By the way I see an interesting fungibility topic starting here that may interest CryptoNote users. I recommend not mentioning Monero or Boolberry since it is a bitcoin thread.

We need a tie breaking mechanism. For example one can look at the result before the vote that led to the tie and use that instead.

Reminder that the tie breaker rule means that any vote that creates a tie is ignored (until the tie is broken by another vote)

Current position
Based on the votes in this thread Team Boolberry has chosen to play Ne4. Now it is time for Team Monero to respond. I will plan to count votes again tomorrow at approximately 0:00 UTC.

Team Monero (white pieces) vs. Team Boolberry (black pieces)
white to move

1.e4      c5
2.Nf3     d6
3.d4      cxd4
4.Qxd4   a6
5.c4      Nc6
6.Qe3    g6
7.Nc3    Bg7
8.Be2    Nf6
9.O-O   O-O
10.h3    Nd7
11.b3    Nc5
12.Bb2   f5
13.exf5  Bxf5
14.Rad1 Qa5
15.Rd2   Rf6
16.Nd5   Re6
17.Qf4   Ne4

It's BBR's move as the clock has ticked over to the next day. I don't have a program to create a chessboard, so just this for now:

Starting this move I have included a link to the online source where I generated the board (just click on the board) instead of just the image. That should make it easy for anyone in case I am not around at 0:00 UTC

I will also go for Ne4. Too risky to already but our rook in the center with all the minor pieces around it.

Agreed. Re4 is a loss of a move as R will need to get back after that empty threat to the white Queen. I do not like how black queen is ineffective and eventually must try to come to better squares for more control.

For now Ne4 it is (boolberry, dre1982, tifozi)

Re4. Votes are all tied up. Rook is safe on e4. After Re4 and Qg3 we can play Re6 again and threaten Ne4 forking the queen and rook. White has the option to move back to Qf4 offering a repetition of moves. We can then consider whether we want to try something else. Lets make white put the queen on a bad square like h2 or repeat moves. If white repeats we can then decide to reject a draw and play Ne4 if we want.

I have enjoyed learning about CryptoNote and will continue to study more.  For those who missed the first game against me, I have just started a second:

It would not be fair for me to participate in this game but it is shaping up to be a good fight.

Material is still even. Pretty even chess match so far.

Could this be the subject of MRL-0005? Or is Monero Research Lab currently working on something else?
https://lab.getmonero.org/

That seems like a perfect topic for MRL but I don't know what their current focus is.  MRL is composed of multiple people so they may be studying different things.

That would lose the game after Bxc3. You can change your vote if you wish by updating the count below:

Yeah, perhaps way to aggressive.  However, I wanted to start forcing black into certain moves that also opens up his King in that corner of the board.  I would love to see how it plays out, but the piece trade-off might not be worth it.
