DigiByte Telegram Chat Bot

We are happy to announce that me and Dennahz are working on a telegram chat bot specifically for DigiByte! Below are some of the relevant points of information and some screenshots of the current functionality.

Features:

  • Market data feeds from Poloniex and Bitfinex with multiple currency functionality
  • Advanced market data features
  • DigiStats API integration including difficulty, coin supply, blockcount, network hash rates, number of nodes and more to come!

Roadmap:

We have already started coding the bot and are alpha testing some features. With the right effort this can be completed for beta release in 1-2 weeks.

Bounty:

Both developers on this project are 3rd party community members and so we request a small bounty to allow the community to contribute to our efforts.

Requested bounty: 150,000 DGB (amount currently contributed: 237.600 DGB)  Bounty Completed

Bounty address: DEbyS2U1u7EucBAuyRXsGaixXr6e28Qk9e

Really love the idea of playing LoL and get some crypto as a reward, congratulations for this! will this be for a limited amount of time? I was also wondering how is DGB benefiting out this since if many people cashout this will just drop the price.
The funds paid out are not limitless; they are donated by a sponsor. Of course people can immediately cash out but this would be incredibly short sighted of them as DigiByte is not anywhere near to its perceived potential but even if everyone did, you would probably not notice in the markets. Although amongst others, a gaming wallet has been provided and so a core wallet is not necessary, we hope people will chose to run a core wallet and in doing so, support our network and help improve their own prospects for a better future by becoming part of the DigiByte community. Running a core wallet is a great way to support this community and we will continue to find ways of making sure you have something to put in it!  Smiley

Don't forget that those gamers have the option to go to digibyte market (https://www.digibytemarket.com) to spend the coins on whatever they like  Wink

I am sure the funds that go towards digibyte market will be kept close to the digibyte team...

Couple of updates:

- We've fixed some issues with DigiStats, specifically concerning the stats API. Basically cryptsy was still being included but they've long shutdown and that was causing problems. That should all be resolved now but if you spot any problems please give me a shout.

- Added a couple more commands to the prototype Telegram chat bot as you can see in the screenshot below. We appreciate any contributions Smiley

A new faucet is now available! Cheesy
Digibyte Faucet
Get your free coins now !

This Connection is Untrusted

faucet.thecryptoworld.org uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

Beware!

Are you using Microsoft Edge? The certificates are from LetsEncrypt. The Faucet Engine is Open-Source on Git.
The only browser who has problem with Lets Encrypt is Edge or simply clear your cache and it'll be fine Wink

Btw, I'm using port 443 since my internet provider is blocking 80 to non-commercial plan Wink

Firefox, Chrome, etc., all the same: faucet.thecryptoworld.org uses an invalid security certificate.

Something is wrong on your side. Do you have the correct date and time on your computer?

The site works fine from my desktop using chrome, but on my android phone with chrome it gets the above warning.

Date and time on both are the same.

I'll take a look at it! Here, everything seems fine and the certificate are supposed to be valid.
Anyone can tell me the exact error they're getting?

Thanks a lot!
looks ok to me, is verified by these guys; https://letsencrypt.org/

Which was an idea I had for the use of DiguSign but hey ho!

also, a quite generous faucet I think.  Wink

Android 4.4.2, Firefox 44.0, Chrome 47.0.2526.83 coming at you from Europe. Haven't had the chance to test a desktop.

I'm using Firefox 44.0 and it's not throwing an exception but identifies it as verified by letsencryt.org, the link I posted earlier.
This is a Linux foundation collaborative project providing a new and free to use certificate authority by Internet Security Research Group (ISRG), a California public benefit corporation. ISRG’s mission is to reduce financial, technological, and education barriers to secure communication over the Internet.

Similar ethos to ours, I'd say. However, it is public Beta....and it's new.

I'm working on it at the moment, I think there's a few work around I can do for that!
The problem seems to hit Android only according to SSLlab.. let's see! Wink

I sure that everything is safe though haha I'm trying to set the highest payout possible actually

It's working fine now. Smiley

Me and Dennahz are working on a Telegram chat bot for DigiByte! I would just like to see how much interest there is in developing this further and potentially apply tipping functionality. I have included a few screenshots below of the current functionality (Note: As of yet there is no public beta test).

In order to show your support I encourage you to send some DGB to DEbyS2U1u7EucBAuyRXsGaixXr6e28Qk9e.

I think this is an awesome idea and I would appreciate further development!  Smiley

I have no idea of the technical side but would that be possible for WhatsApp? If yes I would think about developing that for WhatsApp instead of Telegram as this is the most popular messenger worldwide.

Nope, not possible for WhatsApp. Please move over to Telegram Wink

If you guys want to see this actually worked on and to come out with a lot of relevant features etc. then please consider sending some DGB to the address above. Me and Dennahz are 3rd party and therefore not paid in any other way.

I will also post another update/screenshot on progress this afternoon, planning on implementing a couple other DGB stats Smiley

The issue that you are seeing HR is an issue with android phones not having the complete certificate chain.

The server is not presenting the complete certificate chain; so if a client does not have the complete certificate chain then the client will result in an error.

Here is an article from Comodo ( a Certificate Authority ) https://support.comodo.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1019/0/untrusted-certificate-error-on-android

I read that to still be a server side issue. The article starts with "The issue is that the Windows server is not presenting the complete certificate chain . . ." and then proceeds with further background and resolution how-to. Unless I am misunderstanding, this is a server side certificate install issue.
