Diversification is a great way to protect yourself economically. BTC is an excellent investment, but I would not invest all my savings in it.

One and a half k$ may sound not a lot. But it’s a good start. I would concentrate on privacy and POS coins. You can get a reasonable amount of each if, lets say, you spend 500 bucks on every project, so you would have 3 coins in your portfolio.

This sum of money is a very good stuff. You may not even invest your dollars in Bitcoin as the most expensive crypto. Try to buy several different reliable altcoins that are cheaper - OMG, Lisk, Stellar, Credits, Qtum.

Diversification of investments is the main rule of the investor. I think no more than 20% of your capital can be invested in the crypt. 20% - in gold and silver, 30% - in subsistence economy (land, house), 30% - real business.

It is good to diversify investment and through this way the risk can be stopped and for crypto industry the market analysis is must and in traditional investment many of the portfolio included high risky and less risky investment.

I don't actually think that it is worth it diversifying funds in 2018 because obviously the best choice is just BTC and nothing else, BTC is the most stable coin today.
Wow, did not think i would meet a person who thinks that way,  no offense of course. Putting in everything in BTC  and calling it stable Shocked Shocked Shocked. All the books i have ever read about portfolio management teaches us to diversify our portfolio to all possible extent.

if you are still in doubt and do not understand the crypto part, you better invest some of the funds in the cryptocurrency market,
how many coins "in the crypto
get short-term or long-term bail benefits depending on your wishes.

Usually they recommend you to diversify your investment, so you avoid losses.

But as a real approach, having $1.5k, would you invest in how many cryptocurrencies ?

What if I invest little by little, only in Bitcoin, would that work as well ?

If I am having $1,500 with me, then I would invest in at least a dozen different crypto currencies. But the allocation won't be uniform. Bitcoin is going to take at least 60% of all the available funds, with the vast majority of the rest going to established alts such as ETH, XMR, BCH and ADA.

My investment strategy is!

When the market is bad, invest in BTC or ETH to make money!

When the market is hot, you can invest in multiple altcoins to double the profits!
this is a good idea but must be clever and careful in choosing the best altcoin, because there are currently thousands of altcoins

Yeah, bitcoin is the best coin but we all know that is hard to pour your investment in a very high value coin like bitcoin that’s why those you are having a tight budget would prefer potential but low value  altcoins. And diversify investments to avoid big lose of money because the market condition is very unpredictable. Bitcoin is very good but for long term investment which needs perseverance and patience.

You should diversify your investment outside crypto aswell to minimize the risk, it's no use buying several coins when the market crash like a few months ago because you'll still lose a lot, that's why you should diversify outside crypto, and to answer your question, I will just split it into two because the amount is rather small and the return won't be that high if I put it in several different coins.

I do believe in this idea because not all goes just the same. Other ceyptocurrency behaves differently just make sure they are not that related otherwise if it is affected by dumping of prices then you will lose just the same.

Diversify only if you believe on those altcoins as we know altcoins can fall more than 50% of the normal prices as this may give you too much risk if you did not choose the right coins.

investment place is not only bitcoin, there are many others like property, gold, silver or other commodity.if you put all of your money , when it drop sharply you could loss your money.
But when it goes up sharply, what we get is going to be huge, the opportunity to make money and lose just separated at a very small distance, so the key to this problem is still greed and confidence, accept the loss of each person. Diversification of investment is to enhance safety and expand opportunities, but in return, it constitutes a limitation on profitability while focusing on one point is the opposite, knowing that maybe people will have a simpler and more appropriate choice for their personality

I think that for this year it is really better just to stick closer to BTC and ETH, maybe even only BTC; all alts surely just follow the market and nothing more, they are way weaker than BTC.
Bitcoin would definitely be the most stable investment for investors to choose in the huge crypto-currencies trading market, but I guess investors could still purchase some other popular altcoins to diversify their investment portfolio, as some of the altcoins might have a huge chance to increase greatly in their values too during a bullish market.
Yes, I agreed with you. Diversifying to other altcoins is most likely do in investors who want to earn huge income in trading or either in holding long term. Because there are some profitable altcoins that having potential in having profit. Just what like I did this few days 15% of my bitcoin stock I diversify into Ethereum since it is cheap in the market. There are other altcoins that have potential when you diversify but I must prefer on Ethereum as of now.
