It is better to do your own research before venturing into anything. Let no one’s persuasion makes you want to do something before knowing what that truly entails. I only got to know about bitcoin true a friend and that was not my first time of hearing about it. So I will say, I only joined when I was completely satisfied with bitcoin through what I’ve personally learnt about it. He made me loved it more but I joined willingly when I was ready because if I was earlier, I would have joined before now. Celebrity and influencers are persuasive tools that are only after their own personal promotion and benefits they get from adverts, so when they advertise something, do your own research before venturing into it.

I don't belong to that category, but I have people who do. There are some certain people who are so obsessed with the celebrity they follow as their role model that whatever that one promotes or posts, they so much believe in it without even having any second doubt, and they can invest in it without even doing their own personal research about it. 
 
Celebrities, based on how their fans follow them and do whatever they ask them to, have been the major target of some coin creators. They use them to promote and market their products, which can create hype, and many people fall victim to rug pull from such projects, and those celebrities can't be held responsible for their actions.

I started investing in Bitcoin because of my friend taught me about it but, Obviously not wise to do invest just because of some influencer or some celebrity just because you trust them or they are your idol or something, I mean there were a lot of people getting scammed and hacked with that kind of thinking, if you're going to rely on influencers online or celebrity which is mostly paid by scammers or websites you surely are going to be vulnerable to scams and hacks, those kind of things are popular online getting hack and because they invested because they get influence by some popular people then just ended up blaming the influencers because they lose a lot of money because they invested on it, quite popular I think when the NFTs are starting to blow up. I mean it wasn't really that bad as long as you're willing to do the research on what they are promoting, I personally don't trust these influencers and celebrity-promoting websites or investments because my first thinking was they are all paid to do this kind of advertisement on social media, but when there was some promotion that I actually like, I take my time to actually do the research on it, just to know if it is a legitimate website? is it a legitimate investment? can I make a profit on it? something like that so I don't end up losing money.

Nope. That would be really dumb to be honest since celebrities are willing to lose their money unlike commoners like us who aren't willing to part with our money. However, there are many, many dumdums out there who blindly follow their celebrities.

They end up losing their money and regret it badly later on. Do your research people!

it's always important to do your own research when you want to invest in something and even if a celebrity influenced you to invest in something that they are promoting, you still need to do your own research and understand what they are promoting. sadly a lot of people do not do this and just blindly follow what their idol says and the end result is either they lose their money because they don't know what they are doing or lose their money because it is a scam.

The truth of the fact is that celebrities/influencers have always been known to have great influence on their respective target audience, ranging from how they behave, what they say and the choices they make both in regards to either investment or personal life choices, e.t.c, of which when it comes to Bitcoin, the role of the likes of people like Elon Musk, Mike Tyson and Snoop Dogg who have every moment proved their undiluted support to Bitcoin and it's ecosystem can never be over-emphasized, and as such, have grown a massive audience within the crypto space. So for me, I can't really say it was an influencer who brought me into having interest about Bitcoin, but rather curiosity and the last two Bitcoin Halving hype was what made me wanting to know more, and today I'm happy I made the right choice.

I don't think I can start up any investment that involves money because of a certain celebrity who's always online saying things that he or she was paid by a brand to say so that people will patronize the brand knowing fully well that most of the celebrities don't even make use of the bands they advertise for other people to buy. First time I got to know about Bitcoin investment was through a friend of mine and I doubted everything she told me because I was waiting to see how far she has progressed since she's been investing before I could think of investing long story short it took me many years to make up my mind and I saw reasons to invest because the same person who introduced me to Bitcoin was on another level then. Do not invest in anything because a celebrity or someone closer to you talked about a particular project, always take out time to do your own research, verify everything by your self and ensure you understand what you want to invest in before you invest.

Taking advice about anything from a celebrity is usually seen in a negative way, but if they are well informed and can make a coherent intellectual argument, it is something which can only be beneficial and help drive adoption.

