Actually, it's like you asking 'do we need samsung while we have apple. The bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, it's a trigger for created of another cryptocurrency. But as a first crypto, there should be still many flaws in it. On the other hand, there's a people or might be a group who want to create something better than bitcoin function, and then new crypto was born and we call it altcoin. And it's happening all the time. So yes, we need it as a comparison for its usability.
It seems to me that you are confusing 1.Bitcoin HARDFORK and 2.ALTCOINS. Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X is a Bitcoin fork, they provide larger blocks. Altcoins are ETH, DASH, ZEC and etc, they provide features like full anonymity, smart-contracts and etc.
I agree that there a lot of altcoins, but I think altcoins make the way for great tech and innovations. Of course you have BTC, but alts have so much potential for different applications.
I agree. You can and will be able to use altcoins for variety of projects. They are specifically optimized for particular intended use. From advertising purposes to banking purposes. So they are must!
If you are a trader its a compulsory,if you are a bag holder you dont need to buy a lot of alts you just need BTC.

if I am, obviously I really need altcoin because altcoin is a coin that is no less good with Bitcoin Cash and the like, altcoin is an amazing and very profitable coin.
In my opinion. Yes beacuse we are currently in a phase where we are heading to a new era which I think is called virtualera or internet era. I believe altcoins are necessary just like different fiat money because this would be their accepted payment.

Off course it a yes, we need altcoins very much because there are still many good altcoins to invest for and we all know that as of know the price of bitcoin is almost $12k so it is very high unlike to altcoins that is very affordable to invest for and i am very sure that investing here in altloins is we can make many from it.

In my opinion we need altcoin to resell and buy bitcoin, this in a fast way of gain, another factor is the realization of several projects destined to several areas with different price and that moves the market.
Because 99% of them are glorified pump and dump schemes. Only 3-4 of them max will every find any applicable use in the next year or two. Look into the coins. Research, and you'll see the coins draw investors because of a particular set of features or unique utility. Asking why we "need" all of the coins is like asking, if you were an investor in the dotcom boom, why we needed Gmail when we had AOL.
Coins like LBC FLO SC SJCX all have uses beyond the coin themselves.

We always need altcoins for anyways altcoins is the future of cryptocurrency,altcoin is the way how to have bitcoin,we keep on earning altcoin to have bitcoin in our wallet and we exchange bitcoin to gain fiat currency,The alts create a playground for testing features and concepts that would never make their way quickly into bitcoin.

Altcoin makes crypto world so interesting, they create another opportunity to create profit and also passive income. As long altcoin keep follow bitcoin as coins mother, there's nothing too worry about it. You should see it as chance to grow up your skill and capital become more and more bigger. I think the possibility for when altcoin seems less in the interest by the people, because less understood with altcoin or can be said still strange in their ears, but chances are in the future altcoin may already in use by all walks of life.

Can you please direct to the point?My answer to the question is absolutely yes, we need altcoins in crypto currency world to become balance the competition of digital currency. Otherwise altcoins is a good substitute to bitcoin if in case that bitcoin value is fall down the price.
