It's the other way around. Banning cryptocurrencies will accelerate the development of the industry and increase the number of crypto enthusiasts. Problems lead to a demand for solutions. At the moment, cryptocurrencies are being absorbed by the fiat world and the number of crypto enthusiasts is steadily falling.

I do not know what solutions you are talking about if the use of cryptocurrencies will face criminal liability. Half of the users will simply get scared of responsibility and stop using cryptocurrencies. In my opinion, the ban will allow only anonymous cryptocurrencies and solutions allowing to mask transactions to develop, which is a rather small part of the cryptocurrency world.

If users are shy and do not want to fight those who are trying to prohibit something for them, then so be it. In my opinion, cryptocurrencies are created for free people. If these people are enslaved, then they first need to regain their freedom, and then engage in the economy. Thinking that you can "be an economically free crypto user" without being politically free is a big mistake.

Am more concerned about the security issues that might arise if you would share your bet publicly, then again they might have been paid by the particular company to share a bet like that. This would be a good advertising for those companies and at the same time it would also make people gain interest in that sector.

There are so many people who are following drake and is gonna follow him after submitting this bet. This have extended the interest of other big news companies as well I am pretty sure the spike is due to everything happening together along with the Canadian banks as well.
As far as I know he wasn't paid by stake to share his bet but during the livestream that is run on the weekend Eddie the owner of Stake did mention about the bet placed by their user account but not by name. Those who are frequent players on the platform know who he is on there due to his (user)name being mentioned on the chat numerous times.
Even if he didn't want it known how much he has wagered on a bet like this, the news media has already made it public from this report put out by bloomberg the financial outlet's cryptocurrency section:

We will see whether Drake's million will give him another million or will vanish into thin air. Either way, he is indeed making Bitcoin a little more popular with this bet. Somebody who is not yet into Bitcoin who is an avid fan of Drake and who has heard of this will probably do some searching about this controversial currency.

New York Post writing about it is even publicity for Bitcoin.

You are right, it is big publicity for bitcoin. The papers and online medias are talking about it. People who did not know about bitcoin and Drake are getting to know them and the make their research on them. Infact, three things are on the map here: bitcoin, Drake and the music industry. That single game brought all to exposure. However I did not know people place alot of cash on bets like he did. That was a big risk he took. He was lucky it went well.

That means he can afford to lose those amount of money on what he likes, also in some other thoughts this could give him additional exposure since he will be the talk in town for what action he did plus he can influence other people who doesn't know about it that its possible to bet by using bitcoin without touching their fiats on the bank. And since this is all over the news now for sure bitcoin are getting much attention on what action he do.

It's been a big trend on social media since the Canadian shared his bet slips containing how much he staked on the super bowl in bitcoin. And how much he will receive in bitcoin if the Rams defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Los Angeles, which is about $2.29 million in bitcoin. The betting industry has a great acceptance of bitcoin. He made other stakes using bitcoin as well. But, what matters is how more celebrities with big fan Bases promote bitcoin. It's such a better way of increasing the usage of bitcoin in Betting Firms.

Huge amount of bet once again from Drake. It's actually no news that Drake bet millions worth of dollar in btc because he's been doing the exact same thing during the past years. I can say he is a risky gambler and isn't really afraid of betting big amounts because he can afford to lose it. After all, he can always easily earn back the amount he will lose if ever things don't go on his favor. He is a type of gambler that I think believes on the "high risk, high rewards" which maybe the reason why he bet so much. This step of him is a good opportunity for bitcoin and crypto in general to be known by his followers. Drake has a nice reach and he has so many followers on his social media accounts. Hence, his move of making his bet public could spark an interest among his followers which is a win for our community.

Nice, I always enjoy seeing high roller betting slips. So this what celebrities betting looks like compared to my 30 USD betting slips. Seeing that doesn't make me feel poor at all  Cheesy Even if I don't like his music so much, he is very successful and can do what he wants with his money. I wonder how many Drake fans are now going to start betting with bitcoins. That he does his betting with cryptos is a good thing, free promotion for bitcoins. It's also another sign that most online betting is done with crypto currencies these days. I wish I could reach such profits one day.

