Both teams came to the match with their own squads, but Liverpool lost 1-0. I don't know if the players had a concentration problem, but I was surprised that the in-form Tottenham Team beat a team like Liverpool. It misled not only me, but also many people who bet on this match. Even teams that are doing very well in the league and are in form experience such things in cup matches for some reason. Just as Asenal misled many football fans and bettors yesterday, Liverpool made us feel the same way today.

There is still no goal in the Tottenham - Liverpool match. Bentancur collapsed really badly while trying to clear the ball and we don't know if he is okay now. When it comes to the match quality so far I can't say it has been very enjoyable. Sad I was expecting a match with many goals after watching their last head-to-head in the Premier League but it is still 0-0. I think even a draw would be enough for Liverpool to advance to the final.

Arne Slot is really hungry for trophies with Liverpool this season. They are the strongest candidate for the EFL Cup trophy as well.
Liverpool had some good chances but couldn't break the deadlock and Tottenham defense is quite strong. I didn't enjoy the match that much and I hope that the second half will be more interesting with goals.

I feel that Tottenham will not be able to win Liverpool but they can settle for a draw because I don't expect to lose this match. It will be funny to see Tottenham win this match just like what happened yesterday between Arsenal and Newcastle. However, Liverpool is more consistent.
Liverpool is at the verge of crashing out of the EFL cup. Solanke had a beautiful goal and it was discounted for off side and it didn't take long that Solanke assisted Bergvall to reclaim the goal.
Liverpool is practically struggling to equalize the match while time is ticking so so fast. I saw the time at 85mins and within 1 min, it is now 90mins Grin
Meanwhile Bergvall was supposed to have been booked for a second yellow card for one clumsy challenge he had against a Liverpool player two minutes ago before he scored that goal, the Liverpool assistance coach had to raise an eyebrow on that incident while telling the match assistant referee outside concerning the wrong decision the center referee took and how it has turn around to affect Liverpool, the center referee saw that action by the assistant coach and show him a yellow card immediately.

The truth is that, Liverpool had a hard luck to score, ordinarily they played fantastically well, i believe they even had more ball possession more than Tottenham, but they weren't just lucky to have a goal. Maybe when Liverpool play them in the second leg at Anfield, the result might be a bit different from today's own.

Definitely, if Arsenal should repeat the performance of yesterday in the second leg without scoring a goal at least first to mount pressure on Newcastle in order for them to come out and play because i know they would like to their lead by all means possible. But if Newcastle should catch Arsenal on the break, boom, its gonna be a mountain for Arsenal to climb if the score turns to 3-0. Arsenal needs to play at their 200% best if they want to turn the tie around on their favour.

Arsenal will continue to have problems like these till they fix the issue they have. They don't have a a balanced team, but somehow they think they do. The amount of good players you have in your team doesn't matter if every position in the team is not balanced.
For reasons only known to Arteta, he's only focused on strengthening his defence. His midfield and attack is not balanced. The left side of the attack doesn't function well and the right is dead without Saka, but he doesn't care about that.
Theres no creativity in the midfield aside from Odergaard but Arteta isn't bordered about that.
I understand that defence is good, but no matter how good the defence is, they can win you trophies if your midfield cant keep balls and your attack isn't lethal.
They don't have a prolific goals scorer and now there interested in Araujo of Barcelona, Another central defender. I don't see the plan here. Getting quality defenders is good, but defence isn't the only part of the field that needs reinforcing.

Unlike Arsenal’s match yesterday, this match has been an interesting from the first half so far, I was also expecting more goals from Liverpool, but they couldn’t get a single goal, and they both have just one attempt on target which shows that both of them are been careful of not to concede goal first. I know that there will be goals in the second half, but let’s not be surprised if Tottenham end up defeating Liverpool.

Yea, he is indeed hungry for trophy, he stated the season really well, and he is leading the Premier League table as it stand, if he win today, he will definitely win the EFL cup because I think defeating Newcastle United will be easier for them.

Advantage Newcastle, it ended 0-2 in favour of the visitors. Arsenal played well but couldn't create chances for themselves to score, this match proves once again that you can play good and still lose when you don't create chances and make good use of them. Newcastle are one foot into the Carabao finals as we await the second leg in a week or two weeks time.

