Hi,
I was wondering why DVC value is going down so much, now very close to DOGE.

No telling why..

You could have a penny stock company worth $50,000,000 with only 2.5 million shares outstanding lose half its value in a matter of days, for no reason other than pure speculation.

This is a cryptocurrency and is only backed by the good graces of the people that hold the currency, not a company with hard assets. If people think it is worth more than the current price, it will go back up. If people think it is worth less than the current price, it will continue to go down.

The main thing to remember is, the market is always right, even if people think it is wrong.

There is nothing to prevent Devcoin from being in the $0.01 to $0.05 range in the future as long as the Devcoin economy grows...

Worrying about the daily up and down prices will only give you an ulcer. Smiley

As a side note Dogecoin has a trading volume that microcap companies dream of. I just checked on Crypsy and the Volume for DOGE/BTC is 571 BTC  (roughly $450,000) and DODE/LTC is 1833 LTC (roughly $40,000)... Egads Man!!!!

Pretty much this.

Dogecoin has some pretty good marketing for what it is. I'm seeing it mentioned in reddit a lot.

So you guys think if we could all get devcoin more popular and have it mentioned on more social sites that the value will rise?

I absolutely agree. There should be a section dedicated to what the blockchain is and how it works along with a simple interface for people to enter their wallet address or transaction #.

The Devcoin.org website is really starting to come together but it really should be a one stop shop for all things Devcoin...

If a Blockchain was added along with a page for the media (and a Devcoin point-of-contact) and possibly a future blog.. People could know what Devcoin is and what it is about, all on one website.

It might be interesting to have a page that lists every time Devcoin has been mentioned in the media as well.

~2 cents~

It stops completely,  Downloaded wallet from Devcoin official site for my Window XP pro w/sp3. HP Pavillion Celeron (R) 1.7 GHz.
Noob here... please help...  Huh
I hate to bother everyone, I have a simple question and I am lost. I went and downloaded Devcoin wallet and it stopped downloading at 29669 blocks, I have looked and looked and I am getting more lost, can someone please direct me to a solution, thank you very, very much in advance.

-Branzig

Does it always stop at the same block each time you start it?

Or does each restart get you a little farther?

Also, you didn't indicate what wallet you downloaded, from where, for what operating-system and hardware...

-MarkM-

Try deleting your application folder in application data save your wallet.dat if you have coins in there. Try again from block 1.

Devtome - issue raised on photographs. Any photos incorporated into articles have to be your own, or licenced under creative commons or similar. There are plenty of sites with repositories of usable images. Most other photos (like Getty images) will be subject to copyright so can't be simply uploaded to a file hosting site and embedded into devtome.

I wrote an article on my blog dealing with using free images etc.

http://www.moneyandpotatoes.com/webmaster-links-free-stock-images-useful-tools-and-much-more/

Basically, Compfight has one of the most extensive searches of images out there but requires attribution.

If you use images from Pixabay, they don't require attribution but nobody will know you got the image from Pixabay unless you put it at the bottom of any article where you use the images.

Excellent resources!  Thanks for sharing.

Is there a way to get devtome earnings in a web wallet?  If not, could I propose a bounty for a web wallet which can pay generation?

Thanks

yes
sidhujag, please check the wallet.apk file. I cannot get it installed on my phone. The phone tells me whether I want to install it as an update rather than a fresh install, and after clicking install, it returns with the message that it has not been installed.

Can you try 1.0.1?

Installed. Will start to play with it in the weekend when I have time to go through an extensive test plan with 2 phones.

The round 31 receiver files have been uploaded to:
http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/receiver_31.csv
http://devcoinpool.btc-music.com/receiver/receiver_31.csv
http://devcoinblockexplorer.info/receiver/receiver_31.csv
http://devtome.com/files/receiver_31.csv
http://devcoin.darkgamex.ch/receiver_31.csv
http://d.evco.in/receiver/receiver_31.csv
http://show-me-the-devcoin.info/devtome/receiver_31.csv
http://coinfaucets.tk/receiver_31.csv
http://creativecurrencies.cu.cc/wp-content/uploads/receiver_31.csv

The account file is at:
http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/account_31.csv

There were 1243 original receiver lines, so the average number of devcoins per share is 180,000,000 dvc / 1243 = 144,811 dvc. Administrator pay is 166.0 shares, 13.4 percent of the total. The value at vircurex is 0.5 mcbtc/dvc, which works out to 0.0724 btc. This times the bitstamp price of 844$ gives a share price of 61$.

People on that list will start getting those coins in round 31, starting at block 124,000. The procedure for generating the receiver files is at:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin#generating_the_files

The next bounties will go into round 32:

i thought this was an interesting article... http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_future_value
one point i would make about the proliferation of altcoins (or currently an explosion) is, that eventually the "vaporcoins", "becauseicandoitcoins" , and "scamcoins" will go away, because they really don't have anybody using them for much more than scoring a few quick bitcoins or dollars and disappearing. the Cryptos left standing will probably be much better off, because they have communities behind them, and so will be seen (even by the mainstream financial community) to be more stable, and therefore worth more. just my 0.02DVC.....

At least we know they are pretty much here to stay.

I think that we will see the day when people can mine, hoard, steal and sell alt-coins while playing some massive online video game. It might not really be around now but, you know that someone is thinking about starting one.
