When Srinivasan was the chairman of the ICC, he infamously proposed to reduce associate funding to zero. Finally a compromise was reached, and it was reduced from $56.25 million per year to just $20 million per year. If that was not enough, the changes to eligibility criteria made it more difficult for teams such as Thailand to receive ICC funding. Now majority of the funding goes to teams such as Oman, which are fully comprised of non-citizens. I am curious about the next funding cycle for 2024-31. Not expecting much, though.

I am really not expecting any improvement in the funding for the associate countries. If anything I am actually expecting it to reduce. And that's because the ICC absolutely does not care about the funding of the associate countries. I heard that ICC was trying to decide whether they will give the money according to the success of the team. That is not bad because it will convince the team to perform better. But the problem is if that happens a lot of associate teams with native players are going to be ignored. And that really should not happen as it will destroy the improvement of the popularity of cricket. ICC should soon realize that cricket cannot be restricted to 10 or 12 teams from now on. To save cricket the number of teams has to increase and so does the funding of associate teams.

Right now, as ICC system is working mostly giving impression we are still in colonial time because sadly they fail to have any solid system or way of spread this game which is more important and can increase income of this sports organization which is important here they are now working on having different bids for media rights which is good, but they need to work on other things as well which is surely needed of the time as well.

If they do work with better system then surely they can take good money from few other regions as well, and they can stop some blackmailing of big-4 but no one doing any better thing for this and just concentrating on their deep pockets profit which is coming from these puppets which are having own interests and never work on mutual way of this game right now franchise cricket is surely a big impact, but this is also going without any system which is surely needed to follow as we have in UEFA.

Right now there is actually no certainty. The way things are going right now I think it will certainly be restricted to some countries in the world. And a lot of big countries are not interested in cricket at all. And a lot of people think that cricket being time-consuming is one of the biggest reasons for that. I agree with that but I also think another reason why cricket is not popular is that ICC does not push the game to be popular. And the funding always seems to be unfair to the associate Nations. This is going to be funny to hear but ICC is racist the way they are found in the associate Nations. I am not saying that the associate Nations should be funded like India or Australia I am just saying that they should be funded well enough to improve.

Seems to better not to provide such fund in the country where the cricket team is organized with non-citizens. Especially in several countries like UAE or Oman. This trend has started which is a big threat for cricket in some cases for the future. I think if ICC bans this kind of practice completely then something good can be expected from them.

Funding matters. Thailand hardly gets any funding from the ICC, since they are an associate nation. Failure to qualify for the world cup had a very negative impact on their finances. On the other hand, Bangladesh receives around $16 million per year and nowadays they have also started giving more attention to the women's game. On top of that, none of the Thai players feature in franchise T20 leagues such as WBBL and W100. The Bangladeshi players on the other hand have that advantage as well.
It is true. The funding is very different for Thailand women to Bangladesh women. In addition, this was supposed to be an easy match for Bangladeshi women. And that's what they did. When it comes to quality, Bangladeshi women are far superior to Thai women in terms of what they offer. Nonetheless, this was a very dominating performance on the part of Bangladesh women. However, it is going to be the next game where Bangladesh women will be tested to the fullest extent. They will play against Pakistan women. That is going to be the true test for Bangladesh women. Pakistan is better than Bangladesh and I think Bangladesh women will have to play really well to beat them.
Today we have two matches in Women's Asia Cup with first match just completed between Pakistan vs Bangladesh which easily won by Pakistan with a good bowling from their bowlers prevent Bangladesh to have any solid target and end 20 overs with just 71/8 which was achieved by high-flying Pakistani women's in just 12.2 overs with the lost of 1 wicket a good thumbing win for them with this now these women's are at the top of the table with 2 wins out of 2 matches.

In second match of the day India vs Malaysia India done good job and having solid target of 181/4 Sabbhineni Meghana and Shafali Verma completed a hundred runs stands which is good achievement for them in reply Malaysia were at 16/2 in 5.2 overs when rain ruined this match now we have positive for the Indian women's after amazing batting performance Indian Women's won by 30 runs D/L method.

