When your book is released I want to donate 50 000 DGB to you as a small tip to help promote DGB more.
Good incentive! I will double the donation and add another 50K

What happened to that press release for Coindesk?
I contributed some DGB to that project, not that much but still.  Smiley

Hi Fenix_One.  And, thanks benjamoyne (quicker than I am today).

Yes.  It's all set to release as soon as we get the green light.  And, genuinely, thanks for your support, I really appreciate it.  Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

We were asked to hold off by Jared until some things were finalized on his end.
Shouldn't be more than a few days.

What actually is going on behind the scenes to make Digibyte more than just another trading shitcoin?  Huh I mean, I initially invested in Digibyte because I thought they were going to change the world of micro-payments? I know it's too early to expect results yet, but shouldn't Digibyte already be heading in that direction before some other coin does? Or is Digibyte going to wait till somebody comes up with an altcoin payment system and then use that system? I much rather see Digibyte develop their own payment platform and as soon as possible...

I share your sentiments 100%.

It's the catch 22 I referred to earlier, this time seen from a different angle: if you don't have the widely distributed user base, you'll be unable to set up a successful micro-payment system (because there will be no-one to use it), and if you don't have a successful micro-payment system, you'll be unable to create the widely distributed user base (because there is nothing to use).

Hence the unbelievably important need to sell the investment potential. It's all we've got, and it's the make or break item. It gives us the widely distributed user base, key building block, from which the micro-payment system and everything else will be built, and without it, I do believe you can kiss DGB goodbye.

You know, we keep hearing that we need more services and products, and what we hear most about is the “marketing” campaign that we’re going to see once more products and services are in place.

In other words, there’s nothing we can do until then.

So WTF are you all doing here? If we can’t get a marketing campaign going until there is more in place to market, WTF are you doing holding DGB?

YOU?  Huh  Huh  Huh

That’s rhetorical, of course, because I have the answer:

You’re here because you’ve INVESTED in something you believe has appreciation potential.

THERE’S A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INVESTMENT AND USE!

Marketing campaigns are for end users once there’s something to be used, and everybody’s right about saying that we have nothing to market to end users yet.

HOWEVER, EVERYONE IS WRONG IN THINKING THAT WE ARE THE ONLY “INVESTORS” ON THE PLANET.

There are thousands like us, who are willing to INVEST IF THEY KNEW ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY!

Or how do you intend to explain to everyone just how special and unique you are in being a member of a very select club of DGB illuminati? That is absurd. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ordinary folk who are just as smart as us and just as willing to get involved in DGB IF THEY KNEW ABOUT DGB!

THERE IS NO MARKETING CAMPAIGN and there won’t be one for a long time until there is something for end users to actually use.

In the meantime there is AN INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY that needs to be disseminated.

The functionality of the base product is working phenomenally well. The development continues its steady pace full steam ahead. Leave those things alone, and give your minds a break. IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT!

WORK WITH WHAT YOU’VE GOT!

AND YOU’VE GOT A GREAT INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE WITH OTHERS.

(Of course the short term traders are not going to want to have anything to do with something so positive for both the short and long terms, or anything for that matter that will change the P&D dynamics of cryptos - certainly you haven't missed the P&D looks of the long term DGB chart - nor will those hoping to get back in on the cheap.)

The future is bright with DigiByte.
Some good points being made so far. Obviously the price reduction is depressing and we all want to see it go up, but I believe that reward reduction is not the way to go at the moment. Ultimately we have to increase user adoption and services before bitcoin starts gaining popularity, otherwise DGB will be left in the dust. Gaining traction is difficult, but once reached it takes on a life of it's own.

I can see some of the frustrations here are coming about because the Digibyte team can't talk about potential deals/projects. Obviously we don't want anything to be compromised because of a leak or open discussion before things are settled.

Personally I was hoping to get the Digispeed fork completed before the marketing campaign (easier said than done I know) as being able to claim that you can handle more transactions per second than VISA or have a larger block size than bitcoin to handle all the extra transactions is a massive selling point.

I will be interested to see what the plan is for marketing.

Good points you made out there.

Digispeed is going to be the best buying point, while everybody busy with bitcoin Block size. We could have just said "yeah here it is on DGB" !!! But lets see what is happening!

So like a week or two ago I downloaded the digihash easy miner of digibyte.co and was getting some weird errors then I downloaded v2 from the post that was linked a few pages back.

Can someone verify that the digibyte.co has the newest version of the easy miner?

Also, as a feature request. When I hit the "play" button, can we get an easy to read hashes per sec and GPU stats?  I often have a hard time finding it through the mass amounts of text flying by.  The text is great for debugging but maybe a section on the blue bar where there is a stats readout would be nice.

also....is there a way to mine on my CPU and my GPU at the same time with the easy miner?

Community Liaison,How can i help you?
maybe the dev can buy the coins  .

The guys who made the $250k investment can easily pump price to 500 sat without it even causing a dent to them. Why you think a lot of asian miners mining this coin.

I'm concerned DGB isn't doing enough to cement itself as one of these leading contenders.

And i´m 100% sure you are 100% wrong Cheesy

That's crap... they would mine and hold not dump which isn't what we are seeing. And if they were buying they'd have services ready to go to benefit and win on price which they don't.

Pure speculation and rubbish.

Point is DGB doesn't have the base at present. Cheap DGB is fun yes but without a push on adoption and services its doomed to fail. 4 years is too long.... if services and adoption isn't in place within the next year it'll be a permanent downward spiral. Its the age of crypto true but what happens in the next year will define which cryptos take root and prosper.

I'm concerned DGB isn't doing enough to cement itself as one of these leading contenders.

I hear again and again this argument "But, the other coins ..." DGB is not the USD and is not the BTC. DGB is (only) DGB and stand in competition with all other coins.

500sat 1000sat, is an illusion atm. maybe in 4 years... why should the users invest her money now and not only in 3 years? no buy-argument available. only the longterm hope. Therefore, we have the situation.

Profit is profit, buy at 30 and sell at 33.1 and you make 10% gains. It doesn't need to go to 60 to make big profits.

Its lack of a high user base / adoption and services...

The dump continues because there is little competition in mining so those that can throw a bunch at it get rewarded well. They have no interest in digibyte just the bitcoin it returns on the sale.

So the answer is increase user adoption... create services.

Once digibyte becomes more adopted and mined its more competitive and becomes less of a focus on these auto sell miners. They will move to other smaller easier coins.

That's why I suggested adding the easy miner to the wallet to combine with the user adoption... its 2 birds one stone and i'm not sure why this suggestion hasn't been taken seriously as its something not seen in normal qt wallets. Services are up to us. Jarod has the dev under control but he has limited time.

If everyone sits on their asses whining about the price yet talking about how they believe so much then it will go down. If you believe in the coin do your part. Go tell your friends have them download the wallet.. gift them some coins... get them and others to do faucets... convert the btc gained to dgb from cryptsy... faucet up doge as well convert to btc then dgb. Sure its low amounts but in large user bases it adds up. Everyone can do something.... most people are just complaining rather than doing their share for what they supposedly believe in... lets quit with the age of entitlement and progress it. Buying dgb then bitching about how its not increasing in price so you can make a profit isn't doing anything for anyone.

Rough but it had to be said.
