Shouldn't you at least change the thread title, though? There's no "way to Russia" any more, as even Russia doesn't want to annex the clusterfuck that the Eastern rebels have turned that place into.

The rebels will be happy with independence, and I don't think that they want to merge with Russia either. They were just tired of being treated as second class citizens and being forced to speak a near-extinct language which no one really understands. Donbass will recover once the war is over. But Ukraine will never recover, without the coal mines and industries of Donbass.

Ukraine or what will be left of it will be an extremely costly headache for the western mob for years to come. Fortunately that mob is in an excellent financial shape so it won´t be much of a problem for it to support this basket case that they have created - the latest in a long string around the world. Good luck, g

During the months following the May 2nd massacre, the Obama-installed regime had repeatedly insulted Odessans, and reasserted its hostility and contempt toward them. In fact, President Poroshenko, who was ‘elected’ in an election among only far-right candidates that was held only outside Donbass and mainly in the northwest, actually went to Odessa on 13 November 2014 and he insulted the people there by saying, in a nationally televised “us” versus “them” tirade that clearly left the vast majority of Odessans as being in the “they” category:

“We will have our jobs. They will not. We will have our pensions. They will not. We will have care for children, for people, and retirees. They will not. Our children will go to schools and kindergartens. Theirs will hole up in basements [from our bombs].”

And that’s what he actually did; he specifically targeted schools. A retired Ukrainian general whose sympathies had been with Hitler’s troops displayed the nerve to respond to a Ukrainian soldier’s statement that his function was ethnic cleansing, by saying on a U.S.-funded television station in Ukraine,

“I want to offer the Ukrainian artillerists medals, to those who shell the city [Donetsk], the houses and the civilian population, … for they [artillerists] have deserved it [medals]. … The shelling there is done as intimidation, … not just object destruction, but intimidation [to get the population to flee to nearby Russia].”

And as for the destruction of the Donbass, well that´s actually always part of the ideology of this insane western mob and the nutballs it puts into power in the basket cases it has created. Saddam´s weapons of mass destructions and the al_Queda bullshit wasn´t the only sales pitch for the Iraq war scam. There was also supposed to be the reconstruction of Iraq, after Uncle Sam had blown everything to smithereens. This was what convinced many a small whore here and there to join that pathetic coalition of the willing. They hoped to get some crumbs from the feast.

And the same sales team with the same bankrupt ideas worked in Ukraine for the democrat part of this one-party system. With the familiar disastrous results. Neocons and neonazis, what could go right. But it´s all supposed to be creative destruction. It comes from their favorite brainbox there in Chicago, what the hell was his name, crazy as a loon, Leo Strauss ?

But now they´ve gone too far. This scam is too close for comfort for the Germans. They´re definitely not interested in poking the Russians. They want trade and commerce, not war. And they had just splendid relations before the mob ruined Ukraine and started this hopeless war. Thousands of companies depended on Russian business. All this creative destruction is light in the pocketbooks of German businessmen and workers.

It´s difficult to say how this disaster on Russia´s doorstep will develop. Certainly sane people can´t tolerate for long indiscriminate shelling of civilian areas. Or perhaps this will be allowed to go on until someone finally loses the patience and wipes out this shelling force once and for all. Only time will tell. Good luck, g

Well, the Donbass was and is extremely important for Russian armaments and other industrial production. They will always have very close ties to Russia. And to China through Russia. It will be rebuilt over time. I saw somewhere Donbass coal deals with China. Russia has all the aces here and the western mob just deuces. About the only one left whining over Ukraine in the west is George bloody Soros or what´s left of him.

Galdur, there is only one weakness with that otherwise compelling hypothesis. If Donbass ends up with Russia, it will be Russia that will have to rebuild it. Ukraine announced these days that the price tag for rebuilding everything that Ukrainians destroyed in Donbass will be several tens of billions dollars. Ukraine does not have this kind of money. USA and EU will not cough up for the destruction they instigated. And Russia is not particularly happy with getting the hot potato. This is one of the reasons that Russia twice(!) convinced the representatives for LNR and DNR to negotiate with Kiev.

I am afraid that Kiev is now actually desperate to off-load the destroyed regions, thus the recent offensive. Remember the words of Zaharchenko, who said that if Kiev breaks Minsk-2, there will be no new round of negotiations and that DNR will move out in the direction of Mariupol. Kiev has just set in motion this scenario.

