In Michigan, it's illegal for a citizen to use deadly force to stop a property crime. Rodriguez got 18 months of probation for reckless discharge of a weapon and had her gun license revoked. She thinks the punishment would have been harsher, but the cops caught the shoplifters after she shot out their tires

This question mostly goes to americans (or  residents of any other country where it is legal).
Do you have any firearms? For what purpose do you have it and  have you ever used it?
Everyone else can discuss if people should have a right to have a gun or not.
In my country, having a gun must get permission from the government and not everyone can have it
I am very worried if someone is emotional and can not control anger, may be able to misuse a gun

I do not have a gun. But i'm planning to buy one. For me, having a licensed firearm is a good idea. Having a gun in the house or in a car, will make you feel safer, it may help you in times of need or emergency. A lot of weird and crazy things can happen to us that's why let's plan to buy a gun and have a license and proper training for it.

No, I do not have a weapon.I certainly do not think about using it.Countries should apply very strict sanctions for this.As gun use increases, people tend to solve their problems themselves. The more guns there are, the more chaos they have.

I do not have a gun and I will never have a gun because I am completely againts personal armaments . According to me , It is  easier to kill people with firearms than killin people with a knife etc. For that reasons, civilian people do not need to have firearms.

I lived in the US for 5 years and i never owned a gun. Personally because i was born in UK it is alien to me owning a firearm, there is simply no need for it.

Although i shot a lot of guns and it is a lot of fun! So i get why people would own one. Each to their own.

I don't but I respect and defend the right of people who wants to have one, as long as they are mentally fit for it.

Self-defense, sports and patriotism top the reasons for owning a weapon
Self-defense. Crime is a fact. ...
Sports & Hunting. Hunting rifles are keepsakes in many families and are a source of fun and joy for owners. ...
Patriotism. Expressing one's patriotism can be overt or subtle, and owning a firearm can be both.

I'm assuming they saw my gun. That's when they opened fire from their vehicle. I heard the gunshots coming at me. That's when I pulled my gun and returned fire," she says.

I don't, having a gun as well as un-funding a gun is to be used, and I can't charge my whole life with some other life.
