Nope. What else do we use firearms for ? Of course to shoot someone or something else, in this days why need a gun when we are at peace, we are not in a war. Guns are only needed and intende to be use to kill, why would buy some dangerous tool for killing when we have our law enforcer. The best way to protect in yourself is learning some martials arts.
In this days of peace you can pursue your dreams there are no need for guns this isn't war. Well, human nature is really violent beings

nope...
and i am not planning to have one...
simply having gun may already cause trouble to  someone especially in our country...
perople with evil minds might do something really bad to take your gun away from you...
thereby endangering your life and your family's safety.

This question mostly goes to americans (or  residents of any other country where it is legal).
Do you have any firearms? For what purpose do you have it and  have you ever used it?
Everyone else can discuss if people should have a right to have a gun or not.

I don't have one. I don't think its necessary for me even though times are changing probably not for the better. Having a gun puts you ina situation to use it. It puts you in a situation to kill or be killed. I still believe that we don't need that. If everyone will possess a gun, licensed or not, we may go down to anarchy in simple misunderstanding

Since the crime rate here is quite high, I had applied for a gun licence a year back. But due to the bureaucracy and red tape, I had to cancel my application. Getting a gun license in India is quite complicated, and you need to waste a lot of your time and effort on it. That is why many of us purchase illegal guns, rather than going through all these formalities.

I do not own a weapon although I am not a gun hater or anything I believe guns can lead to even more danger than not owning a gun because you feel like you need to intervene in a dangerous situation.  If I could I would own at least one in case of civil war and what not to protect myself.

No and it's actually kind of hard to have a fire arm legally possessed here. Mostly hunters, police officers, etc.. can have guns in private and tbh we don't really need them here, but of course a lot of people owning guns against the law. Even tho I'd love to have one, makes me feel a lot more secure when I'm sometimes walking in some little less populated streets.

I'm in the Southeastern US where guns are quite common, but I don't personally own one. I'm very pro second amendment, but it's a personal pact I have with myself. Too many run ins with depression for me to trust myself with a fire arm.

Even though I wish to have one because of the issue of insecurity around this side of the world, I cannot have one beacuse individuals are not allowed to carry gun without some high level of scrutiny and procedures which makes it too expensive for a common man on the street like me who is faced with serious threat everyday right from the mere fact of living on this street, exposure to insecurity is even on the highest side of things.

I do not have a gun, because in my country has a standard rule about gun ownership, not everyone can have a gun because the gun can be a dangerous item when misused.
Gun ownership licenses are very tight, even for lightweight guns such as soft gun air is also tightly regulated, because it can be misused by people who intend crime.
Indeed we are also entitled to have a gun to defend ourselves when there is a crime against us, but please note that the provision of weapons ownership must be strictly regulated.

I do not have any weapons and this is very bad, because at any moment I can be attacked by criminals and I will only have to pray that the police arrived as soon as possible.

I don't have any gun, though all of us have the rights to have as long as your gun have licence and register to agency of the government. That 's the law we had it in here.

Yes, i do have my own personal gun. I always carry it if i'm going at places that is not really safe and secure (e.g. hiking, camping). Another reason for having my gun is for my self-defense, specially for defending myself if i'm threatened. In our country you have to be registered and legal to be able to use your own personal gun.
Cool! What gun do you have? Do you have only one gun? Have you ever used it?
Heared that some ppl have more than just one gun (for example one for practicing and the other one for daily "usage").
