Short-term, yes. Alts outperform BTC for short periods of time, but longer-term BTC has always been the best, until 2017.

A few months back, Ethereum came so close to overtaking Bitcoin, but eventually it fell back. Now I think that it is the turn of Bitcoin Cash to give BTC the run for its money. Nothing is permanent in the digital world. It takes only a few years for some new innovation to get to the top. Remember the Google vs Yahoo battle?

My concern here is not the technical aspect of bitcoin but it's price.  That is fine to them as long as they are making money. And with bitcoin, the profit is really at high stake. All of them just focus on it's price that's why I considered them altcoins as other money making scheme.

Nope I don't see any chance of other alts to take over bitcoin. Bitcoin firmly take it's place. And day by day its getting more and more popular. Though there are transaction issues in bitcoin, its value is the main thing. People are not likely to invest or put their money in any kind of risk, so many people avoid other alts.

Although all possibilities can happen to bitcoin, but I'm not sure there will be altcoin that can replace the function and role of bitcoin as a source of digital currency trading.
And so far the contribution of bitcoin is so great for advancement of cryptocurrency that it attains popularity and also high confidence from all walks of life in different countries.

I think alts have a good chance in terms of the services and capabilities that come with them. But bitcoin is limited and also in demand. So only time and tech will tell

I have been seeing Bitcoins' price rising with a stability in its growth, but due to the higher mining fee that is being levied on transactions these days, big businesses are now moving their funds towards alts and taking advantage with their least fees as well as shaping a completely new economy in the trends of altcoin markets. Do you think this may harm Bitcoin's dignity and open up a chance in real for alts to rise?
I see one thing for sure, altcoins are hard to resist bitcoin and can not replace it. But in the future I would like to have an altcoin that can replace botcoin.

Bitcoin will always have a top spot due to it being the first. There is potential out there with other alts like LTC and ETH. And who knows, there may be another coin not yet created that truly takes the number 1 spot!

Yes they have, and it is okay with me because technically they would be bitcoin's predecessors. It's either bitcoin improves , adapts and increases in acceptability or other cryptocurrencies will take over the spot light in the future.

Maybe there is a chance that alt coins have chances against bitcoin but bitcoin is powerful it is really established and its hard to break. Maybe alt coins have 20% chances.

In the future alts may have some power but at the moment there is no strength on alt coins side.
Its depend on the developer, they have to make  good plan to make their coin become attractive all the time. But probably not to take over bitcoin place as the number one crypto currency but atleast the altcoin has the loyal users that make that altcoin never die.

there could be a possibility that this scenario will happen.
but may not be in the near future.
let us remember that the vision with bitcoin is to be used as a currency.
but as of now people treat it as an asset, hindering the usage for all the world population.
so i guess if there will be a coin that can be used worldwide as a terms of payment in transactions for goods and service then i guess it will soar above bitcoin.

I do not see such chances there are reasons behind for not happening such...
Bitcoin is the master for all cryptocurrencies.

Other alts are like babies formed after Bitcoin.
If the main pillar itself is strong we can at least think about some lifespan for other alt babies
Alts never have such chances against bitcoin.
If bitcoin price is falling or destroyed chances of people holding their investment in other alts will be 5:100

I dont believe so, bitcoin is the father of all alt cash, and it has the greatest benefit among other cash. I think they will be a lot more nearer to the price but bitcoin will always gained. Bitcoin has the optimum have confidence in price also simply because it runs about several years ago. And numerous buyers invest on it. Bitcoin is the most populat amongst all.

There is no chance for any altcoin to get passed bitcoins. No way. Bitcoin is the real king.
The real king sometimes get detrone so we cannot be sure of that, although bitcoin is the most powerful crypto currency now
but we cannot determine the future so altcoins always has a chance to be more popular.
I believe the top 10 altcoins has a better chance.
Yes i agree for that. No one ever known in the future we cannot determine if altcoins had no chance to more popular. For now, no doubt that bitcoin is most famous crypto currency coin in crypto world and everyone know about this. But, the top 10 altcoins maybe in the future, will compete the bitcoin price because of hundreds of altcoins and shitcoins that existed at that time and competeting the value of other altcoins and its possible to make the value of one of the top 10 altcoins now will increase. But what im a talking about is altcoin have chances get thier value increases in the future but no chance get passed on bitcoin.

Altcoins like Ethereum and bitcoin cash have chance to challenge bitcoin, but other altcoins can hardly change BTC, because most of them are not useful and powerful like BTC. And btc is the most trustworthy.

I think both of them may not even reach near to bitcoin prices anytime. But ETH is much better option than BCC.

To be real, every alt coin or ICO token potentially have chance to be close to bitcoin maybe not in price but in popularity it can.
Some alts even moved up in price in last few days so for someone who invested in some coins this is good but for some they will be in bitcoin cuz its most valued.

Eventually if we look at price range not single alt can match to bitcoin, but some like ETH and maybe BTC and few others can be close with popularity.

I think everything is possible, because it is not controlled by anyone and the bubble can burst at any moment. But now it brings an excellent income Tongue
