I just got started with Crypto Kingdom yesterday after checking out Syksy’s video. Even with the game being paused it has been a lot of fun to check out and I’m really enjoying exploring the various parts of the game.

My gaming background is all sorts of MUDs, Utopia, Travian, LoU, RPGs, etc, starting from 20 years back. I love how this game is combing RPGs with empire building and real investments through monero.

What I got to test out so far with the paused version has been buying and selling on the market, exploring the world map and getting items from the explore quests, buying and building land. Since I really enjoy the game I decided to make this post with some feedback, hopefully some of it is useful and still relevant with the new version of the game coming up.

Landing page.
I didn’t sign up the first time I landed on CryptoKingdom.me as there is no information there about what the game is about. Some information and screenshots would have been really nice. I don’t like to sign up to stuff without knowing a least a little bit about what to expect. Just making this visible when logged out would be nice: https://cryptokingdom.me/welcome

Starting out.
A tiny quest line starting out would be nice, leading to making an XMR deposit near at the end maybe? I got the impression from reading the thread that part of the motivation for the game was to increase XMR usage. A link to some post explaining monero would be good too.

Deposit button.
It’s kind of hard figuring out where to go to deposit. It would have been nice with a clearly visible button and also one for withdrawal showing how to go about doing that. I think most people are hesitant to deposit when they don’t know how to withdraw.

World map.
It would have been really nice with a large map that shows everything and you can zoom in from there. Maybe there is one? I have not been able to find it, but just copy paste all the different parts of town into one page would do it Smiley

Buying land.
It was a bit tricky figuring out how to do this. I guess that was because almost no land had an ask price. I got some land in the end and even managed to build an office on it, so it’s all good now Smiley

Viewing other players / Character profile.
Is there any way to view other players? When I explore the land I can see who owns it, but can’t view their profile? I would love to see their profile, who they are, their titles, what other land they own, their fancy robe and swords, levels, etc.

Rankings.
I love ranking lists. Who’s the richest, who has the biggest house, who has the best sword? I can sort the market, but having ranking lists would be awesome. There are just a ton of different ranking lists that could be made with all the data in the game. The list of who had the most culture when dying was kind of hard to find as well.

Chat.
That chat is great Smiley Good to have a link to the chatroom in the menu.

Anyways, I just joined the game so I’m sure I’m missing a lot of stuff, but this was just some initial thoughts. The game is awesome and one of a kind and I am excited to follow it moving forwards.

O Harvest Moon! Bless and maintain these Noble few
who proudly step forward in fairest view:

Red Erin, who deals subtle magic, enough to turn
pigs into manored arms--a pistol no less
Might or Magic--her di must decide.

Moon, who hangs Fall from Summer--Sysky
Bless this Noble traveler as he vetures forth
reward his Noble steps--a Phrophecy

From MoneroMooo'n, a great hoot
that blows up Adventure from blustry path
may his game reward our group--an ancient

Moon--tell of New Liberty's song
wise as the crickets who serenade
Swans swimming Black on Moon lakes.

Noble Moon, guide us, your Kingdom
that grants us our song--freedom.

Update: Dragon Quest

So far the quest has garnered commitments from Syksy, Moneromooo, and RedErin.
Anyone wishing to join in the fun, and danger, please add your name to our list of intrepid hunters.

It has been so long since such a creature has been successfully hunted.
How can one refuse such a noble endeavor.  Though my bones be not what they were, they still do move on most days.  The Duke will commit to this.  What then is life, if we can not live it?  To arms! My loyal retainers and I will mount and ride with the other brave nobility who answer this call to duty.  Any less would be a shame.

King, how can I put a bid for the auction? I place a buy order on CK? Or I post it here?

You can place it in game and when the time expires it will be sold into the highest bid.

Glad to see you playing!

After looking around the palace for what to put up for auction, I scratch my head when I sees these--

https://cryptokingdom.me/marketplace/item/CAF-15

Ancient, blessed, elaborate? What's inside?

