If we can buy accounts , is it possible for me to buy a legndry member?
It would be awesome to have good respect Cool
not many legendary account are for sale(so difficult to achieve the legendary status), if there will be any you'd have to pay 3+ bitcoins.

I don't think some legendary members will sell thier accounts it's took so much time to be legendary. If I be legendary I will keep it. Grin

If i'd status of legendary , i would never sell it!
It's just too good to sell ,the legendary is not about name but how much you have earned with your experience and knowledge and how much you've contributed to Bitcoin community . I don't think it should ever be sold ,i'll wait for the day when i'll be legendary . It'll happen in a year i think but it will be amazing for me Smiley

did bitcoin prices influence the price bitcointalk account?
i only ever read from an old thread and compare the current price, and differences price is quite striking

Since the bitcoin price is on down trending , I think it will affect into account's prize

It's possible but I've only ever seen a couple sold and for quite a lot (around 2btc). I'd recommend just putting in the effort to achieve that rank over time instead.
I would never invest 450$ to buy a account , that is totally crazy.
I think i will wait 1-2 years to get legendary and sell mine Cheesy

I think you need more effort to do it. For example : your account will worth much higher if you're in default trust or green trust

it is possible, but the price will be high! And it's not worth if you want make ROI, because many signature campaign only give you same rate hero member (and sometime same with Sr.member).
And even if you make post with legendary account, you won't automatically get respect from another user.
Your post content will determine that, if you don't have a lot experience about bitcoin (which legendary member usually have it), your post will look like member Cheesy

yeah not worth and totally crazy Cheesy
but if the buyer don't care about money (maybe rich buyer), it will be another story Tongue
and I think for next 2 years, rate of legendary member will be different compare to now

I don't think merely being a Legendary gives you respect, especially if you buy the account. You need to earn respect over time.

Only legit reason would be people who are trying to jump up into a signature campaign that is closed to lower ranks, and open to higher ranks.

That would in my book also be not legit, as you're buying an account to get improve your own "forum status".

Worth thinking about is also the reputation of the account for the seller. If someone sells a bitcoin account, you can never be sure what the buyer does with the account. He might post stupid things, or he might orchestrate a scam, that might lead the seller into being part of an investigation.

For example, if there was a new pirateat40, he might buy tens of account to prop up his ponzi, and once it all went up in flames and an investigation was launched, account ip's might be collected, and by using isp-registries home addresses extracted, and you might have your house searched and all your computer equipment confiscated as you could've been complicit in the crime. Unlikely? Not if the ponzi/scam runs in the millions of dollar range. All for making a few satoshi's. If the account can't be traced back to you, and you do not have any reputation that might be damaged, it's another matter, but still unethical.

Personally I think account trading should be denied, as I can't see what legit reasons there are for doing it, but I can see many reasons that are not legit.

I think that is main reason people use.  I can say you will never see me buying or selling accounts.  Just is a little less legit/honest then I care to go for lack of better term.

I do think trafficking in account's would get you looked down upon by many members.  But as per current rules it's not something they stop.   I don't keep up with politics on it as I know it's not something I want to be part of.

But as far as reasons I've heard people say signature campaign is most "legit" reason.  I'm not saying it's good, as it is cheating a system.   But almost every other option is scamming most likely.

Personally I don't see why accounts should be tradeable at all?

What legit purposes are there for buying old accounts?

Only legit reason would be people who are trying to jump up into a signature campaign that is closed to lower ranks, and open to higher ranks.

Other than that there is not a whole lot of "legit" reasons.   Most of the other reasons in my opinion involve some sort of scam.

I'd sell if I was a legendary member if offered a good price.
I wouldn't see the point in selling now.
It'd be for pittance

I would not sell even with a good price.  I still have month's before chance of Legendary.  But i just have put so much effort into my account.  In a weird way it almost becomes part of you, you use it so often.

Between my feelings, and chances of someone using an account that is linked to be for bad keeps this account from ever being sold.

Yes LFC_Bitcoin you are right but i also know some users who have not sold their account either for 10 Bitcoins, and it was not legendary account, was member account hero. So i say that is another way to make money but not everyone is willing to sell.

Selling accounts is another way to earn Bitcoins should not be surprised either. Another thing is for what purpose are sold and bought, i'm sure some users do with intent to defraud, so we must be ever alert.

i mean are we going to do a bussinness of this bitcointalk acounts? we do earn but im not willing to sell for any good price i dont need to put a new acount relly start making earning of this that way
i dont think its honerable to sell my intelectual propriety.

I don't see much difference in selling accounts than posting rubbish for payments. I guess people have just spotted the potential in the market and are filling the demand for higher ranked accounts. The money is obviously there if you put the effort in.
