Coingecko comes with lots of options with coins/tokens exchange listing and active markets. i prefer coingecko because they have more token than coinmarket cap. Coinmarketcap help to identify the value of a token even in your ethereum wallet. in term of volume and marketcap, i used coinmarketcap. Also coinmarketcap ha more fan base than coingecko.

CMC is now become centralized, whereas Coingecko is still not controlled by a centralized system. Another reason for not using CMC anymore is that is now very slow and takes a lot of time to load because of the advertisement. Coingecko on the other hand is fast and simple to use.

Coingecko "knows" that it is a fake volume but they can't really reach to everyone at all the times and not as active as CMC because their job is harder to figure out who is right and who is fake. So, basically cmc and coingecko is used for different stuff if you ask me.

If you simply want to check the prices of the big currencies, you do not have to check coingecko because it doesn't offer anything new. Let's say you want to check bitcoin price for the past 3 months, you can do that on CMC easily, its right there, you can do that on coingecko as well, so there is really no difference when you are doing something as mainstream as that. However if you want to do something like checking a smaller coin, or checking a fake volume, that is where coingecko puts its difference.

Best Site is CoinMarketCap is a website that provides cryptocurrency market cap rankings, charts, and more. Their website tracks capitalization of various cryptocurrencies by listing prices, available supply (amount of coins/tokens that is currently in circulation), trade volume over last 24 hours, or market capitalizations. The website has historical snapshots, currency converter calculator, crypto glossary, API service, events calendar, and offers a watchlist for users to personalize. The website also has a special cryptocurrency price ticker widget for other sites. The website is aggregating prices of cryptocurrencies and calculating price averages that are displayed to users.
Coingecko all has these features and so are those other sites, it just go down to how they ranked the projects and the exchanges and how fast they index the volume of the particular coins, at this point of time with so many coins and so many exchanges it's time to have at least three for comparisons so you can come out with a decision.

For example, I heard lot that P2PB2B is one of the bullshit exchanges because it has fake volume, but why on coinmarketcap can in the top 3?
Whereas on Coingecko P2PB2B is ranked 114, Does coingecko know if it's bullshit exchange? so it's not in the top 3 like in coin marketcap

So which one do you trust more?

Coinmarketcap is good to get the information about the coins, not exchanges which we know the top exchanges in cmc are not that good.
I prefer to using coinmarketcap site to find out about crypto coins listed there, but i will using other site than coinmarketcap to find out the crypto exchanges. anyway, using only 1 site to be our guide to buying coins is not good, we should see other listing sites as well.

the coinmarcetcap site and the coingecko site are one of the global sites for displaying coin data including prices and trading volumes. for me personally do not really trust them it's just that I use both sites only for needs such as references or see about coins and nothing more than that.

I use both but I prefer using coingecko more because some extra features like if you click on a particular coin you can input the amount of that coin you intend to buy and see the amount.
Yes, the feature you said is indeed only in Coingecko, so Coingecko is a plus for that feature, because in CoinMarketCap there are no such features, and personally I also use both even though I myself also use Coingecko more often.

That's what makes Coinmarketcap in a bad light putting an exchange in good standing, Coingecko has indexed a lot of coins that are not on Coinmarketcap, some of the coins that are not listed in Coinmarketcap are on Coingecko, but I still trust both market graph because they show, data that can help me decide.

I use both, but I also do not really believe the volume that is there, because we don't know volume in both is real or fake

Though Coinmarket cap is very popular and many people use and trust its data but I like coingecko most use often use it. I think they use different methods to calculate data that's why we may see different outputs sometimes but I think they both great in their place. I have seen the news that Binance is going to take over CMC so we may see a very significant change in that platform very soon.

I take coin listing site just for the reference of price, to see where the coin are listed to and to get the links to the official website, thread and channels. Exchanges volume means nothing as most of them are indulged in fake trading. They team up with fake tokens and let them generate transactions that would make the volume of both the token and exchange to rise.
You are right. I totally agree with you on this. I also use these sites to see where a coin is listed, to see its value, to get a website link. From here one can get an idea about the complete crypto market. But in this case I always use Coinmarketcap.

Maybe in my opinion CMC still provides data according to market conditions and many people still use it for analysis of prices, coins / tokens that circulate both old and new along with information that is considered necessary by everyone.
Coinmarketcap currently has a very good platform because it is used by many people as a reference to determine what coins you want to buy, but you should know that Coingecko is currently also aggressively making developments that can beat Coinmarketcap someday because only time will provide the answer .

for now, it looks like the quality for the coin marketcap is better because it's controlled by CZ. it's just that, so far, both of them are indeed useful, although many people say that it's manipulation and so on. however, listings on both sites can be used as a reference, and it is quite easy to find information about prices and markets of these sites. it's just that I use Coinmarketcap more often than Coingecko.

CZ only took control of it very recently, and he has asked people on Twitter poll for some suggestions or recommendations,,, and none have yet been implemented so that will take time. Let us give credit to CMC it had a load of data and for years it was the only reliable one. Coingecko and others I hope improve but can we stop making enemies for a service none of us actually need?

My favorite is coinmarketcap because data is more accurate and detailed. I'm not sure if it stays my favorite when Binance is controlling coinmarketcap but I hope so. Coingecko has also a chance to make improvements, so we'll see what happens.

I use Coinmarketcap more than I use Coingecko! For me Coingecko is there to check some numbers
I saw at Coinmarketcap.
Now we can expect things to get interesting for Coinmarketcap. Now Binance will be in charge for this
site and I believe we will see some changes, I am just not sure what kind. It's a nice move from Binance,
I hope they will make one of the best places for crypto-currencies.

I haven't used coingecko too often so far, because I was very pleased with the updated information that coinmarketcap offers. Coinmarketcap presents a real-time price update of cryptocurrencies. CMC also has a very simple interface. Both Coinmarketcap and Coingecko have advantages and disadvantages, so both can be used for more complete information.

I recently saw the Coin market Cap.Despite being much better, it is giving a little less service.I don't trust Coin Gecko much.Coin market cap is the best.
However, there is some fake volume which is very steam.Who ignores all this?Have to work.
