Seeing animals fighting around us is not fun especially gambling on this type of game. I know that there are many types of games where gamblers bet on animal fighting and this is famous in developing countries or the third world, but in developed countries it will be difficult to find it because they protect animals so much.
This type of gambling also exists in my country but it is done but private acsess because it is illegal even though gamblers can still play it in various ways, for example playing in hidden places and gamblers who come have been filtered first in various ways.
If I had the opportunity to join that gambling community, I would still prefer not to take part in betting and even want to watch it, unless it's just online gambling where the animals that are fighting are only in virtual form, not real animals that can injure one another.

Good idea, indeed my country there are still some people who do gambling with fighting chickens. But I'm not sure they'll switch to this model. The reason is that they don't understand technologies like NFTs. Need introduction or socialization. They prefer cash to be received directly without intermediaries.
Maybe for gamblers who are tech-savvy it would be a good solution. But for traditional people, it seems that they don't want to know and learn.

To me, that's also unpleasant because it's the same as us torturing animals to satisfy our desires and hopefully, that's outlawed by every government. You may gamble and use any media but don't use animals. However, gambling with animals still occurs in some Asian countries and they can gamble in hidden places. The government has noticed this and banned gambling with animals, but there seems to be some community in some areas that cannot detect it easily. This requires more effort from the government to make its citizens aware that those who gamble using animals have abused these animals.

I guess you are living on one of the Asian countries because this kind of activities are very common there especially when there are town festivals. There will always be a schedule for the cock fights but it's strange on why you are not used to it. You didn't watch it often even when you are still a kid?

But, if you think about it, we also kill chickens using sharp knives because they are a source of food therefore we should not worry about it. There are countries that banned it because are not used to it and they are also not allowing gambling in their country. Culture doesn’t = right.  Take a look at Iran right now. Forcing women to wear certain clothes and do certain things had long been considered “tradition”. Now many Iranians have woken up and realized how utterly ridiculous it is and how wrong it is to not allow for freedom and equal rights.

Well, for me animal fighting is not fun and should not be use as tool for gambling. But if it's not prohibited by the Government, these people won't stop using animal, because as you've said it's fun for those who are engaging themselves in this kind of activity. Anyway, in our country, cock fighting is quite popular especially here in our place. Many men elders are taking care of rooster as business (they sell it when ready) or use it for fighting for their own satisfaction. We have an arena where cock fighting is held, it's legal. Recently they even had a promotion called "fastest kill" and the prize is $600 plus a brand new motorcycle.

FYI only the online version was stopped there is still cockfighting in stadiums and specialized cockpit arenas, its a tradition for many countries and so instead of totally banning it, governments just regulate it so they can make money out of it, it's hard to fight tradition, only on a total communist country can they stop tradition, it may look cruelty to animals but these gamblers don't see it that way they only want to make money and they will just eventually cook the chicken who loss in the match.

I am not really that fond of events like this, and my reasoning is that while a human can decide whether they want to fight against another person for monetary gain, as it happens in boxing, MMA and other fighting sports, animals do not really have this choice, if their owner has decided they want them to fight then they must fight, so they are being forced into an activity that may cost them their life against their will, so I prefer to not participate on any bet that has anything to do with something similar.

Oh yes definitely! In fact, my grandfather used to have a farm dedicated in raising cockfighters as he used to participate in competitions in Araneta. Then, his fight would be televised on national television, along with other cockfighters as well. I remember in our farm, we also have this ring in the middle where these chickens would be put to the test and for training. The funny thing is, if my grandfather believes that if a chicken in his match won, then he has all the genes of a fighter. So, he would devote time raising the offspring of such.

When my grandfather passed away, my father took over of the farm and raised some chickens as well for this kind of fight. I used to accompany my dad in tournaments and the betting environment there is notorious and fierce! I will never forget those memories and this kind of gambling, while others argue may be cruel, as it has a special place in my heart.

It's not fun at all because you don't have to see them fighting until one of them dies just to have a winner. I understand that it is gambling, it is better to stay in casino games and sports betting if you're starting to feel entertained and fun with any gambling that needs an animal to participant.

I feel pity when there's the fight and the other rooster has to die because of those slashes.

I experienced raising a fowl and later on have it on cockfighting.  Although I won, I feel very much sorry for what happened to my rooster.  After that incident I never get involved in cockfighting again.  I never understand why people are having fun watching these animals killing each other.   It is a barbaric thing for me.


I thought gambling is forbidden in Muslim countries and yet these Muslim people are enjoying how these rams fight each other while betting on which one will be victorious.  Isn't the authority doing anything to prevent this kind of gambling activity?  If they allow this then it is funny to think that they banned gambling that doesn't involve sacrifices of animals while they allow this kind of gambling that is too cruel to animals.  


With the advancement of technology, why use a live sample when the technology can emulate the event?  I think gambling that involve animal fighting can be digitized, emulating and simulating things.  I think horse racing is already simulated so why not create a simulation of cockfighting, horse fighting, fish fighting, ram fighting...  Breeding and raising can be simulated too, since Tamagotchi app if anyone remember has been around for many years.  This way, people can still have the fun of raising and challenging others pet but in digital world, and prevent real animal losses or injury.
