There are quite a number of these reviews now cluttering up the hardware area and while it was nice publicity for spondoolies, I will be locking each thread after they have been up for a couple of days and I suggest further discussion regarding the reviews should go here. @spondoolies-tech, you may wish to create links to all the original review threads in your top post.

Con, please see
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9805837

i see your options as

a) censorship.
b) a better filing system for threads.

Locking threads is a deliberate attempt to seclude information away from browsing 'coiners and in this case, merely shows the lack of respect the Forum has for it's longer standing members.
PLEASE ALSO LOCK ALL OF DOGIES REVIEW THREADS, or MAKE CHILD BOARDS.

your comment quoted above, smacks of double standards and if you are locking one single manufacturer review threads and not locking others then this could be seen as you, and this Forum being complicit in a 'Restraint of Trade' that's a legal term, look it up

Without Prejudice.

eek, i never bother even using an SD card. perhaps I should consider backing up before each f/w upgrade?  Undecided

You have nothing to pack. You can only  download the software for the SD card.
sp20-recovery or sp20-sd-boot.

i had presumed there'd be a file i could pull of the SP-Tech website if something goes wrong.
I suppose being as cautious as I am, I tend not to upgrade f/w until i see a good amount of people have already installed it on their own and are happy with it.

A static ip on what, my router - my secondary router that is acting as a bridge between my first routers wifi and the ethernet that is connecting the to the miner, or the miner?

Static ip on miner.

You might want to review your main router dhcp setting. Sometimes if the optional field is left blank(default gateway & dns) some devices can not connect properly.

By using the same settings that allowed me to have the miner connect to the internet before (laptop network bridge, dhcp server running on bridge) i am now not able to connect to my miner and edit its settings. I am starting to feel like there is something up with this miner.... I've been trying to get it to work for around 10 hours total now and am getting pretty tired of it.

I'll put some more time in tomorrow, I appreciate all the help.
Dima from our team will PM you with his email to try and help you.
If all fails, do a micro SD recovery to bring the miner to it's default state:
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/13098521-sp10-sp2x-sp3x-recovery-sd-card-boot-sd-card-creation-instructions

I hope this helps with your setting static IP.   If it is set wrong use SD recovery as SP team suggested to gain access again.   Reading about your network I would use first router if possible, going 3 devices down just is kinda a cluster.

Once you have access to miner again hook computer to 1st router in your network.  (Were trying to make it easier and not have 3 devices in between the internet).  With computer go to command line and type in it "ipconfig".  This will show you your network settings.   With it being shown use this to fill in network static IP information (assuming DHCP is still not working for your network).  The first Lan IP address is the static address you will use for miner, make sure it is not being used by another device.

Hello!
so the only way i have been able to get mine to work is by connecting it to my laptop with a network bridge and a dhcp server running on the bridge. Thats not something i can have running all the time.

i purchased another router and am using that to bridge my wireless connections, and have that connect the miner to its LAN slots - this does not work with the routers DHCP enabled or disabled.

I tried a network bridge on my raspberry pi - this did not work either

I tried using the devices onboard usb slot with a wifi dongle, didnt work.

No idea what to do, im going to keep messing with the router I purchased though
Can you sniff with wireshark the router and SP20 DHCP negotiation?

i could try but i have no idea how
Ok, it will wait to our support on Sunday.
See if the router has DHCP related parameters and if so, try to tweak them.

If it is just DHCP you are having trouble with have you tried setting a static IP? It is under Settings - Network settings.    Make sure to use proper information for your network or it will be unreachable.

Mine was waiting for me when I got home today. I haven't done much but plug it in; it'll let it run overnight and see how it looks.
Baring catastrophe, I'll take it apart, get the soldering iron out, and write up a little review.

sounds good I will like to read it.  see your take on the fans.

Mine got delayed in shipping. I will review it as soon as I can get my hands on it.

EDIT:  Called FedEx to see why my package is still in Israel.  They said there is a "customs strike" that is holding up packages.   It may be a while before I get my hands on the SP20.   Cry

Looks like the strike has ended!  Hoping to get my SP20 on Saturday.

EDIT:  I guess the strike may not be over, but they re-routed my SP20 through Germany.  Hopefully I get it early next week.

EDIT:  Now it's in France!  I may end up with the most traveled SP20 ever!

12/19/14 EDIT:  It has hit the US!  Sitting in Tennessee waiting to be shipped across the States to it's new home.

I have been able to test in single digit cold in Celsius this week.   The miner has preformed perfect and here is a review with it mining in the cold- https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/review-spondoolies-sp20-in-the-cold-896656

I have to say this has become my favorite miner with the testing and doing a review.  Thanks Spondoolies for treating me as amazing online as you did in person at the North American Bitcoin Conference in Chicago.

I should have done a little more thanks for the chance.  Thank you Guy and the rest of the Spondoolies team. Was a great opportunity to do this and was fun.

I am a decent sized hobby miner.  And have a little of a wide variety of miners (A1 and newer gear at this point).   Not only has the SP20 hardware won me over, but the support of Spondoolies team did aswell.

The equipment it is just very well thought out.   For one it just works, I have 2 SP20's and had no issues with them.  From someone who had been dealing elsewhere with dead water pumps on miners, and another buying a controller board.  I cannot explain how much just working is a breath of fresh air.

I won't go on a long rant.  Just thank you Spondoolies and I look forward to future purchases from you.
