I personally have never seen a Legendary account for sale. I'd imagine people would pay 2 or more bitcoins for one.

why? there is no point in paying that much for a legendary when the earning rate between it and hero is the same, the cost of account should reflect his earning in the sig campaign nothing, else

they are literally worthless if it wasn't for sig campaigns

Wrong on all points. Some campaigns do offer slightly more for Legendaries, but people pay more for them merely because of the relative rareness of the rank (it takes a long time to achieve and many older members dont wish to sell their account). I know of a Legendary that went for 3btc a while ago but I doubt you'd get that for it now but people will still pay more for the. Accounts worth does not merely get its value from sig campaigns but thats what they're mostly bought for now but if sig campaigns were banned then people would still buy them for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest reason would probably be to scam and accounts would be cheaper to buy with no campaigns but people wouldn't be giving them away.

i'm actually right on all, what's the point of selling account if there weren't signature, scamming? yeah that's good, actually signature are helping indirectly the community(this is something that no one has thought about), by providing a reason to sell your account, besides scamming innocents users

also aside from few campaigns(you should point me what are those that offer a very high payout for being legendary...), the rest(the profitable one, i don't care about the others) do not provide advantages for legendary members

You can't claim to be 'right on all' then contradict yourself in the very same sentence. Yes, people would buy accounts to scam. That would probably become their primary purpose if signature campaigns wern't here. People would also buy them just to get a head start for their business or whatever they're selling (people will trust or have more faith in a Hero account than a Newb for example). People also buy them to get around annoying posting restrictions, so that's three points on how you're wrong. You said accounts would be literally worthless, but you are literally wrong.

I suppose the more I think about it when I become legendary, it's quite sad but I'll be kind of proud of the time & effort I put in to get there.

Whatever the going rate is currently, 2 bitcoins?

That seems pretty lame tbh, it'd take a lot more than that (at the current price) to persuade me to sell this account.

The going rate is whatever the going rate is and you will only know until someone tries to sell one, which is rare and if someone does try sell one they'll likely do it on the quiet. I think between 1-1.5 is a good estimate.

Lol, what???
Wait, did you just say that a "LEGENDARY" account might get sold below BTC2???
Do you even know how much time it takes to become a Legendary member of the forum???
It takes almost more than 2 years and do you think someone will sell that account either, or even if they will, for that much only what you suggested???

Why does Legendary suddenly make an account priceless? Just because it takes time doesn't mean anything. I think it takes 8 months for a Senior and 1.4 for a Hero but they've been going for as little as 0.2 and 0.4 recently. I think the highest someone paid for a Legendary was a little under 3btc and that was when accounts were worth much more than they are now and Heroes were going for well in excess of 1btc. A Legendary isn't really worth much more than a Hero in the grand scheme of things, but I'm interested to see what you think a Legendary is worth.

I said this thing somewhere earlier already that the cases might be different, including but not limited to, trust of the account, quality and quantity of posts, constructiveness, etc. And yes, those accounts you have been talking about might either be hacked or the ones whose possessors were not able to sign a message for an old bitcoin address associated with those accounts...

Don't know for how much legendary accounts would go for now. But the time it takes is important as there are only a few of those. Not important for sig campaigns. Difference in pay there is minimal. Probably easier to join some campaigns at best. But legendaries are more well established in the forum. They get more attention and may seem more trusted when starting businesses. Which unfortunately also makes them good for scamming.

good idea to take advantage of the market and low prices right now as I'm sure it's only a matter of time  good campaigns appears

I wonder what a Legendary account would sell for.. Haven't seen one yet for sale that I'm aware of?

Read the few posts above. Nobody will really know until one is up for sale. Quickseller may be able to give a better estimate but I doubt if one came on the market it'd go for anywhere near what they used to or what people are speculating/assuming they'll go for in here.

I guess it depends what kind of financial state people are in. Somebody might be in financial trouble & need cash quickly, maybe for an overdue bill or something. I personally wouldn't do it but maybe a legendary member could be desperate for 1.5 bitcoin quickly.

I guess we will never know everbodies finances or personal issues.

You cannot evaluate the prices for any member levels/status as each account consists of different quality, quantity and constructiveness of posts...
If you buy/sell accounts without checking/taking into consideration such things, then you might be in loss already...

lol whats not ridiculous about it? its not just buying account, its about also buying trust involved in particular account. Any bought account shouldnt be taken seriously.
but im guessing the account sales will drop along with prices, since theres a bunch of account hoarders, with even 50+ accounts that are farmed just to be sold, and as soon as they get ranked up, its bye bye to
that market, atleast in an noticable amount.

Yes, you are buying trust for yourself and you must maintain it for your own if not you will buy this account for nothing so there is no ridiculous about. It doesnt matter you buy it high rank or not, the position of your trust is depends on you so if you buy it for cheat I guess the consequences is just the same as others

did bitcoin prices influence the price bitcointalk account?
i only ever read from an old thread and compare the current price, and differences price is quite striking

Possibly. When the price of Bitcoin is dirty cheap like it was 2 months ago, users were on that grind to rack up as much BTC as they could so they could store for profits. Was annoying as hell.

Reading this realy surprises me; were there actualy legendary members sold ?
It feels a bit off selling it, since its like two years of your life, cant imagine why would people sell it for few bitcoins.

cheers

I think they will stop in this bitcoin things or may be he already got a lot of profit from bitcoin so he wants to sell his account for us to join signature camapaign. But its a little bit pity to sell their precious account

people are allowed to sell accounts on the forum? That seems a bit shady, no?

I dont think so. There are rules where people can sell their account here in this forum. It doesnt break the rules

yeah well I think its shady! I cant believe there are rules allowing people to sell accounts. That's ridiculous

Why that should be ridiculous? That is fair for buying and selling account? What the problem with it? Nowadays people buying account to get their signature campaign and there got minimal may be full member. If there are no rules like that we can't even participate in signature campaign and need to create a full member account. That is just wasting time