Picking up a manifest from the containers I read:

Old Dept Store unsold stock

Hmmm, unless there's Dragon Eggs inside,
I'll be happy to let someone else open the mysterious crates.

Auction ends Tuesday 4:00am EST

The king has consulted with wise men and read ancient scrolls concerning the capture of Dragons and learned they are weak against magic, but how much magic and what kind is still uncertain...or even how one may acquire more.

Zenon is most wise and ancient in the practice of the dark arts, but has not been seen for some time, so the King sends messengers out to bring him to the Palace so HMC can consult him on the matter.

Syksy has some magical training, but will it suffice in lowering the Dragon's ferocious temperament and BV? Can Syksy raise his magic enough to combat such primal power?

The Marquess' army looked happy as they passed the gates of the Stonehaven camp, now well on its way to a permant settlement. Scruffy and tired by the long march back from the expedition to North Face, the soldiers' step took on a new energy, glad to be... maybe not quite home, but close enough, at last.

Stories brought by a messenger from the army had already spread like wildfire in the new town. Rumours of strange beasts, gleaming treasures beyond dreams, tall mountains spitting fire and lightning. The Marquess made a mental note to have a quiet word with the messenger later, but for now, it was time to let the group have a well deserved rest before the next expedition.

Indeed, the news from Cryptotown were as momentous as the ones from the north. The King had abdicated in favour of the Marquess of Plath, and the new King was intent on mounting an expedition to capture a dragon!

While intelligence did not support foul play in the surprise changes in the Crown, the abdication might still cause short term disturbances, and the army was back at the right time to prepare for this. Hoping that the dragon quest was not a ploy to gather troops away from their respective counties, Mooo of Stonehaven started making plans to dispatch part of the troops to the south.

S-CKG liquidation plan

S-CKG (char name CKGE) owns both the stash of CK resulting from CKG items it held at the time of the reorganization as well as the remaining items themselves.

Currently 99,430 units of CK are held by S-CKG

There are currently 1,988,600 shares of S-CKG.

The liquidation will proceed as follows:

S-CKG will be reduced by SPOILs (random controlled by the game engine) until fewer than 99,430 shares exist. That is, approximately 95% of shares will be SPOILed. If all of your shares are SPOILed you will no longer be a shareholder and will receive nothing. If you own a small number of shares this is reasonably likely. If you own a large number of shares this will likely not happen and you will end up with a smaller number.

Following this, 1 CK will be distributed to each share.

The remaining assets, consisting of the undistributed CK and the CKG items will be sold at some time in the future, either separately or in one or more lots consisting of multiple items, and the proceeds distributed to S-CKG holders. Upon the conclusion of this process S-CKG/CKGE will cease to exist. Until that time S-CKG shares will trade freely.

The liquidation will commence no earlier than 24 hours after this post. Trading will continue and those with a small number of shares who do not want to risk having their holdings eliminated by the SPOIL process may attempt to find a buyer (or alternately acquire more shares and reduce the probability of all your shares being SPOILed away).

The plan has proceeded as described above. The CK and a small amount of remaining M have been distributed. S-CKG continues to trade as shares in the ownership of the physical CKG items (and a very small amount of remaining CK).

Following the distribution, S-HODL which was previously a significant holder of S-CKG and S-CON, reinvested its M by purchasing CK on the open market. It now holds slightly more than one CK per share. S-HODL remains an attractive vehicle for passive holdings since dividends are automatically reinvested. This makes S-HODL an entirely fire-and-forget investment. You can buy it, do nothing at all until you check it later, and hopefully it is worth more.

Going forward I plan to apply a 0.1% admin fee on S-HODL reinvestments. This was previously the policy for the share vehicles (S-CKG and S-CON) that S-HODL used for its holdings (S-HODL had no ongoing management fee of its own), but since those no longer exist, S-HODL is holding the CK directly and will charge the fee directly. The fee was not applied on the reinvestment that just occurred.

