I dont think people are reading the whitepaper. the things is that most of the people who investing on ICO is only following other people movement.

I think at least you will feel comfortable because you put your hard-earned money into a project you've learned. But I believe 'luck' plays a role here too.
I'm sure most people do not actually use whitepapers, sometimes I do not either. They may just put the keyword "best ICO to invest in 2018" on google and invest in it.
But I agree with @whirlcoin, if you really want your investment to be worth it then reading a white paper, it does not guarantee the project will work if you read it.

Yeah I read whitepaper before investing in any ICO. This is a very important part of any ICO. But to join any bounty I did not read cause bounty will not give me any loss.

Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.

I didn't read any whitepaper because that is a waste of time.. I am just reading the platform of the ICO and not the whole whitepaper, that is so boring and a waste of time, my suggestion to you is to research a little bit in an ICO, than reading it's whitepaper.

You can skip some very tech-heavy chapters and still get a lot of info about a coin. Still better then don't read it totally.

I read a whitepaper a couple of times, but that's because I wanted to invest in the projects. Usually, I don't read whitepapers while participating in a bounty. I'm just looking at the idea, the route sheet and the development team.

If I'm honest, not very often! Most of them tell me about iico on the page, for example, icobench or on this forum. When they are very interested in ICO, I read some site in the White Paper, but not all. Because they just lazy. Most of you will say that it's dangerous like this, but I do not care. I do not need to know how it will work 100%, everything that interests me most is the price of the coin / token when it gets on the list.

Sure... I read whitepapers too often. In fact, I am an article writer. You can't write article for any project without first reading their white paper to know what the project entails. I read white paper also to know how strong and solid any coin of my interest is, before investing my hard earned money.

Yes, I do read whitepapers. Whitepaper are written documents which entails a lot about ICOs. I like to earn enough tokens from these ICOS as a bounty hunter so I decide to write blogs for them. Writing of blogs for any ico requires you to read a whitepaper about the ICO to know much about the ICO. Ofcourse, I don’t read the entire whitepaper. I only read some key and relevant areas to be able to create nice contents for handsome rewards.

This is the main reason that people lose their money. Most of them just do not understand where they are investing their money.

Depends on the project sometimes i do read whitepaper, if it's comprehensive information and it offers good protection and privacy for data uses then i would love to join the token sale. However things change coz kyc is needed and i don't want to show off my information.

For a quick analysis of whitepaper, I chose several important parameters:
1)Comprehensive information delivery
2)Readability
3)Clarity
4)Business plan presentation
5)Presentation of technical implementation
6)Technology
7)Decentralization
8)Developer Activity on github.
All parameters I estimate by 1-5 points. If there were more than 20+ points, then this project is not bad ...
But if you really want to invest in this project, then you need a full and detailed study.  Wink
this one is a good example how to read the whitepaper and by this we can separate the important things

I read whitepaper of all ICO project which i join. Whitepaper has full information you need about a project. It's worth to pay time to read whitepaper. For investors which didn't read whitepaper, they are not smart investors and they will lose their funds some they, because they didn't read whitepaper, and fall in scam or bad projects.

I do not understand all the technical features of the coin, I try to read the white paper because it helps me understand more the project. I think that only an experienced trader can truly distinguish a scam from a real project by reading documentation.

Many of those who wrote here are right, reading whitepaper is very important. But do not focus your attention only on her. Scammers can order from freelancers and they will make a quality whitepaper. It is important to consider the project from all sides. Idea, team, participation in international conferences, etc.

If you plan to invest your money in the ICO project, you must read the whitepaper of the project, or at least understand its main idea and strategy. Otherwise, you risk losing your money. I agree that it takes a lot of time, but it is necessary if you want to make profit.

I almost always study whitepaper. This is the main document of the project and it helps to understand the basic goals and plans of the team. Of course it is very convenient when there is one pager - it is very convenient and helps to reduce the time, but the problem is that not all projects provide such a document

yes I read it, to find out more details what is on offer the project and give me little understanding of the plan before I participate or invest but that's not the only way, I prefer to understand all aspects of what the project offers and I read it.
