He might have got cozy with the Mamta on 1-2 issue but i doubt if he's ever going to leave the BJP and he's already crossed the age of retirement from the politics. He'll join the Marg Darshan Mandali soon similar to Advani.

I get that why Jay Shah attracts nepotism jibe, which is true but i mean dude has a 5-7 years administer experience behind him and he's only 33yo. I never liked Anurag Thakur much anyway but i don't think they come close to Pawar-Srinivasan. Pawar is an alligator and still holds majority of the cards, these 2 guys are amateur in front of him. Ganguly is an opportunist at best.

Agreed on Pawar-Srinivasan. These two not just destroyed Indian cricket, but they had a very negative impact on the international cricket as well. And it is very strange that in India no one dares to say anything against Pawar. A few weeks back, one Marathi actress (Ketaki Chitale) shared a facebook post critical of Pawar, and she was arrested and sent to jail. For the last 3-4 weeks, she is languishing in jail. Obviously the information is available only in social media. Mainstream media has issued a blackout. Not even the opposition (BJP) in that state has the courage to criticize Pawar.

You are one among many who make these claims on a regular basis in literally every IPL season. These claims are baseless since you cannot prove them which is why I don't agree with you at all.
After every season there will be some sort of article popping about match fixing and this time it is inflated by highly intellect ministers Cheesy.

Fixing has drastically dropped in recent years which is why it isn't as easy as you think anymore. Logically, fixing isn't really that lucrative anymore for the players if you think about it.

Why would they want to shoot themselves in the foot and possibly lose out on legit and high salaries by engaging in fixing? Think shill!
Logically no one would ruin their career of earning big money but the players who are the end of their career are always a target and all they need to share is local room strategy. Majority of these accusations cannot be proved unless the officers can provide trail and i have not seen that till now even during the Sreesanth fixing case.

That's very much true. The way IPL matches were played at later part clearly tells the story but no one can dare to investigate that since its a win win situation for icc, bcci and rest of the cricket boards. The only way to recover so much money invested in IPL is through fixing.

I agree he's going off road lately but I'm an admirer of swamy duo to his work.

-Crusade against corruption.
-Ongoing fight on freeing temple from state's control.
-He was the only capitalist minded individual in the socialist India (he was demonized by everyone back then) and some even say that blueprint of 1991 Economic reform was created by him.

IMO He used to be one of the sharpest mind, bravest individual in India but now he's getting old and becoming bitter trouble maker for everyone, only because no one offered him Finance ministry.

Well.. I used to admire him as well. But then I realized that he has become too selfish. There are reasons why Nirmala Sitharaman became the finance minister instead of Xiaomi. His policies are too radical (such as eliminating the income tax) and if they are implemented there is a good chance that the economy will collapse. After he was denied the Rajya Sabha nomination, he decided to align with TMC (the main opposition party in India right now). And that was despite the fact that his own policies are diametrically opposite to the TMC ideology. And recently, he tweeted against the imports of Russian crude oil to India. In short, I don't respect him now, especially in matters related to cricket.

I know that this might be an unpopular opinion but I think he is an old guy, he should take some rest and mind his own business right now instead of doing these bullshits. Yes, he might be a sharp mind and I would be freaking out right now if I was 50, but times have changed. And he should know that him tweeting out simple things can be very devastating.

Actually, I think the people who commented on that tweet make more sense compared to the actual tweet. He did not have any problem when BCCI was dominated before by other personnel but now suddenly he wants to see if everything is legit. This is just a manipulative move by this guy.

Fair enough but it all started with Arun Jaitley, Nirmala Sitharaman came later.

Although i've no doubt that he's big trouble maker for everyone that's why BJP keep him in their camp as they know this guy is more dangerous if he's outside, ask Chidambaram and Sonia Gandhi.

In India, there is a saying: "ना घर का ना घाट का". Xiaomi's position has become something similar. He has created enmity with BJP. But he can't go to the INC camp, because of his past comments against the Gandhi dynasty. For now, he has found temporary asylum with the TMC, but I am not sure for how long they will tolerate him. And BCCI was always controlled by the party in power. During the UPA era (2004-14), it was under the control of Sharad Pawar-Srinivasan mafia. Now it is under the control of Jay Shah and Anurag Thakur. Even Ganguly is said to be pro-BJP.