First Items Auctioned to Town Hall

"The Town Hall would like to get: 2 paintings from late 1500-1600s
(ART-18 and 47), 1 old wood table (CAF-14), 100*COH cigars

20*JAD, 20*RME

10*SW3, 1 old silver cup (SIO-4)

1 old document (WRD-5) and in total 6 badges or tokens of copper

Unique items are unique, but all the others is carefully considered that the Crown will retain the majority
of its holding. Some tokens, 1 out of 2 was taken. In the consumables and JAD, less than that out of 676
royal items, this is touching 15 of which 5 are unique.

The Hall is in the understanding that 25 mil would be a reasonable donation for the lot."

The King thanks the Town Hall for their support and hopes the items find a good home and are a blessing to the community.

If you read this, no matter how feeble and ill-equipped you are, team up with others and ask for weapons etc. Then share the loot!

I need a change from the ever present farming, and since I am the owner of a fine pistol, which I happened to use in not too bad a fashion at the King's coronation's tournament, I will leave Pada Manor's management to the soundest of the farmers and join the adventure! My horse is a but a H2 horse, but I won't bring him right to the dragon's snout Smiley

To clear up any confusion on opening up the King's vaults, going forward I need to pay myself a salary for the King's full-time work, so all items are available for sale, but this will happen as one or two items every other day or so--if you've had your eye on something special and would like to make an offer, then ask and we can negotiate terms.

My reason for being leery of going full-time as King, was to keep from selling any of it, but the demands of the game are for a full-time King and override my desire to own more than anyone probably should--hope this clears up any confusion.

HMC

--Game's Business:

PJ has been promoted to Earl. This is the very first promotion in the game that HMC has granted. It goes without saying that the game relies heavily on his programming skills, and there would be no agora without his efforts.

"PJ, for your efforts, you are Promoted to Earl, with all the Honors befitting your Station and Rank. Your Service and Dedication are recognized by All--may you wear the Blue of a Great Noble in Pride, but with a light heart. We salute You, Sir."

(Cannon Fire)

--King's Finances:

The King's life has only so many hours in a day. For this reason, it's proposde that a Queen should be sought for the House of Crichton. Her duties would be to act in accordance of the King's duties when the King is away from the Throne--whether these duties can be handled by her gentle hand, or by the King's gruffer-style is for her to decide. The King realizes that with so few women in the Kingdom, that this request will take time to fulfill--so in the meantime, the King must limit his other duties and spend more time managing the Kingdom's business, but as streams go, the King's lands are irrigated with the rash sensibility of farmer in drought, so the King's Vaults are opened and most everything there is made available for sale. This will be an open event and all offers made public with special items being posted here starting Monday--in the meantime, if you wish to make a private bid, please contact me via PM here or on ##cryptokingdom IRC @ hmc_

--New Players,

Are quests of interest? Too complicated? Not thoroughly automated? Too little payout, for too much time? Are there enough interested players? Do we have a working structure as to make quests work within the game rather than depending on IRC to fulfill communication driven game play?

If you are waiting to ask questions, or voice concerns, now is your opportunity--I'll be glad to play advocate in any case, but remember that my hours for the moment are limited by prior commitments. Once these commitments have been reduced, I'll be able to keep In-Game hours.

Also, could creatures add crop bonuses? I'm sure dragon s$%^ makes for great fertilizer for MUS and CAN.

Allowing robbery and theft is probably lots of fun for the robbers, but what about a victim that for example has spent 6 real months accumulating a nice gold coin collection or a nice wine collection?

Things could get really messy and you would have angry forum posts all over the place if somebody loose his/her possessions.

And how would the probability of the theft be calculated? For example one house/clan has 4 people living there and they have 2 pistols, how many robbers with how many weapons would you need to successfully rob that place?

And what about when an attractive 20 yo wild female comes riding on her dragon, should I reveal my big cannon and blow her out of the sky? Should we all be buying cannons now Smiley ?

Just some thoughts, hope you like feedback from small players...  Wink

Love the feedback!