No Drake did not use Bitcoin to place that $1.3 million bet, he used Canadian dollar instead. Check out the bet slip and i am surprised that no one is even checking the bet slip before making the comment about Drake using Bitcoin to place a million dollar bet.

Yes, he can deposit his fiat directly but you also have to understand that in Stake, you can change the value of your Crypto shown as Fiat for easy betting. We can't say he directly used Canadian $ here. If he's a crypto enthusiast, he can have more winnings if he places a bet in Bitcoin due to that large amount he deposited.

But it's not a big deal. Drake still used a service of a crypto-gambling platform.
Canadian dollar or Bitcoin/Crypto it doesnt matter because he is fully aware that he could really switch up from fiat to crypto but what matter most here is the consideration that
Drake had done which do really make out some good exposure in overall market about crypto existence or this site exist.
He had been betting something like this or kind of behavior either on crypto platforms or fiat ones.

You are right there, mate. Why did it become a special concern that Drake used instead a Canadian Dollar? Is that even an issue? The fact that he uses a crypto-gambling site means Bitcoin will be associated in a form of advertisement. As a bonus, since Stake was used, more people will be aware of that site.

Clears, it's a marketing but should not be a problem to anyone.
Come to think thats how business works. The only ones who would succeed or place theirselves on top are the ones who are really that clever or wise on making out marketing decisions plus its a win-win situation

considering that this do really expose of cryptocurrencies existence which the thing that matter most for us people here on this crypto community.Doesnt matter on which
one he uses but still he do dealt of one of the most famous crypto casinos existing today.

This story is hard to believe despite the rapper in the subject have the money to wager such a huge amount of money but I will only believe the story if Drake comes out and make the announcement by himself because this could be a promotion. No hard feelings but just saying my thought.
However, if this story is true then it means Drake was a long term investor of Bitcoin
Drake had been in crypto news for years , and i believe either he admit it or not? still he is a Crypto supporter as he also gambled in crypto gambling site in which proves his being active in crypto related activities.
so  no matter what he decided to use as currency it does not matter at all and besides this is crypto gambling site then why make this an issue at all from others.

Its a bitcoin bet because all bets there are crypto, the display of any currency otherwise is for convenience.   You could bet in ETH instead and show it as fiat currency equivalent but basically its all crypto based.    The bigger deal is did he keep all his winnings in his wallet or cash out, somehow I dont think he needs the money and is plenty liquid so I think he just about doubled his holding just when BTC is with a good prospect of doing well in 12 to 18 months.

Is this is paid publicity? I'm just curious, but regardless, I still like the fact that a celebrity is not afraid of risking huge money using a crypto sportsbook. Stake is already popular in the crypto space, but with this publicity, for sure they will be more popular, and it will not end there as the whole crypto gambling world will benefit from this kind of publicity.

I am also interested in this and especially wonder how much such PR costs. But most likely the details (if this is PR and not a regular bet) we will not know soon. I think that like all major bookmakers, Stake has a VIP program to attract celebrities and there are many different bonuses for such actions as "show your bet on social networks". Therefore, most likely this is a real bet, but he received some bonuses for his activity.

That doesn't matter but as far as my own observation is concerned, it's a legit bet, and no such thing as paid publicity or partnership to promote the Stake platform. The Stake platform is now being more popular.
Don't tell BS just because you are promoting them in your signature and your avatar bro, you won't get any bonus from them for that believe me, they reserve them for their "friends" if you haven't noticed it yet. You should better read the link posted by Hamphser above, then you will understand that's an obvious PR marketing operation https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/new-viral-video-confirms-drake-enjoys-playing-online-roulette/

Can't believe you really make me think that I'm eyeing for bonus lol.

I'm not like you, bro. I'm totally not concerned about that as long as everything is settled smoothly weekly. I'm surprised that there's someone who took concern on that politics you are referring which is not a big deal to me. I don't even think of it honestly until you have mentioned it since I don't really care.

It should belong in the Reputation section lol. Peace. Let's not bring that topic here.