And Kolomojskij is now reportedly in USA sitting it out. Famously he said that as Ukrainian law prohibits dual citizenship, but not triple, he therefore holds Ukrainian, Israely and American passes.

Russian Bear caught American Eagle in a Turkey Trap.

Ukraine quickly became a total mess and an incredible headache for the western mob. A chronic headache. It´s fast becoming another Kosovo, another disaster created by way worse than useless western mob crap.

No way the Russians didn´t foresee this and help it along. During Maidan police forces of the pro Russian president stood down allowing the mob to have its way. The Russians knew very well that nazis, kooks, oligarchs and other entities of no threat at all to them would get to power. Add that western powers with a 110% record in turning everything to shit that they touch were involved in picking the fruitcakes that would take over. For the Russians it was like a chess grandmaster playing patzers. And of course they got their beloved Crimea back. And the Donbass headed their way as will Malorussia in due course.

Just give it time. Let the Baltics, Poland, Romania etc. watch Kosovo 2 develop. See how they like that. Maybe it´ll be their turn later. Good luck, g

A wild turkey trap is made by first digging a ditch; then over one end is built a rude structure of logs, covered at the top. The structure should not be tight, but, of course, sufficiently close not to let the birds through. Indian corn is scattered about and in the ditch, and inside of the pen. The turkeys follow up corn in the ditch, and emerge from it on the inside. Once there, the silly birds never think of descending into the ditch, but walk round and round the pen, looking through the chinks of the logs for escape that way. To make all sure, the ditch should end about the center of the pen, and a bridge of sticks, grass and earth should be built over the ditch, just inside of the pen, and close to the logs; otherwise, in going around the bird might step inside the ditch, and once there it would follow the light and thereby reach the outside of the pen.

There comes another confirmation that Ukro-nazis waited for the Easter to strike a demoralisation blow of terror.

They started a massive offensive against Donbass today, using tanks. Over 50 tank rounds were fired, hitting a hospital and a church. 1 civilian is dead, three soldiers of the Novorossian army are wounded. The Novorossian army managed to fend off the Nazi aggression.

NATO equipment that had been purchased by Ukro-NaAzis for the extermination for Donbass civilians has cropped up for sale on Ukrainian part of the Internet:

A remote-controlled anti-tank rocket hit a car with two local journalists. Ukrainian Nazi side continues heavy shooting, so it is impossible to retrieve the bodies of these journalists at the moment.

Two journalists have been killed near Donetsk airport in eastern Ukraine, as a shell hit the car they were travelling in, officials from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have said.

"A car carrying two local journalists was destroyed by an anti-tank missile. It is not possible to recover the bodies at the moment due to heavy fire coming from the Ukrainian side. Currently we're trying to determine what news outlet the slain journalists were working for," a DNR militia source told the Sputnik news agency.

The last 24 hours have been the most turbulent one in Novorossia since signing of Misnk-2 (which is de-facto dead).
DNR was shelled and shot at 75 times over the last 24 hours, using all types of weapons (also above 100mm), except for self-propelled artillery.

There was a very strong explosion near a chemical-industrial complex near Grabari (Donetsk). Locals described it as a powerful flash followed by a shockwave (not sound). The factory is ablaze:
http://ria.ru/world/20150411/1058024805.html
http://tass.ru/proisshestviya/1896016

It looks like the Ukro-nazis have taken a leaf out of German Nazi book and intensify their intimidation and extermination campaign. It also looks like the previous predictions that Ukro-Nazis will start a massive aggression on the day of the Orthodox Easter as a symbolic threat to everything Slavic is coming to pass. And as with German Nazis 70 years ago, this strategy will backfire, further angering and alienating the local population, pushing more into resistance.

Odessa was not kind to Poroshenko, though, as usual he tried not to notice it:
https://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2015/04/11/odessa-greets-poroshenko-fascist-wont-pass/

Quote
On April 10th Odessa celebrated 71st anniversary of the liberation of the city from the German Nazis and associated Romanian invaders. Traditionally, the holiday is celebrated with mass parades, flowers, songs and red banners, since the city was liberated by the Soviet Army. People also wear yellow-and-black-striped Georgievskaya Lentochka (band). The celebrations are a big deal.

