Thank you for bumping the thread. Please post your opinion in the reviews thread as well.
Dogie salvaged the "Spam" thread from Trash to Meta. You're welcome to post there as well.

I understand but these should really have all been collated here as it ends up being advertising for spondoolies on the forum that costs spondoolies but did not actually pay the forum. Unfortunately there is no merge function in this forum software which would be the ideal solution. Out of respect for the legendaries I've forgone the locking for now, but can I urge the reviewers themselves to lock their threads and refer back to this one once they have completed whatever they have to say instead then?

Interesting. Does Dogie have to pay for his 30 or so threads where he posts ads inside his guides circumventing the paid ads here in the forums?

Or say the 10 or so Technobit threads?

Consistency?

Have they been urged to collate their threads into a single one?

What about Antminer threads?

So true.

The other vendors didn't ask that a bunch of reviews be made for the same product then have their shills bump basically the same thing over and over. Same s%# different topic. It is a surprisingly good tactic to buy advertising space on the first page without supporting the forum that has helped bring recognition to your brand.

It's clever but shady, something I would expect more from someone like BFL. But then again Spondoolies tech has never been completely forthright with their product, they like to stretch the truth about their miners and spread fud about their competitors like Bitmain but I guess that is the nature of the beast.

This glorious SP20 should not be advertised as an at home miner due to the noise. Multiple reviews have stated that this is more like a 1.5 thash machine not a 1.7 under normal operating conditions yet it continues to be advertised at that rate.

You should be more honest with your hashrate and efficiency numbers. Do your calculations at 1500 and post the actual watts\ghash for that.

Hopefully I'll receive both my SP20s and S5 units before year end.  Really looking forward to the comparison. "Loud" is so subjective, its the only thing that has ever really been noted as a negative for the SPs.

I can post dB values, but most people already know these.
Paradoxically, fan 50 makes subjectively less noise than fan 40 (at least on my miner).
I think that there is some resonance from the metal cage, which makes it sound louder at (in my case) lower setting.

Sack dogie! Give Phil the job!

Phil will keep pushing that is sure.   Make comments in here till he is Dogie 2.

We do not need more of either.  Companies already pay dogie to be a part of their forum team... if you pay he will defend you.   Look at Avalon all that switched was leader, same people, same company, same building.   It is the same people but Dogie has you believe Avalon is great with just switching man at the top. Send miner or BTC and Dogie will mark as 80+ on his guide.

Every update on his ratings I mention that same thing  Grin once an AVALON always an AVALON..or once a scammer always a scammer in my book.

With the efforts of the legends tests my tests and sp techs new firmware. I now have 6 units running at 500-510 watts each and about 1030 gh each for  a total of 3060 watts and 6200gh .  Under 0.49 watts a gh.  A fan at 12 and 5 fans at 15 via ssh.

phil, would you care to post settings for 500-510W in your "unofficial" forum or main spond forum, please.

yes please ask me there so I do not double post

I'd say Philipma1957 has already a bunch of SP20 and I wonder what other thoughts and reviews would be interesting enough from him, outside his dedicated thread on SP20 and help posts/replies he's written now to almost everyone having a unit at home .. Smiley He needs another version of SPXX to be constructive Cheesy

IMHO the idea was to make legendary members speak out about the latest product. Now you can read reviews made by trusted members with various skills with respect to running a mining operation .. from some struggling to adapt to curious network configurations, up to the other side of the spectrum, ready to have their soldering iron out if something is not as per their plans. All these posts, made others, like raskul come with extra help and opinions. Hopefully, we'll all learn something new ..

Thank you are the third person to speak up for me.
I have not received a free miner. But I purchased 1 then 2 more today and spondoolies-tech gave me  nice discounts for those 3 units.  I am happy with the discounts. Almost a free miner. Or buy 3 at the price of  a little more then 2 would be more accurate.   In all I paid for 7 from them direct. With 1 ebay purchase that was very cheap with discounts.  If the seller was from this forum thanks.

No 120 volt 15 amp circuit home miner has ever done this well. It is just possible to run 3000gh on 1x 15 amp circuit

I found my sound meter and my garage with 6 units running is around 65db.
I can run the six units without opening the garage to the outside air. My garage is attached and I have the door to my laundry room open. Thus a lot of the air spills into the laundry room and the Home theater room. This truly a great piece of gear.
