Well done for going through the process of photographing the items and for providing information and review along the way so we can all have an understanding. I hope icopress will be able to receive his items from you when it is possible.

I take it the ledger was the item you were looking forward to receiving the most and as that has not arrived there is disappointment. As you tracked it to your country, hopefully it will be with you soon 

Congratulations to the organization, which made a set of well-made merchandising products for the event.
The idea of the box is very good, you can put it on the side of the trophies.

I am happy to announce that I received my prizes for BCA 2022   -- at least, almost all of them (the Ledger from Betnomi did not arrive yet, but based on its tracking code I see that it already arrived in Romania so it's just a matter of days until I'll receive it).

So there are 3 packages: 1 for me and 2 for icopress:





2 of these packages are for BCA 2022 (1 for me and 1 for icopress), the prizes being described here. Third package is for icopress from BCA 2020. In case anyone is wondering why I received his packages this is because this was his will. I will hodl them for him until he may be able to receive them.

Inside my package there were 2 art prints (showing same picture; one smaller and one really big) and a pair of white gloves:


I placed the phone and a water bottle on the art print to keep it from rolling. fillippone should be happy, because I did not use a plastic bottle full of wine and I used a water bottle instead  

The art print feels somehow silky when being touched.

This is what it was inside icopress' package from BCA 2022:


An identical art print, but bigger in size, was present too. However, unlike me, icopress did not get gloves looool!

Now we get to the package from BCA 2020.

Now let's see what was inside (I had icopress' willing to open his packages):

First of all, some interesting wooden-shaped Bitcoin-related items and an orange, plastic, Bitcoin-related toy (?) -- not sure what that orange thing is, but it changes its shape (as it can be seen below):

Inside the package there were also some Bitcoin-related stickers, 3 metal beer bottle openers, 3 customized crayons, a personalized shirt and a "thank you" message for icopress

All in all, I can say that I was very glad when these packages arrived. While the art prints are interesting (they can also be framed), the package from 2020 looks amazing. From the shape of it (placing icopress' name on it, QR codes, winners list... Bitcoin-related theme and so on) to what was inside it -- all these are looking very nicely!

I think this category must be the most difficult to vote for all users.
Because the name and its definition is very susceptible to being interpreted in many ways. It can be seen as something positive or less positive. So, everything will depend on the mental disposition of the voter, at the time of the choice.

Maybe in the future, redefining the category description can help you make choices that are more in line with the idea with which it was created.

Just watching how fun is this antihero category. Members are nominated here because of the negative connotation caused by some bad actions, nevertheless, a prize is intended for this group as well.
I don't want to stir up drama here, but isn't it funny that, for example, Poker Player voted for Royse777 as an antihero and thus helped Royse to win the award?  We all already know that relationship well, PP's desire to cause him as much damage as possible turned into his opposition and helped him win the prize. maybe not a decisive vote, but certainly a vote of support. 

Honestly, this excuse for your laziness is probably one of the weakest and least convincing. I understand that in some parts of the world, plagiarism may not be considered a major offense, but I have never heard of it being used as a way of expressing gratitude.


Well, you've included him in the Craft Master category but forgot to remove his personal musings. How crafty of you!

Good for him I would say he got lucky and escaped this situation since he's still posting... if admin banned him they could have, since they had the reason with proof.

If you want to express gratitude, how hard can it be to type it? Example:
"I copied most of shahzadafzal's votes because of his contribution to our local community."

Now you've accomplished the opposite of what you (supposedly) wanted:

Honestly speaking, the reason I made the post was to express gratitude towards Shahzad Afzal's significant contribution to our local community on the Bitcointalk forum, where he provides valuable information about Bitcoin and technology. I also wanted to acknowledge his efforts in attracting new members. This is why I followed his voting decision and included him in the Craft Master category.

This remember of a guy which showed a sort of office full of muslims, saying this is how they work there and this is why they copy-paste each other or use same crypto addresses... I don't remember exactly the situation but I remember that LoyceV trolled once one of them, quoting his picture of the office and asking him if this was how his workspace looked like Maybe LoyceV remembers and shows that priceless photo It could be used here, to see how Sayeds56 was in same office with shahzadafzal. (Just kidding though.)

Now let me help you out a little about second option you gave

Playing devil's advocate: maybe the two are extremely good buddies, e.g. sat together to choose a winner for each category, and in the end both submitted the identical vote. I do personally think it's unlikely, but not impossible. A more likely variation: poster 2 highly trusts poster 1 and mostly agrees with his opinions (and by extension, votes). He feels lazy to question every single choice to maybe come up with better nominees himself, and just copy / pastes the whole vote instead.

That's an even better question for his campaign manager. 

Umm.. seeing that he just posted below your post I believe he was not banned, or not yet. Let's see how things will develop though... If he's lucky enough he'll end up just with having one post deleted, which is not hard to live with. However, even if it will be so, I think he learned his lesson.

Just curious though: why did you make the post? Since you had clearly absolutely no reason to vote (otherwise you would certainly spend some time to think about who to nominate) why did you make that post?

Excepting the above question, have you ever considered of implications of such behavior in case dozens of users would do it? Imagine someone would nominate multiple users which would not deserve to be nominated and after that a dozen copy-paste his vote. This could lead to (1) having an incorrect winner (or more) and / or (2) to have the one counting votes spending a lot of precious time in vain, just to analyze copy-pasted votes in order to not count them.

Seriously, why act like this? For what purpose?

I apologize for my unintentional mistake which was not made with the intention of gaining any advantage. It was simply due to my laziness and I would be grateful if you could forgive me.

As I said in my earlier post,


So don't worry, the original poster's nominations are legit. The problem is that some are really too lazy and, for making more posts or for whatever weird reason they may have, they just copy what others nominated, without realizing that by doing so they also influence the results of the competition. And, excepting that the idea itself is weird and unethical, it may also impact some candidates which will receive multiple votes only because someone is too lazy to think about who he thinks is more suitable to a certain category.

Oooops that escalated quickly Oo I was barely trying to say something funny in my earlier post, about reporting for plagiarism, initiating of a flag and negative feedback.

Nevertheless, it actually is plagiarism, although it's a very dumb one I did not actually think to do all those actions. But anyway, it was unfair what the user did, this can't be denied. Let's see the resolution of the report now. This may create a precedent for future contests and, in case the report will be marked as Good and a penalty will be applied to the user then this may be a good incentive for everybody to avoid copy-pasting even it the context is a contest on the forum.

I wouldn't be so sure that one plagiarized post from a high ranking account will mean an instant ban. Few years ago it would be, but nowadays not so much as mods became more lenient.