It was a very disappointing result for the Gunners, who failed to take advantage of their scoring opportunities. Arsenal controlled the match in terms of ball possession and total shots, yet they failed to score a single goal. If it hadn't been a home loss, we might have suggested Newcastle took advantage of playing at home to win the game, but Arsenal couldn't stop disappointing their supporters this season, conceding two goals while scoring none. Isak is insane; he made many chances that resulted in Newcastle's victory, which is what the team needs from number nine. I hope Arsenal can make a comeback in the second leg, since Newcastle ahead by two goals.

However, this is the same team that defeated Manchester United in the Premier League last week, and many people were claiming that Manchester United was weak because they failed to draw at home. The same team that is competing for the league title, Arsenal, couldn't defeat Newcastle in the Carabao yesterday, so I'm sure Newcastle can defeat Arsenal if they play each other in the Premier League. Since Saka is absent, I honestly don't think Arsenal is a strong team without him.
Definitely, if Arsenal should repeat the performance of yesterday in the second leg without scoring a goal at least first to mount pressure on Newcastle in order for them to come out and play because i know they would like to their lead by all means possible. Tottenham Hotspur - Liverpool

This is a game that I'm thinking about betting on and watching. I haven't bet yet because I want to see if the Liverpool coach will put all his best players to play, because I saw on a website that has had good analysis and news saying that it could be possible that for this game the Liverpool coach wouldn't put all his best players, such as not putting Salah and Virgil van Dijk, and by doing so it would open up space for Tottenham to have a good chance of winning the game. I hope the Liverpool coach puts all his best players in this game.
The line-up has been displayed, it seems that Liverpool almost lowered their main squad, where there are Salah and van Dijk as starters and several other names, while for TAA and Robertson on reserve may be entered at mid-time.
I think if the line-up is like sure Liverpool will win they don't want to lose points in leg 1.
I think it would be a gamble to bet on Liverpool with the current squad.
The squad that Arne Slot presented to Tottenham is fair enough for Tottenham to match. Although he carefully selected his line up, not to be too weak. The Defence still has Van dijk and Tsimikas. The midfield is the regular guys, MacAllister and Gravenberch. Then there's Gakpo, Jota and Salah at the top. So, it's pretty a solid team.

In the other hand, Tottenham came with their strength, having also lined up Kulusevski, Solanke and Son at the top. It's 35mins and still goalless. Let's see what the match has for us.

I got wrong about Arsenal very much.  Tongue  I don't know how they managed to finish that game without scoring a single goal but it really happened. They tried so hard to score otherwise.

Anyway Newcastle cracked open the doors of the final round already. Unless we see them messing up big time in the rematch, they should be good to go. Tonight we are going to watch another lovely game.  Roll Eyes  You remember the last duel between Tottenham and Liverpool, right? We watched 9 goals while Liverpool were winning by 6-3. Most of their recent games ended with many goals also. For betting purposes, I believe Liverpool will win and we will watch at least 3 goals. This has 1.94 odds which is pretty nice for even a single bet.
You were not the only one that got it wrong between Arsenal and the Newcastle. I have thought that there is no way Arsenal will play that match from beginning to the end without scoring a goal even when they have Gabriel Jesus who is their striker that is currently inform. As I was planning and speculating not knowing that Arsenal coach has another plan to play Jesus from the bench. Although if he started Jesus there would still be chances that Arsenal would not win but at least they could have scored a goal.

But for Liverpool and Tottenham, I am not sure that what happened yesterday will repeat today. Liverpool is in a good form and they would have to win this night perhaps if they come with their full squad

Many Arsenal attacks were thwarted by Newcastle players in the match even though Arsenal were able to control the ball well, but every shot fired by Arsenal players did not produce any results in the match. Meanwhile, Newcastle players were able to make quite dangerous counter-attacks especially through Alexander Isak and also through Anthony Gordon in the second half so that it made Arsenal players frustrated and unable to respond until the end of the match.

