I'd say: report the post for plagiarism, but don't tag the account. There was nothing to gain by voting, so it's not like he cheated a contest.
+1

Tagging and flagging might be an overkill for this case. This laziness deserves to be punished though so I think that something like a temporary sig ban would be adequate.

I don't know but reporting the post will definitely end up in a ban.

Admins will see the report and it will be a straightforward case of copy paste.

Too bad for Sayeds56 such a stupid mistake can cost him this much.

Tagging him so he will be notified I don't know if he can justify this but I'm feeling sorry for him.

Question both votes are not counted? or my vote will be counted??
There's no reason for your vote not to be counted as he is the one who copy/pasted yours.

Will you present the list of all nominees for each category?

Umm... I think it would be a very difficult work to do it. If you take a look at the result from 2021 or 2020 you can also see that not all nominees were listed. Only those with at least 3 votes.

On the other side, I think it can be implemented a "code - /code" sequence at the bottom of the topic and list there (obviously, without hyperlinks) the names of all other nominees which are not listed in the upper part, meaning those which had 1 or 2 nominations.

I understand perfectly!

I don't know how you guys are collecting the data. But if you need any help, just say so.
But, that's not important right now. We can look into this later if you want to be clear.  Wink

About plagiarism -- should I also report it in the adequate thread + give negative feedback and initiate a flag against the plagiarist? Smiley

Thank you Gazeta for this incredible work! I cannot think how efficient and convolute is your AI driven scraping tool that automatically get the votes, checks the profile requirements, updates the charts and checks for plagiarism!

Loooooooool! Only if it would be that easy... heh Smiley

- this year we had 166 unique users nominated for 10 categories. Excepting them, some were also nominated as being event or fail of the year Oo

Will you present the list of all nominees for each category?

Regardless of the answer, do not do anything now that will interfere with the output of the results.

Until then I will share some statistics and interesting things about current votes!

- this year we had 166 unique users nominated for 10 categories. Excepting them, some were also nominated as being event or fail of the year Oo

- the greatest number of nominations received by a user was 87

- the biggest difference between a first place and a second place was 62 votes

- franky1 tried to abuse the system, by meriting 2 of those who nominated him as antihero, in order to have less votes at this category (facepalm)

- some users had their votes denied for breaking the "no-merit rule" (such examples are minerjones, which has 2 votes unaccounted, for giving merits to those nominating him (link 1, link 2) or ChiBitCTy, which has one vote denied, for same reason (link))

- votes of Atikah92, BTC_Mouse, burugcrypto, PaperWallet, Popkon6, halim50_ and Rbolisna were not counted, as they have less than 50 merits

- 5 votes for satoshi, 4 for Lauda and 1 for asu were also not counted, due to their inactivity

- some mentions of event / fail of the year were also not counted, as they written with words which did not make any sense ("FAILED TO EARN AND HOLD 1btc", "Situación Actual", "Cancel Culture on social media", "Some exchanges are at war", "Get Your Funds Out of Exchange", "BUY THE DIP AND HODL")

- some votes for nominees which had their name written wrong were merged together (Lafu & Lafu01, Majestic_milf & Majestic_miff, The Sceptical Chymist & The Pharmacist, Timelord2067 & TimeLord, fillippone & Phillippone etc.)

- obvious case of copy=paste votes, such as the ones from the example below, won't be counted anymore:

It's no point to be that lazy, to simply copy-paste a previous vote. Obviously, such cases may be hard to spot, especially if a voter from page 9 of the voting topic will copy someone which posted at page 1 or 2. Still, if such cases will be spotted, the one which copy-pasted will have the votes denied (the votes are still eligible for the initial poster, as this one has nothing to do with the fact that his post was copy-pasted later).

Having that said, I think that in the next few days we'll have final results!  Cheesy

These two weeks are too long. Still two days to go?  Grin
Everything will be fine. Good things take time. Even if it takes more than two weeks, it wouldn't be bad. The whole counting takes time and everyone wants it to be correct. So they have all the time in the world. Nobody is angry if it takes longer.  Wink Cheesy

And, speaking of votes counting, I am announcing you that the process has started today and it will last 1-2 weeks at max. During this period the voting topic will be locked, until the list of winners will be officially announced.

Just a small correction

Fixed, thank you. The difference is very small between "Spam" and "Scam" Smiley

Oh ffs...and I was even thinking why is he already counting votes if its not over yet. Procrastination is a serious sickness.

I am sorry, my dear Rikafip... perhaps you missed my earlier post...

