how many times i suggested to digibyte... and now firstblood did... and i told to do that since years.... 5.5 millions in few seconds... and dgb after years at the same point... dgb you lost the train and the games... a really shit coin for noobs but now for sure without hope. RIP
Peerplays is another one that was announced prior to first blood. Both aren't out yet so until that time i wouldn't call it a success. I like the idea but im not sure a truly decentralised platform on ethereum will be a smooth experience. Gamers are funny people they are probably on average the worst group of people you can encounter personality/welcoming wise. Add anonymity online knowing no consequences and they'll cheat, abuse and be just general assholes every chance they can get.
Steam has a peer review system but i find its not fast enough / doesn't work. There is still cheaters. People recycle accounts / abuse the system etc and there isn't much incentive to watch replays and judge as it takes time. You spend 20 mins watching a match to hit no its a cheater ban. In 5 minutes they have a new account with csgo added and can do it all over again.
Whats to stop token transferral to another address make a new account and play on under first blood? The coin gives anonymity and there is no tainted coins so its allowable.
For services like this i think a central trusted authority is still superior. With proper payment incentive and governing it can run smoother. Im not convinced these smart contracts are the bomb yet. The whole code is law thing scares me as more often than not code is exploited hence constant microsoft updates , network vendor patches hell look at those nsa tools.
It takes 1 just 1 flaw to destroy an ethereum smart contract again and whats the solution? Another fork... eth classic2? I still reckon a decent governed service with transparency of the system and proper cold wallet practices and service segmentation for security is the way.
