I still think everyone that has made an order has took a huge risk.

It is more safe to wait till March, when the first batch is supposed to be delivered to first customers.

I agree.

I've said that I don't doubt that a small production run of miners from Halong exist.  1 or 10 or however many you want to debate - my issue is why the three month wait?  To me, that means they're selling shit they haven't even produced yet.  Or if they have produced them, they're being burned-in BFL style for the next three months before they're late to ship.  This way, the difficulty level will change, and...oh there's a testnet for burn in?  Nah...

At least with a Bitmain preorder, you have some amount of confidence they'll deliver based on their past performance.  Halong is just another nobody in this niche market.

Okay, new user to bitcointalk, into bitcoin since 2010 (see other contact info for signed message from my original wallet)

I bought 10, two orders 321 and 369

I will admit it was a bit of an impulse buy driven by some peer pressure from my local group of crypto nerds.

I did CPU mining back in 2010, got my coins and then did other stuff.
Got back into BTC in the last 2 years with the mindset that mining wasn't worth it.

Started running numbers in august of last year, decided to do a small POC mine since this stuff scales pretty well.
Ordered 3 S9s beginning of nov, ordered 10 T16s before thanksgiving, 2 more S9s just after TG.

I have 3 S9s up right now, 2 more sitting in my basement ready for when my electric panel gets upgraded in two weeks.

None of these were supposed to show up until the end of the month, hence my lack of preparedness for them at this time.

I really hope this isn't a scam.  Its not like I can't afford to lose the invested BTC (I mean it would suck but its not going to change my life really either way)

My father lives in West Allis about 20 minutes from Brookfield.  After telling him about my endeavors, he wanted to buy in (Hence the two additional S9s ordered after thanksgiving).  I may reach out to him to see if he wants to take a trip to see scotty.

I know my reputation is non-existent on the forum and I was debating even chiming in but felt like getting involved since I have skin in this game now.

would be ideal for a known forum member to go check these out

I was lucky enough to get the flu this week and have to cancel my trip to Wisconsin  Cry

Absolutely.

My buddies were like "NEW MINERS NEW MINERS" MOQ of 5 tho....
I had the BTC accessible to buy, we figured out the per unit cost and they all sent me BTC to cover their portion that I fronted.

I'll end up with 2 (if they exist/ship).

Yes.

it absolutely was an impulse buy and I was getting that sick feeling in my stomach when I started doing deeper research.  How could I have been so dumb.

I was emotional.  I had just jumped through the hoops to buy S9s, here was something "better", and I wanted in.
I will either learn a very valuable lesson, or get very lucky.

Time will tell.

Sandal_Hat,

I have not been given permission to divulge further information about the DragonMint at this time.

If I had it my way, every 4.5 - 5.0 star member of this forum would get their own free miner to review, but I'm strictly a pawn in this game. I don't have that kind of sway at Halong.

Like I've said before... come to Brookfield, Wisconsin, USA (20 minutes West of the city of Milwaukee) and I'll be happy to show you some units currently in action. My phone number is +1-262-844-5773. I have a few demos lined up for the next couple of weeks already. If you're looking to by 1000+ units, I'd be happy to have you in my town, show you the miner and perhaps go out for drinks after and all be happy together.

Scott O.

I apologize for expressing my frustration in an angry manne and demeaning some users. I was frustrated with the terminology thatthe ‘reviewers’ were using to label this product. I think there is a need for them to clean up and standardize their nomenclature so that it’s fair for everyone involved.

- Proven
- Unproven
- Possible Scam
- Absolute Scam

Etc.

Know what I mean?

My gut still leans towards not believing. This whole way of doing things just seems too weird for me. However, best of luck to those that try this. I will try not to post. I dont want to get heat from Scott.
It was not my intention to argue with Scott. I juz state my gut, thats all. Peace Scott and best of luck people.

I got email saying available, but when I viewed web page it wasn't possible to buy even thou it still said available.
WHAT THE?Huh

Use another browser ...

first thing I tried but same.
I tweeted them and they replied 'sold out'.

I'm starting to think I'll win the lottery before I can buy a miner  Angry Undecided
I know they sell out fast but this is beyond crazy.

Yeah. Seems to be sold out.
Well 1000 orders in 12 hours I know. (24 hours it was online ...)
Each order min. 5x ...
They sold 5000 to 10.000 pcs I guess - maybe even more if people are as crazy like me Tongue

just to let everyone know how this went down for me.

I view web site and said 'unavailable' so I clicked 'waitlist'
A few seconds later I received email saying 'back in stock' so I immediately clicked it where it said 'available' but no button to purchase.
I tweeted them and they said 'sold out'.

This all happen in a few seconds.
I'm finding it all a bit hard to believe like they're playing a joke on me.

Anyone else experience this?

Not a joke. A logical mistake. Newsletter is telling the waitlist people (Flag 0/1 I guess) back on stock.
You are new in and get the mailing once.
But almost same time the stock is empty.

Maybe some -not payer- will lead to a minimum quantity again.
Be awake the next hours (like with last sale on L3+) but maybe not.

UPDATE: DragonMint 16T is sold out! ---> the green "avaible" with smile is normal text. They will update it soon to red text with more informations like before.

you left your order number in plain site Huh  you may want to cut it

good luck with the 20 pieces of gear

Well that is a little scary. Just ordered 5 with PSUs. Hope this works out! Over 3,500 orders now.
Don't get offended.. but why all that already take the risk is newbie accounts?
I never saw the proof they really buying it too lol..

1) I am not a newbie, but anyways even if I am - I can be a good programmer, miner, engineer, big investor or whatever Wink
gorder-1600x1200.jpg.html

3) Read my source collection of links and what really was said or done from BtcDrak, Adam Back, Samson Mow and most important Jan Braiins (from Slushpool) who confirmed that he tested the DragonMint 16T and he shot the movie what you all can see.

This is not fakeable. You cannot put more chips in to fake 16TH, then the power comsumption would be up.
Its the 100% proof that its avaible.

Its not the proof that they will produce it, send it or that they will have success.
Even if they are not intend to scam people --- it can happen that they fail.
And maybe its the biggest scam since Crypto Asics are out, but I can remember the first pictures of an ASIC and the first option to order one (with MH/s) for Bitcoin.
It was a shitstorm on scam screamers. Perfect - good for the people who try to believe. Because people who are undecided now will avoid it. More cake for me if its working at the end Tongue

Happened to some GPU rigs once. 350 Wattage PSU and not 1350 Wattage Roll Eyes