Odessa paid dearly for the invasion, including a water-deprived, bloody siege and occupation. As a result, Odessa became one of the 4 original Hero Cities of the Soviet Union, together with Moscow, Stalingrad and Leningrad (St. Pete). There is a movie called “Zhazhda” – “Thirst,” about the siege and a heroic raid by the marines to give water to the water-starved city.
...
In this video Poroshenko is shown making a speech at the iconic Odessa Port. In it he says that Odessa has greeted him very hospitably and that it has become a truly pro-Ukrainian city (last time he was in Odessa he announced Odessa had become a true Bandera (ukro-nazi) city). Meanwhile, the video shows people chanting, “Fascists, fascists,” in the background. Poroshenko says that Odessa now greets well the ATO (anti-Donbass military operation) soldiers – and the next snippet obligingly shows the crowd chanting: “Long live the Soviet Army” and “Odessa is the Hero City.”

Also, the recently-passed law on banning any Soviet-era symbology started in a renewed vigour in monument-felling. Kiev will also have to rename hundreds of streets, regions and even cities, which will cost billions of dollars. They even plan to rename Dniepropetrovsk (hopefully it will again have its historic name of Novorossijsk Tongue )

And this historical schizophreny has an unexpected side-effect, explored by Lada Ray in her newest sarcastically-toned article:

Crazy Asylum Overload: Ukraine Bans Communism – Goodbye Chinese Investments

Actually, while we are at it, please don’t forget to hand back to Russia the entire industrialized, export producing, developed and educated South and East of Ukraine, including: Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Zaporozhie, Krivoi Rog, Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts. All these oblasts were attached to then small Ukraine, usually called Malorossia, by communist Lenin. Please give Transcarpathia back to Hungary and Czechia, attached to Ukraine by communist Stalin. Please return to Poland Lvov, Ivano-Frankovsk and a few other oblasts, attached to Ukraine by the same communist Stalin.

Of course, the Crimea, once attached to Ukraine by communist Khrushchev, has already returned itself to its rightful home.

Kiev’s Economic Blockade Boosts Bitcoin Usage in Separatist East

With no banks or international payment systems currently servicing the 3.8 million residents living in secessionist territories of eastern Ukraine, Bitcoin transfers remain one of the few options.

Economic blockade

In November 2014, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, ordered the National Bank of Ukraine to make banks stop all money transactions in territories not under direct governmental control. This was part of his strategy to isolate the secessionist territories both financially and economically as all trade operations were also prohibited.

The Security Service of Ukraine has been taking measures against the secessionist regions with “the blocking of accounts, cards, various ‘bitcoins’ and so on, where the separatists are trying to funnel money,” according to the Head of the SBU, Valentyn Nalyvaychenko.

The RBC news agency reported [in Russian] that 81 bank branches in the Donetsk region and 66 banks in the Luhansk region have closed their doors and ceased operations, including the branches of major Russian banks, Sberbank and VTB, due to the potential international sanctions that may otherwise follow.

This is the first time in modern history when such a large swathe of territory with a pre-war population of 3.8 million people has been left with no banking services whatsoever. All business and personal accounts were closed and ATMs stopped operating leaving businesses and millions of people without any means of accessing their money.

Few options

In March 2015, the unrecognized Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) declared the launch of its own Republican Bank that started servicing personal and business accounts. The bank has figured out a way to receive payments from Russia using the Russian-based Anelik payment system and the Bankomatika  service. No such bank was created so far in the other secessionist territory, the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR).

Meanwhile, there is no coverage by international or Russian payment systems for these territories due to the threat of US and EU sanctions. In fact, even the Anelik system uses the Russian city of Rostov as the formal destination for payments on the receiving end, whereas the physical money actually goes to Donetsk.

Upon receiving a transfer authorization, Bankomatika will notify the Central Bank of the Donetsk People’s Republic and will request to issue the amount to the given individual, according to a source in the DPR. “Cash is not being transported back and forth across the border. Both sides issue money from their own reserves and mutual settlement is carried out at the end of the month.”

CoinTelegraph spoke with the Head of the Cryptocurrency Foundation Russia (CCFR), Igor Chepkasov on how cryptocurrencies are being used in these runaway regions and whether the Ukrainian or Russian governments are capable of doing anything to stop this.

CoinTelegraph:  With a complete financial blockade by the Ukraine and a partial one from Russia (by banks who are trying to avoid further sanctions), the residents of these republics are essentially left unbanked. Are bitcoins being used in Donetsk and Luhansk for money transfers?