This depends on how the influencer conveys something or educates the public. If we hear it makes sense, we should first study the impact of the investment itself, don't just think about the profits. If you are ready for everything then you can start. I myself happened to be introduced to cypto investment through a friend of mine. At first I was very doubtful about this investment, because I saw many people experiencing big losses in my country. As time went by, I myself understood the concept of investment itself.

There are many people who exalt the celebrity status and see those celebrities as angels and people that never do any wrong. But just like other titles like CEO, chairman, etc. celebrity is just a title given that an individual who is popular, we still have to be careful of them.

If you happen to genuinely know a celebrity one on one and then maybe they give you advice to invest in Bitcoin it is different from when you take a general advice from a celebrity that did not give to you in particular.

I didn't invest in Bitcoin because of any celebrity. However, I didn't know what Bitcoin was, a friend of mine gave me the first idea about Bitcoin. I got interested in investing in Bitcoin after hearing about Bitcoin well from my friend. At some point came to know about this bitcointalk forum, since registering my account here I have gained more knowledge. From this forum I learned how to invest in DCA method, I learned that long term investment in Bitcoin can definitely be profitable. Currently I continue to invest in DCA method.

Definitely no, if someone invest in Bitcoin because of celebrities, it means they didn't even understand the asset that they bought. They're the one who panic selling when Bitcoin price down 5%-10% in a day and can't hold the the price to bounce back.

But we shouldn't really blame them since they're helping professional traders to make money.

I don't and have never followed a celebrity or an influencer to the extent that I would get persuaded by them or inspired by them to do a certain thing, especially if it involves finances and investments because I know it's foolish to follow someone's advise and do something that you don't even know anything about even if that person is your favorite or you like them and follow them everywhere.

For me, it isn't reasonable and I don't think anyone should make such mistakes. When it comes to making financial decisions, it should be you who should be taking those decisions and those decisions shouldn't be influenced by anyone, even if it's a celebrity that you love a lot and you always do what they do or ask their followers to do.

Celebrities and  influencers have a lot of influence on the decision  their followers make. However when it comes to Bitcoin there is very rarely any celebrity who has an independent thought on Bitcoin. If there are, it's just only a few. The ones who support Bitcoin do it as brand ambassadors for some exchange which I don't like. I want to see one come out and speak truth to power about Bitcoin.

I did not start investing in Bitcoin because of some celebrity or an influencer here. I started investing in Bitcoin due to peer inference influence and hard knock lesson I learned about shitscoins prior to my investment in Bitcoin.

Yes I know people in this category. However their investing in Bitcoin was more about investing in Bitcoin through a crypto exchange where a celebrity is a brand ambassador.

No. What you have to think about is that many famous and influential people from the world of entertainment have promoted crypto, and it has not ended well, they have even been fined for promoting risky investments, that is, they did it simply for money without understanding that they were selling. Make your investments for your intentions and not someone else's, and if something interests you due to a promotion, simply investigate it.

I start investing on Bitcoin before any celebrity talking about crypto. I invest on Bitcoin because I’m amazed on blockchain technology while this shitty celebrity is just using crypto specifically Bitcoin to milk with their followers through shitcoin investments attaching Bitcoin popularity on it.

The answer is no" although most of the Investor's today was influenced by their favorite celebrity, you know how fan do most times they can go extra mind just to pleased their favorite celebrity. However no one introduce me to bitcoin investment rather people keep talking about bitcoin investment in social media both people around me, then I decided to conduct a deep research about how bitcoin investment works, so that's how I started this crypto journey.

If OP thinks the current generation is investing in Bitcoin, chances are they are currently inspired by celebrities or influencers. However, if you ask everyone on this forum, my answer is impossible, especially those who have been on this forum for a long time. If on the contrary, maybe there are celebrities or influencers who know and study everything related to Bitcoin and invest in this forum, because we can't know.

And I am personally involved with Bitcoin because several of my friends have been involved for a long time and have also been on this forum for a long time, so after I got to know Bitcoin and investing I was directed to enter this forum. And to increase or improve knowledge and other things related to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and this forum is the best place for me.
