dont really see a boost for 470/480
only see that it went a bit lower with 5/8 sol each card

For the 7970/280x, the 9.3 is faster than the 9.2 and the same speed as the 9.1. so it is a good improvement.

NOTE: v9.3 is not performance release, in this version I improved compatibility/stability in GPU code and fixed Linux-related issues. You can use older versions if they are good and stable for you.

thank you!

"- added support for round robin DNS"
I'm not a network specialist, so I ask what that means and why is that feature good for us?
I red about round robin but I didn't find the answer. Sorry if it's a dummy question.

In theory, pools can balance servers load with this feature. Nicehash pool asked me about this feature so I added it. If a pool has several IPs and first IP fails, miner will try to connect to the second IP, etc.

Claymore, Is there any room for further hash improvement for RX cards or that's it?

I think it's possible to get better speed, but not too much.

Two of the rx 480 4gb mod overclock in my rigs have hit 275 h/s and 277 h/s so probably with some time and hard work claymore can get this speeds stable. But probably whats normal it will cost some time and hard work for a stable one. Btw: thanks for V9.3 !

when you will make new miner for monero???

The old miner is already very efficient.

yet it lacks lots of features of the current wrapper: data from rx400 fans, config file, off/on gpu, reboot.bat, etc...

claymore, my 8g rx480 shows memory usage of 60% and GPU usage of 100% with drops to 0% several times a minute. Do you think it might take another thread?

GPU and memory are busy completely, you can check it by starting two miner instances, you will not get more speed.
Due to PoW implementation, GPU cannot utilize all its resources, so you don't see 100%.

what is the reason why my hashrate drops
i have mixed gpu
2x280x = 220 each
2x480 ref =210 - drops to 185
1x470 black ed - 209

Probably the reason is drivers, miner compiled with 15.12 and 16.11.3.

Round robin is a method of load-balancing that will allow 1 FQDN (ie : something.pool.org) to reply multiples with IP addresses, it can help when one IP isn't replying fast enough, you can have several others host IP to contact as a backup

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round-robin_DNS

For the claymore miner, it would probably mean better timeout/resolve handling in case of the first IP adress of the pool DNS record is unavailable or slow it'll try to contact the others, must not have been the case before. Will probably help for stale shares (share calculated by you but with a result already being submitted by someone on the same pool as you).

It would probably help too big farm that could be throttled by some pools limiting the amount of request per remote IPs.

My 290s increased in hash rate. 470 is a bit slower.

I have a total of 20-25 sols more from 9.3.

Only 235 - Rx 480 nitro on v9.3

On v9.2 -257   Huh

I see same hashrate 235H/s on stock RX480 on both v9.2 and v9.3, drivers 16.11.3.

5 more hashes on the 7950 - up to 230 sols now - and a couple more on the rx480 - up t 248 sols

v9.3:

- improved stability and compatibility with various drivers.
- slightly improved mining speed for some cards (1-2%). About 340H/s on stock 390X.
- fixed issue in Linux version with GPU SEGFAULT and high CPU load.
- added support for round robin DNS.
- some bug fixes and minor improvements.

First results indicate a very small improvement of a few more hashes on both gpu's. Each around 203h/s. Slightly overclocked.
Can someone post current hashrate of HD7950 in Linux with version 9.3?