Igor Chepkasov: I must assure you that bitcoin is being used in these eastern territories, which are occupied by pro-Russian armed forces. A certain segment of the people there is systematically carrying out transactions with bitcoin. I received information about the transactions as an insider of one of the exchanges.

CT: How and from where is this done and by whom (private individuals, organizations based in these unrecognized republics, etc.)? What are the volumes?

IC: As you know, to register on a “virtual” exchange and to withdraw cash, you have to present your telephone number, bank or payment system details and personal information – a scanned image of your passport and sometimes even utility bills. It is because of this information that I discovered that there was a massive outflow of funds from this region when Crimea was preparing to “unify” with Russia.

Sometimes fairly large sums of bitcoin were bought in Crimea and later in the eastern occupied territories at exchanges, which were then converted into rubles and transferred to bank cards of one Russian bank that use the popular Russian payment system in order to cash out in Russia or even funnel these funds via a long chain of numerous American, Spanish, Cypriot and offshore accounts.

There were even cases when bitcoins were converted to Euros and dollars and where transferred to offshore accounts of companies based in Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries.

But I wouldn’t say that bitcoin-business is rapidly developing in these occupied territories and in Ukraine as a whole. Regular citizens by and large do not use cryptocurrency and also prefer conventional means or exchange points for money transfers.

In Rostov [a city in Russia], there is a conversion center that also operates based on the Hawala principle, which accumulates significant funds. This center also has its fair share of people who are familiar with cryptocurrency. Moreover, in many Russian cities there are volunteer teams who collect funds to support so-called “militias” including bitcoin, which you can see here. The page contains a bitcoin-wallet, which at the time of my comment holds 6.907452 BTC.

CT: Ukraine attempted to ban Bitcoin transactions in this region via its Central Bank. Is Ukraine capable of doing this and will this be successful?

IC: As far as I understand, Ukraine did not go beyond issuing a warning. However, on March 19, the operating account of BTC TRADE UA (Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange) was suspended in Privatbank based on the suspicions that this exchange was “financing terrorist activity.”

My source in Privatbank told me that they encountered a flood of marked bills from the military action zone of Donetsk and Luhansk. There is evidence to state that BTC TRADE UA was used by miscreants to fund their accounts on the exchange using mobile terminals, after which they would use the service to “wash” these funds and then withdraw “clean” money.

I am not accusing, nor do I suspect the personnel of the exchange in dishonesty and deliberately breaking the law, though they even openly stated that they “did not sufficiently secure client funds.”

CT: What will happen with these monetary flows in Donetsk and Luhansk when Russia will officially ban the use of cryptocurrency in August?

IC: A ban on cryptocurrency in Russia cannot affect the situation in sovereign Ukraine. If some crypto-users in Russia are even saying they will continue to use it secretly if a ban is imposed, then what can we say about Donetsk and Luhansk, who are themselves unrecognized?

Therefore, if anyone in these territories would like to use bitcoin, then they will do so. We have to remember that Donetsk and Luhansk are also outside the legal environment of both the Ukraine and Russia. Thus, no measures from the Ukrainian side or the Russian side will have any affect on the situation there.

Almost every state entity in this world is self-proclaimed, that's why the term "self-proclaimed state" has virtually no sense. Any state is self-proclaimed, because it's formed by the will of the people while achieving a national identity.

On the other hand, such terms as "self-proclaimed government", "self-proclaimed president" or "self-proclaimed " definetely have a sense, This terms are widely used to describe illegitimate bodies.

Precisely.

7 to 12 years of imprisonment for liking Russia. Well, it´s a good thing that they don´t get sent to the great beyond. But perhaps that will come later.

I don´t see this tragicomedy in Ukraine lasting very long. The country is clearly coming apart. There is nothing there for the western mob but huge expenses and chronic headaches.

I know; these western mobsters are as dumb as doorbells and have a very solid record of turning everything they meddle with into horse manure but still I´m always suspicious of the Russians. Maybe they had their hand in helping all this Maidan mess along. They´ve certainly benefited hugely on all fronts. Internationally, politically, even economically. The mob´s sanctions have been a total joke. And the mob is isolated now after driving Russia and China into closer cooperation. China has the money, Russia has the resources. It´s a perfect fit. In due course that small appendage in westernmost Eurasia will join those giants. Good luck, g