One of the popular person who can be seen into controversy have now tossed a tweet that the IPL final match was rigged. He also connected the incident with the president of BCCI stating him as defacto dictator. He mentioned it requires a Public Interest Litigation and government will not do it as he's the son of Amit Shah who is the minister of Home affairs.

OK.. people outside India might not have heard about this crackpot named Swamy (better known as Xiaomi). Despite his age (he is in his late 80s), he regularly vomit out unfounded allegations against anyone with whom he is having a grudge with. A few years back he alleged that Shashi Tharoor killed his wife (who actually committed suicide). Then once he alleged that the RBI governor is engaged in corruption. Three years ago, he claimed that the leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi regularly uses cocaine. And each and everytime, these allegations were being made without any proof.

Never heard of this guy before. Anyway, people usually say that some IPL matches are rigged without any sort of proof which is why these are simply baseless accusations.

Gujarat Titans did possess an homeground advantage when compared to RR in the finals, but there is also the fact that they performed really well in all stadiums in this season which is why I don't think the final was rigged in any manner whatsoever.

The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, set the record straight as he finally unveiled what his cryptic tweet on Wednesday was about. The former India captain launched an  app "Classplus" which will give educators, teachers, and coaches a platform to monetize their content.

Ganguly, President of BCCI have explained about his tweet. He hasn't left BCCI, and he have launched an edu-tech app "Classplus" which is for the educators, teachers and coaches to monetize their content. Everyone are sure about the market situation and have well understood about the ongoing trend of online education. As a result Ganguly have started his own education app. Soon we can see him promoting the app during the match break.

LOL.. this is really crazy.. this guy launched an ordinary app, and he created so much hype for that? BTW, I am a bit worried about the clash of interest here. Byju's is a sponsor for many of the events organized by the BCCI and this new app may be considered as it's competitor. The former is obviously going to be unhappy about it. BTW, I never thought that politics is an area which suits Ganguly. He should aim for something higher within the cricket domain. Why can't he become the next chairman of the ICC?

Yes, I also think that Ganguly is more of a cricket man and not a politician. And yes BYJU'S is a big sponsor and has sponsored the Indian cricket team as well.

Other than that this app has sponsored a lot of other things. Having a new computer is surely not going to be good for them and they are surely not going to be happy about it. Now the question is whether they will do something about it or not. I think it will be funny to see them beefing. Ganguly should stay out of politics and use his big brain in cricket.

It turns out he's just starting a new marketing venture, nature of venture is still unknown. There were some rumor of his resignation or may be joining politics. Like getting Rajya sabha ticket from BJP or TMC.
I won't be surprised if he is nominated to the Rajya Sabha. However, the candidate list is already announced and Ganguly's name is not there. And more importantly, there are no elections to West Bengal Rajya Sabha seats this time, which would rule out the possibility of TMC nominating him (chances are very low anyway, as the relations between the two sides are not good). One possibility is that 7 of the nominated members of Rajya Sabha completed their term on 24th April 2022. Their replacement is yet to be announced. There maybe a chance that Saurav may be nominated there.
His tweet has been connected and the same got viral that Ganguly has resigned the position as President of BCCI. If he is to be nominated, he should resign as a president. I'm not sure, is there anything like one cannot hold two positions. In my opinion he can resign and give path for others, because there were big expectation over his activities. Finally everything happened same as the past. Nothing big has changed.

He is very important personnel in the BCCI. Now if he wants to follow another career in another sphere of life it is absolutely okay but I believe he should concentrate on one job because it is quite impossible for people to handle two big responsibilities.

But I don't think he is resigning from his post in the BCCI. But I believe he should not that a tweet from him can make a lot of difference so he should use Twitter wisely.

Politics? Makes sense considering the fact that they can earn loads of money in a passive manner. Imran Khan is the only cricketer who made it big in politics so far, but screwed up big-time recently due to various reasons.

I appreciate cricketers like Gavaskar, Shastri etc who stay dedicated to the game in different forms and don't solely focus on making money.
