That's pretty cool.

Its a scam. Passphrase to lock wallet is irrelevant, he has private key to the address so can take any coins sent there. Your wallet's copy of the private key being locked does not lock his wallet against him using his copy of the private key to access the coins.

You have the private key.

It does not matter whether he encrypts his copy of the private key, you can use your private key in your wallet to access all the coins.

Don't you know anything about bitcoin, blockchains, etc?

A million people could all have copies locked in safes, locked in wallets, it is irrelevant. Any copy, such as your own copy, can access all the coins.

I thought it was a great idea. unthinkingbit or someone else had a git on importing the BTC addy into the DVC client. I was successful once, but it was kind of confusing to me.

I can run user names too, but the longer they are, the greater mining time it takes to find the key pair. I get 1.2 m/key/s, so it's pretty decent. I have "mcxFEE" and "MtGox" and a few others just sitting here.

Got a pool online. dvc.crypto-expert.com im currently mining on it

GetWork Only. 0 fees until i patch the devcoin daemon to support GBT as i cant find one out there. The fee will be 1% after my 1 week promotional period(1 week after i have stratum running on the pool) . id like to claim the bounty for it if possible.

EDIT: once i get stratum and a good enough hashrate would you guys be interested in PPS?

I made the facebook event for Devtome, have not added any links to the actual site yet, so that it doesn't seem like spam. For now it is just a creative writing event

Eventually it will be a creative writing event, with tons of links to Devtome pages, as well as offers for people to get paid for creative writing on Devtome.
