Lately, there are accusations that Binance and Coinmarketcap have been trying to manipulate the data to let Binance be on top of the exchanges.

The accusations came from Huobi: https://twitter.com/CiaraHuobi/status/1261269765395345409

I guess this could be the beginning of seeing coinmarketcap distorting some data to fit their narratives. Time to go and look for alternatives like coingecko, just saying.
there will be competition between exchanges, I would have guessed when I saw binance in the first position of the coin market. however, coingecko can be used as an alternative if we don't like CMC. it's just that, I assume that CMC is much better for now than the previous CMC because honestly, there is a lot of data that is hard to believe in the previous CMC.

For example, I heard lot that P2PB2B is one of the bullshit exchanges because it has fake volume, but why on coinmarketcap can in the top 3?
Whereas on Coingecko P2PB2B is ranked 114, Does coingecko know if it's bullshit exchange? so it's not in the top 3 like in coin marketcap

So which one do you trust more?
It's a shame that Coinmarketcap are so blind that they aren't able to figure out which exchange has fake volume or not, but now that Coinmarketcap belongs to binance team we might actually notice a new fair rating from them soon

CMC have been provides sufficient information about the price and other stuff we needed. The current and previous graphs and what coins would be on the top lists. I'll use coingecko when the token is not listed in CMC and sometimes for comparing to it. I think CMC will continue to improve their platforn since Binance already acquired them. There's also have headlines about what's happening in crypto world and I found it very useful to determine the current trend in the market.

I personally trust Coinmarketpcap to see the top coins but I also check some information on other websites,
Coin rankings on Coinmarketcap or Coingecko can seem to be adjusted according to the needs of the coin owner, but we should not be prejudiced if we don't have facts and information.

both coinmarketcap and Coingecko are biased data because they want here to earn money. and more then 80% exchange doing wash trading and showing fake volume so we didn't rely fully on their data. but i think Coingecko is little bit better than coinmarketcap.

Personally, I use more to review cryptocurrencies and search exchanges more coinmarketcap. Coinmarketcap is a year older than coingecko. Coinmarketcap is more popular and probably even more used for me.
I use Coingecko occasionally, but its advantage is that it includes cprytocurrencies that are not on the coinmarketcap. So he is also helpful sometimes.

If we look at the usage, then both sites can be used by anyone except beginners who still have to learn a lot about the real exchange rates, but in general, people who already have a lot of experience in crypto, certainly know which is better. so they can also sort out themselves or compare themselves between the two.
I still prefer to use CMC over the others. I still trust their performance and about friendly app. Some people says that CMC is little bit complicated but its easily to figure it out ones you will use it frequently. Its now easier to determine the price the real price since its already acquire by the top cryptocurrency exchange right now.

I would go with coinmarketcap.
but coingecko has more user friendly features and doesn't require much of a data when loading

but still on the info they provide id go with coinmarketcap.

Coinmarketcap is often used and mentioned more when investors need to check the value of coins. I think both are good, but each website has its strengths, so each person will have different options. I have used the familiar CMC for the last few years, and until now everything seems to be very good for me. However, what CMC needs to improve is to eliminate fake trading volumes, as this can put investors at risk.

I have mostly switched from CMC to Coingecko.

CMC is compromised now that Binance owns it.

Recently, coingecko has been showing some consistency. They also show more coins than coinmarket. For trust all this site are run by humans there are tendencies for data rearrangement. So I will not put 100% trust and always be careful of the information I take in.

I prefer to take the data from the exact exchange where I trade my tokens especially when it comes to price and 24hr volumes. Coinmarketcap and Coingecko give average information by adding and striking an average from the exchanges where a coin is listed. Normally, they delay in updating their data and this makes some of the information they display not reliable.

CMC is now become centralized, whereas Coingecko is still not controlled by a centralized system. Another reason for not using CMC anymore is that is now very slow and takes a lot of time to load because of the advertisement. Coingecko on the other hand is fast and simple to use.
I also don't like CMC ads that they display quite a lot, sometimes if the connection is not too good, to open CMC must wait some time, but unlike Coingecko their website is simpler than CMC and their coin list is also more complete
The ads is a way for CMC to get the money. Coingecko needs to rebuild its UI as it's really annoying to see that. CMC is much more simple but in term of data collection and formula and I still prefer coingecko rather than CMC but I think there was a better site called cryptorank.

Everyone has a different perspective but I like CMC more because this site has everything I like. In addition, CMC data is much better than Coingecko and has more accurate data. At the moment, CMC has a lot of support from Binance so I believe that there is no website comparable to CMC at this time. Of course not always accurate but I prefer to use CMC.

I prepare coinmarketcap it was reliable and you will see the actual price unlike coingecko actual price was not shown just the price you are going to think if it is the buying or the selling one and you need to review it on the exchange while coinmarket everything was there chart value and exchanges of a coin or a token.
