in case nobody has noticed this yet, Cryptsy's withdrawal fee for DGB has changed to 0.5% amount of DGB withdrawn + 1DGB if i rmb correctly.
So if you are withdrawing 1000DGB, fee is about 5DGB. 100 000DGB will be 500DGB.
used to simply exchange my BTC for DGB for supercheap withdraws (1DGB only).

Craptsy soon enough will be closing so f... them Cheesy

@ bogglor, My point is that I could buy and sell to myself all day. It would cost me nothing and the DGB traded on Cryptsy would be whatever I shifted. In this case I suspect I'd get a bot to do it for me.
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/digibyte/trading_exchanges

I really doubt this is happening to artificially inflate the number the volume of DGB.

And yes, you could do it all day if you wanted to, but if someone sees trades like this happening, and does some strategic trades while your bot is running, they could make you lose some money. It's not worth the trouble/risk.

It's way more likely that the volume of DGB has been high because the price spiked.

People would be more likely to try and pump/dump by the type of trade manipulation method you suggest than they would be to raise the trading volume for no reason.

said people are possibly being investigated as we ponder! I'm just saying this setup allows deceit and in the light of it, I'm not willing to guess coinfire accusations are unfounded.

So, if I understand you correctly...

They eliminated trading fees so they could artificially inflate their trade volume, so that more people would come and trade, so that they wouldn't make any money off of that trading because there are no trading fees.

Um, I'm not seeing the logic here...

No, I do not think you do understand me…

I’m not saying they did anything for any reason. What I am saying is that they have provided a tool for market manipulation (no fees.) to everyone now and one of the accusations that is being made against them is market manipulation.

But, I’m sure that they will still make money because they have a fee on everything that goes off the exchange and looking like they are very active and have more volume than they actually do will not harm them either.

I’m not letting my mind run off with all sorts of other possibilities because I simply don’t know. I have used Cryptsy for a good while now and have never personally had any issues, that they did not sort out with efficiency, with their service but for the time being I have removed my trade from their exchange while these accusations are followed up.

How does anyone know what the real volume of trade is on Cryptsy right now?

Out of the four exchanges trading DGB Cryptsy has the most volume right?
Wrong since they swapped trading fees, volume metrics count for shite at cryptsy!
I'd call that allowing deceit to take place at least.

I don't know the point you are trying to make, but the trading fee has never been included in Total BTC column.

And even if it was, the small fee they did take (0.25 - 0.3%) wouldn't be enough to skew the numbers enough to make a false claim about volume.

Just to let people know, on social media there are still people having trouble with cryptsy, Cryptsy says this is a blockchain problem ( https://twitter.com/cryptsy/status/651452139223519232 ) But i dont know what to believe these days.
With cryptsy 2.0 and the coinfire article a few days ago and now this, It's getting a little shady in there.

Also cryptsy (BigVern) did a interview with NewsBTC, Personally i never heard of this website and have my doubts about this article.

I did some withdrawels of another coin and they ended up only sending half of them each time (very strange!). I had to withdraw the same amount in six increments for some reason.
I just took 4 million Digibyte from cryptsy, Same problem.

For now it seems to be a fake article from coinfire, I have been asking cryptsy helpdesk and support about this but they all say it is BS.

We need to wait for a announcement from Big Vern for more detailed information.

Sorry to scare you guys, Can't be safe enough.

Cheers

The only thing cryptsy can be faulted for is adding the shittest of the shit coins because of btc bribes.

I would trust coinfire before I trusted cryptsy, coinfire  has been right about all the GAW Scam, and considering from email leaks that cryptsy was possible in bed with josh Garza, wouldn't surprise me to see they are u der investigation for all that

This is why I prefer bittrex. I asked cryptsy to add Guldencoin at the time which was far better then coins they were adding. The coins they were adding ended up being pumps and dumps.  I am not saying they were in on scams with certain coin creators but the fact they didn't add Gulden which is a independent team that isn't in bed with crypto cartels raised suspicions about the exchange for me.

Once again, the issues with Cryptsy remind us that we shouldn't leave large amounts of coins on any exchange.  The safest practice is to get coins, put them on an exchange, buy / sell as needed and transfer the results off.

I admittedly have become too relaxed on this and the recent Cryptsy news has renewed my desire to become rigorous in maintaining the security of my coins.

Yeah if you aren't trading there is no reason you should trust any exchange with your funds, we have seen funds go missing time and time again in this space
