are running at 980/1425, this is why your getting 50 h/s more than me. I am also running the 15.12 driver. Can you share the values your using to achieve that clock speed? I've been having trouble figuring out how to use AMD's overdrive utility to OC my cards more. Thanks!

I'm still looking for the 'ECO Bios' for Radeon R9 Fury. Looking to drop power consumption as low as possible while maintaining ballpark stock memory and core voltage (1000/500).

SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 Fury

Also interested in Bios for lower power consumption on RX 480 if someone has that laying around Smiley

A small reward is available to the person posting ECO Bios for Fury or 480 Smiley

All my ZEC rigs just locked up all at once. No idea if the pool died or not but it was a hard reset.

Had to physically yank the power cord from wall and replug.

Upon checking log, they all got the Temperature 511 error. So I dont think its a hardware issue since every rig got this error all at the same time.

Anyone got this issue also?

I had this issue a couple of weeks ago with my furys. Even one of them got fried. The problem seems to be the power spikes and PSU that can't provide enough power through a single pcie connector. Plugging two separate cables on each gpu solved it and it's running rock solid since then.

Does everyone think holding their eth is best idea right now? Do you think price will go up when reward drops in next couple months?

This is a Zcash mining thread (see it in the thread title?). Your question is off-topic, and there's actually an entirely different forum topic for coin market discussions. You may say "big deal", but people coming to the thread really don't want to wade through pages of posts, like yours, that don't have anything to do with the subject of the thread they came to read.

Honestly sounds like power spike or something of that nature. No way you just randomly had a hardware error hit all your rigs without outside interference.

I thought of that but my ETH rigs were running fine. Two rigs were even on the same breaker. The ZEC went off the ETH stayed on.

This is some software issue. Maybe it only happens when a pool dies.

it is a HW issue mate. check your risers & gpu these 2 are the main culprit.

I had this error before on some rigs, I assumed it was a riser or gpu. But this happened on all my ZEC rigs at the exact same time. Its definately software related. All of them got that same error at the exact same second according to the log

The profit is too low. We need a faster version .

Excuse me but when you have seen any better profits with faster version coming out?
If you would try to remember, then the best ZEC profits were during first days, when only very slow miners were available. They had low power usage that contributes to good profit, but key factor is how much miners are on it vs populariy among coin buyers. Can you name any single coin where it has not been this way?

Yea not many people can wrap their heads around that concept. People see MOOOR SPEED and immediately think that means more profits. These are probably the same people that are buying GPUs now and think they can still ROI in a few months  Roll Eyes

Of course these updates to public miners have a single major advantage, and thats leveling the playing field for home miners vs large farms that have been running 100 sol/s + since day 1

ROI in a few months - of course not. But in maybe 10 months or a year is doable. Depends on what coin will follow and what electricity rates you are paying.

No problem here 9x 280x and 5x 480 on flypool
