Well criminality and crime have become part of human nature and the best those charged with responsibility of curbing it can do is to reduce it. Bitcoin ugly experiences of hacking is unfortunate as it is yet to gain any government backing. Until then , protect your wallet at all cost.

I have seen some news regarding hackers, terrorists, and other criminals using bitcoin for illegal trades.
How the police can find about these transactions?
Even if is hard to track illegal transactions, I don't think that Bitcoin can be a danger to society, since the problem is the society and its people.
Since the beginning of the internet this is happening ( the bad people committing crimes)  and no one is willing to shutdown internet because of that, so in that matters Bitcoin should be equivalent. I think those illegal transaction are one of the reasons some governments and the media are trying to depreciate bitcoin, but the problem is not Crypto/blockchain or Bitcoin, is just the society.

Who cares. It is the same question as electricity consumption. Nocoiners get so hot when they think about it, when in reality electricity is spent on billion things, and it is dumb, but nobody is talking about it. Same is with criminals and bitcoin...

The use of decentralized crypto currency for money laundering and the withdrawal of capital was one of the official reasons for limiting Crypto-Exchange trade and the emergence of ideas for the creation of a national crypto currency.

No need to worry because every big country that legalize bitcoin must have formed a cyber team to track transactions from corruptors and criminals...

Criminal activities are of all times. It's not because of the internet, nor because of dollars or bitcoin, that crimes are committed. Humans are to blame, they commit the crimes, not bitcoin. The government just uses this as excuse. Governments will not allow a decentralized currency, they cannot control. And the authorities  can not just bluntly ban bitcoin. That's why they use this excuse to get rid of bitcoin.

Yes, in my country the people involved in Bitcoin are considered criminals because our government bans the virtual currency from being present in the national economy, besides there are a lot of people being arrested but They still participate in Bitcoin after being released.

Yes whether bitcoin existed or not, people would still steal. So stealing or criminalism would persist. Bitcoin is not the problem but human psychological make up. Scamming has been since the beginning of life even from the bible stories.

Criminality and illegal trade should be distinguished from bitcoins. Lets not forget that before the invention of cryptocurrencies; issues of hacking, terrorism and other nefarious activities were still on record; why do we now associate every bad act to the advent of cryptos. I believe bitcoin have nothing to do with criminals

Shouldn't this question be posted on Discussion board? This question has nothing to do with Technical Discussion.Use the Move Topic button on the bottom left of your thread to move the topic.

Coming to your question, even fiat money are being used in illegal trades. It's certainly very difficult to track the line of transactions during a theft. Most of them use mixing services for mixing their coins and make them untraceable.

Hmm haven't we discussed this to death?

It is not possible for the police or any entity to tell, just by looking the transactions themselves. In fact, without any actual link to evidence, the transactions can't be identified. If the authority can get one of the addresses/transactions involved, they could get the whole link of addresses that are related but that isn't possible all the time and its rather inaccurate and useless.