I miss the days when associate nations used to defeat test nations. Kenya's win over West Indies in 1996, Nepal's win over Afghanistan in 2014, and Bangladesh's defeat to Canada in 2003 were some of the most entertaining moments in cricket history. But we can't expect such upset nowadays, after Srinivasan-Pawar mafia destroyed Associate cricket during the second decade of this millennium. Women's cricket used to be competitive, but nowadays it is also moving towards big-3 centric. I just hope that cricket won't end up like baseball, which is essentially restricted to the United States.

As long as there is big 3 in cricket, New countries won't be able to join in since its against the interest of big 3 that new countries to join cricket. I see Afghanistan as only the country that has made its way to all three formats and i don't think ICC has any role in it.

It was a very easy matter for Thailand women's team to win the match of Bangladesh women's team. I have been noticing that Thailand women's team has not always performed well. I think that the qualification of Thailand women's team to go to the World Cup is on the way to disappear.  Bangladesh women won this match very easily which is really positive for Bangladesh

I don't think it's a big deal to get a win against a weak team. It doesn't matter whether the team is week or stronger in any tournament. But Bangladesh can defeat any of these three countries like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka? if they able to do it that deserves respect. Whereas in men's cricket they have been fighting for a long time but not doing well.

I dont follow women cricket but in men's cricket Bangladesh cricket is complete failure. They got test status 20 years back and since then they have very few wins in bilateral series. Indian women has recently started performing well in cricket by beating England women team 3-0 in ODI series.

I saw the betting lines between Thailand Women and Bangladesh Women and i wanted to place a bet but i checked all the platforms to see the match live but unfortunately it was not available because i have not seen Bangladesh Women perform well against the top teams and hence i am not sure what to make of the match situation. They should telecast the match either in YouTube for anyone to get interested in these matches even to place a bet.

I am very optimistic that India will win the Women's Asia Cup this year. In a word, Indian women team is the best from all the aspects. The Their current form has really impressed the Indian supporters thus making them more likely to win this tournament. But it goes without saying that since it is T20 game, anything can happen due to a slight carelessness. But overall I think India is favorite.
Yes it could be because they have really perform a great match in previous match against Sri Lanka their bowlers perform big role. They able to down Sri Lanka at 109  I also think that india  most strong team on the table -20 .  I think if they can continue this then their is nothing a really hard work

The Women's Asia Cup will start from today, with Bangladesh taking on Thailand in the first match. A total of 7 teams are taking part. Apart from the four test nations (Afghanistan is not participating), three of the associate nations are also taking part (Thailand, Malaysia and United Arab Emirates). Last time, the number of participants was 6, and back then the trophy was won by Bangladesh. India will be the favorites this time, especially after they white-washed England 3-0 in the ODI series. Each of the teams will play a total of 6 matches in the group phase, and the top-4 will proceed to the semi-finals.

The Bangladesh women versus Thailand women match has already ended. It is good to see the Bangladeshi women playing so well. They have won this match quite convincingly. With 9 wickets and 50 balls left this was a Goodwin for Bangladesh women. Generally, this type of when is not often seen in T20 cricket. But I am still sad that Shamima Sultana did not get her half-century. Rumana Ahmed was the best bowler for Bangladesh. 3 wickets for 9 runs in 3 overs. That is just amazing. I think it is going to be a good tournament. And even though Bangladesh is performing well as the defending champion I don't think they will be able to defend it properly. India is obviously going to be the hot favorite.

^^ Good to see Malaysia and Thailand in the Asia cup. This should happen in Men's Asia cup too.

Indian Women's team is too strong in the Asia Cup. The recent form is impressive so we can expect them to continue with their momentum, unless some upset happens similar to the 2018 edition.

Thailand women's team is performing badly for the last few months. The failure to qualify for the world cup seems to have impacted their morale. And Indian women are a class apart. In Asia, there are no real competitors for them at any level. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh teams are far behind in terms of quality and consistency. And it was a good idea from the ACC to increase number of participants from 6 to 7. I would have liked to have Nepal as well in the competition, but they failed to qualify.
