Hi Guys,

I am running stock 2 stock R9 290s and cannot get more than an average of 35 hash per GPU.  Is there anything I can do to increase this?

Thanks.

Yeah, increase the clock speed while undervolting and decrease the memory clock, should get you some more hashes.

To what values?

Not sure about the exact values but around 1050/1200 should be okay.

The clock speed and memory clock are done with the command line arguments right?

I understand the undervolting is done with a utility, do I need to do that to get more hashes or is it just for power saving?  I have free power so don't really care, only concerned with noise and heat.

Thanks.

Awkward moment, when your 1070&1080 slower, than R7 370 Sad

Waiting for CUDA support. 2.5% fee? PFFF, I'll dig even with 20%, if speeds will raise ≥x3 times :'D

Questions for someone more knowledgable than myself.
1. One of my rigs has two R9 290's.  One has 4GB and the other 8GB.  They both get in the mid to high 40's H/s.  Does that make sense.

2. Does it make sense to mod these cards for zcash mining?  If so, what would you recommend in settings and mod software?

Yikes! R9 290 8GB - that's crazy rare.

Overclock both GPUs to 1100/1250 and you will get 50Sols

You can use Stilt bios to get a lower voltage and there are some memory tweaks if I recall.

Some statistics from me:

50 H/s on AMD Fury with cores unlocked to 60 (GPU #0: Fiji, 4096 MB available, 60 compute units)
and only little less... 44 H/s on 280X.

6 x Sapphire RX 470 4GB - 210 H/s. And 450w from wall. Cards temp 60 and fans 20%. Awesome miner. Smiley

Are you doing anything special to get such low power from the wall with 6 rx470's?

Biggest difference was on the 290. It would be crazy loud at 75-80% fan speed and now can't hear it at 55% fan.

Reference model 290.

what about the power consumption? Has anyone checked it ?

Its less then ETH mining.
Sure I noticed that, after switching from eth even fans are sometimes idle and it's much cooler in room. I mean genoil's miner was giving much less hashrate than this one, was wondering is there a difference between this two. I will able to check myself in a day or so and post here but if someone already checked I will sleep in peace

Yep, same here, most of my fans hardly spin anymore now that I switched most of my rigs over to Zcash mining. I am going to have to buy more rigs to stay warm this Winter. Wink

How many percent lower? My killawatt died . Couldn't measure.

I would say a good 18-20% lower. On a 5 GPU rig I went from about 600 watts mining ETH to under 500 watts, both are using pretty much the using same settings (I did reduce Voltage offset a bit more in Watt Tool). These GPUs have the BIOS mod (1500 strap) and I am also using Watt Tool to reduce voltages when mining either ETH and Zcash.

Claymore - you are CRAZY man!!! 38sol/s from old r7 370\2G!!!! I'm confused! GREAT!

I know, this is crazy. I just took all my R7 370's off eBay that now I feel I was giving away too cheaply.