So anyone followed the bet, did he win or loose the million dollar.

He win big in the Superbowl he made a grand total of
grand total of $1.4 million in winnings.

Here is the computation of his bet and winnings

Quote
For wagerring $1.26 million between three wagers for the Rams to win over the Cincinnati Bengals ($472,364 with a payout of $713,244), Odell Beckham Jr. to score at least one touchdown ($393,636 with a payout of $846,288), and for the famed wide receiver to tally more than 62.5 yards during the his playing time (another $393,636 with a payout of $712,457).

Drake Made More Than $1 Million Betting on the Super Bowl

He is lucky this time I'm sure this is not the last time that he's going to bet in the Superbowl not only Superbowl but all the other sporting events.

Drake Wagered $1.3 million in super bowl bet using bitcoin
When Bitcoin is legal to use, gambling is also allowed, and gambling activities using Bitcoin have become commonplace, then isn't this familiar?
Yes, indeed, surely Bitcoin will become increasingly popular and have an even greater benefit value, especially in the gambling world.
The question is are they used to wagering such a large amount of money?
If this number is already used to them and it's common, then it is no longer surprising. We know how professional gamblers who play at a high level even spend a lot of money on one bet. Sometimes I myself feel surprised by the nominal.
But on the other hand, the positive side can be taken with the increasing use of Bitcoin, it will increase the value of Bitcoin itself

However, if this story is true then it means Drake was a long term investor of Bitcoin

There's no prior announcement on Drake about him being an investor of Bitcoin, it's just now that he posted on his Instagram that he bets a huge amount of Bitcoin, there's a possibility that he is not the only one and that many celebrities are already betting and holding Cryptocurrency without announcing that they are investing.
Yes, there's no announcement about him being an investor of Bitcoin but he advertised an NFT project is a sign that he's somehow into cryptocurrency but I couldn't see Drake making any post on his Instagram about making the huge bet in the super bowl game.

However, if this story is true then it means Drake was a long term investor of Bitcoin
First news about Drake winning a bet of $ 1.3 million, I am a little doubtful
I also doubt the genuine of this information and I can only accept it to be true if Drake makes a statement about it.

Wagering $1.3 million Dollars in the super bowl using bitcoin might be a very good thing for American adoption only though, seeing as other countries don't really know nor care for the superbowl. I have yet to hear a single European being exciting for any superbowl.

US is a superbowl craze and other countries can't match that, lucky stake.com get great promotion from drake. Both parties benefit from this incident.

I don't personally think that it will be a boost to the popularity of Bitcoin because that Drake doing is something not unusual. Not just him but it's not the first time that someone popular places a bet for Bitcoin in the Super Bowl event although I don't have any reference to support that claim.

Bitcoin is also widely used now on gambling and some gambling platform are already popular with this such as Stake, Sportsbet.io, and unfortunately, even the worst 1xBit.

But on the good side, a PR like that is interesting for me since they are promoting a crypto-gambling website, not just a fiat website.

I agree, the effect on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be minimal, however the effect when it comes to gambling with cryptocurrencies could be important, after all I still remember the days in which I gambled with fiat and it was a pain that every single casino wanted your information and you had no way to avoid it, casinos that use cryptocurrencies are a lot more lenient when it comes to this and will only force people to go through KYC under very specific circumstances, which means that if you are just a normal player then you have nothing to worry about.

News of Drake's victory spread everywhere and it could make many people look and want to find out the truth.
And people will see Stake as one of the popular sites using crypto and Drake betting on that site.
That will make many people visit Stake.com and try to bet there.
It can be a great means of promotion for Stake because they can get a chance to get more members who will gamble on their site.
Haven't seen it in the social media sites that I use but I only see the news inside the forum. It is not a widespread or this news was still early and it can take a couple of time before people talk about this and that's the time it will spread like a wildfire. If they are a curious type of person they will search for every detail of the news for them to know if it is true or not but they should be careful on some sites that doesn't tell the truth about stake casino.

There are fake review sites that tells stake is not a good casino to gamble on. If ever they will gamble and it was their first time they should be careful too because gambling is an addictive thing.