The 60 days of voting for Bitcointalk Community Awards 2022 edition have passed today, as the contest was started on November 18th, 2022.

You know Gazeta is a strange breed. He always count things: plastic bottles, couches, cycled merits...

Lol! I do beet you can recycle the votes for 2023 contest.

Looooooooooool!

Even though this isn't the most recent statistics, I was nonetheless quite surprised by the outcome of the last Bitcointalk community awards. If you hadn't mentioned me, I wouldn't have known that I came in second Cheesy

Hihi! Perhaps I could add you to the statistics, as The most innocent runner-up: Maus0728, which did not know (even one year later!) that he ended on second place at Craft Master category Smiley

However, it's wonderful to see my name on the list because it makes me feel happy that my artwork has at least had some impact on the community and has been appreciated. Cheesy

I am glad I was able to make you happy!

- smallest number of votes a winner had: o_e_l_e_o was elected in 2020 as Bitcoin Geek with 21 votes, followed by Rikafip and Ratimov, 2020 winners of Spambuster and Discovery of the Year Category, both receiving 31 votes
Just a small correction, I won Scambuster award narrowly beating marlboroza by 4 votes, and not the Spambuster one.

While votes counting is still in progress, I thought to take a look in the past and see some nice statistics from previous two editions of BitcoinTalk Community Awards!

First of all, let's remember the winners and the runner-ups:

2020 edition

2021 edition

- there were 16 unique winners during both contests: hilariousandco, suchmoon, Rikafip, CryptopreneurBrainBoss, Ratimov, o_e_l_e_o, LoyceV, Hhampus, Lauda, satoshi, theymos, TryNinja, n0nce, lovemayfamilis, franky1 and Foxpup

- 6 of them managed to earn two prizes at different categories; from these, 3 managed to win at different categories: hilariousandco (Best Moderator in both years), o_e_l_e_o (Bitcoin Geek in both years), Hhampuz (Craft Master in both years), Ratimov (Discovery of the Year - 2020, SpamBuster - 2021), LoyceV (BitcoinTalk Ninja - 2020, Golden Feather - 2021), Lauda (Antihero, Miss Bitcointalk)

- curiously, while many expected TryNinja to win at BitcoinTalk Ninja category, he did not succeed in 2020; he took his revenge though, in 2021, by winning Smiley

- most votes a winner had: Ratimov was elected in 2021 as Best Spam Buster with 157 votes, followed by Hhampuz, with 151 (winner at Craft Master category) and TryNinja, also in 2021 (winner at BitconTalk Ninja category)

- smallest number of votes a winner had: o_e_l_e_o was elected in 2020 as Bitcoin Geek with 21 votes, followed by Rikafip and Ratimov, 2020 winners of Scambuster and Discovery of the Year Category, both receiving 31 votes

- biggest difference between first place and second place: 102 votes difference between Hhampuz and Maus0728 (Craft Master); 74 votes difference between Ratimov and actmyname (Spam Buster); 46 votes difference between TryNinja and LoyceV (BitcoinTalk Ninja) and also 46 votes difference between theymos and satoshi -- a sort of clash of the titans Smiley -- (Hero of Good). All these differences were recorded at second edition of the contest.

- smallest difference between first place and second place: 1 vote difference between theymos and satoshi -- again, a sort of clash of the titans Smiley -- (also at Hero of Good category); 2 votes difference between Ratimov and fillippone (Discovery of the Year); 4 votes difference between o_e_l_e_o and theymos (Bitcoin Geek). All these differences were recorded at first edition of the contest.

- unluckiest nominee: DdmrDdmr, by far. He was elected once on second place (Golden Feather - 2021) and four times on third place (Discovery of the Year - 2020, Bitcointalk Ninja - 2020 & 2021, Craft Master - 2020) each time being close to win but without succeeding. Needless to say, he also got fourth place twice and once a seventh place, at other categories Oo Maybe he'll be lucky at third edition of the contest? Smiley

That's all for now, let's return to votes counting Smiley

Ladies and gentlemen,

The 60 days of voting for Bitcointalk Community Awards 2022 edition have passed today, as the contest was started on November 18th, 2022. I still can't believe that two months already passed, as it was like days before when the new contest was launched Smiley

Thank you all for the participation and involvement!

At a first sight, it seems that the new rules helped so far. As a plus, I believe that this year we also faced less votes from ineligible users (I am not 100% certain of that but this is how I feel, by looking through the posts). Obviously, this also helps during votes counting. Nevertheless, thank you also for trying to keep voting thread as clean as possible.