Of course, Arsenal's team had an incredible result, because Arsenal was very strong this season, but I never imagined that they would lose to Newcastle. Many bettors lost in this match because Newcastle did not perform well from the beginning, but they were able to score two goals. Arsenal made a total of 23 attacks in this match, but none of them resulted in a good result, which is the biggest failure for Arsenal, but Newcastle only made 7 attacks and succeeded in two attacks. However, Arsenal fans will never forgive them in this match, because most of the bettors believed in Arsenal in this match.

Even from their last EFL game against Crystal Palace, i started seeing the signs that they may not go further in the EFL cup despite that they put in so much efforts, but it wasn't enough though. When Newcastle scored first in that game yesterday i just said it was over for Arsenal because even though Arsenal was putting pressure on Newcastle but it didn't make any difference instead Newcastle was scoring while Arsenal was taking the ball possession. Arsenal had 11 corner kicks, 3 shots on targets and about 70% in goal possession but yet they couldn't even score a single goal against Newcastle. Arsenal is a team that when everyone puts trust in them to win a match easily that is when they fail woefully and a lot of gamblers who staked on Arsenal to win Newcastle has lost their bets.

Arsenal is a strong team, but Arteta is not learning from his previous mistakes that he made. I knew the match was going to be a difficult one for Arsenal because Newcastle is a dangerous team that no club should underestimate. Since Saka went on injury, I have been very careful when placing my bet because Arsenal's performance has dropped, and I have seen how they struggle before they could get a win in their matches.

I was expecting a draw in the match, I never expected Arsenal to lose the match. Arsenal played well in the match, but they couldn’t just score in the match, Newcastle's defense was just so strong in the match, and Arsenal couldn’t break their defense, and Newcastle utilized the chances that they had in the match.

Arsenal is finding it difficult to score in most of their matches, saka's absence is really going to affect Arsenal's performance. I just hope Arteta will be able to sign a player that can replace Saka, arsenal's performance is always dropping whenever Saka is injured or whenever his performance drops.

~snip~
Although Newcastle United is a good team, Arsenal is in a much better position right now. Although Bukayo Saka's absence affected them a lot, they still continued to perform. I don't think they are playing badly at all despite their missing players. I believe they can be successful in the Newcastle matches and advance to the next round. I think Liverpool will be the winner of the EFL. Of course, there is no guarantee in the finals, both teams have a chance to win in the final. In my opinion, Liverpool will be one of the finalists and will win the match. Because stopping Liverpool is a big problem at this time.
Arsenal this season has lost to Newcastle in the EPL so I think the match will be a revenge for them, but even so, it will be difficult for Arsenal to conquer Newcastle given their impressive performance so far is very impressive without defeat in the last 6 EPL matches, while Arsenal, are not in a stable condition in my opinion after losing Saka and we can see their poor performance against Brighton in their last match, to be honest, I see that the match will be very difficult to predict because both teams have had very good player quality so far, but if I must to choose, I personally see that a draw will be the end of the normal time match.
While for the Liverpool vs Tottenham match, of course Liverpool will be my choice to win the match.
Newcastle is currently winning Arsenal 1-0 half time, the thing with Newcastle is that they are very impressive when it comes to scoring goal up front, at the slightest mistake they can take you unaware and score you 2 to 3 goals before you realize it, if you look at the game very well, Arsenal have been very impressive with their attack but yet Newcastle have been able to make use of that slightest opportunity they have, don't be surprised that there is high likelihood that Newcastle might score more goals or the game might end in a tie this second half.
As I said above, if that the match will be a difficult match for arsenal and it was proven by them losing again from newcastle although I previously thought the match would be a draw, effectiveness from of the newcastle attack line has made the arsenal defence helpless, besides that I think isak now seems to have transformed into a nightmare for arsenal every time they face newcastle Grin.

Newcastle showed a very solid performance in the match, they were able to take advantage of opportunities very well and score two go, although arsenal managed to dominate possession, but like the previous match, their attacking effectiveness in finishing is still a bad problem, so I think arteta must fix it immediately now if he still wants to be a title contender in the domestic league.

To be 2-0 down in the first leg at home certainly hurts, but I think arsenal still have a chance to fix that and make a comeback in the second leg later.

Arsenal keeps making people believe that they can't do better if there are a few absent players in their team. When it comes to beating Newcastle, I won't say that Arsenal are consistent and when you look at how they played yesterday, it was as if in front of goal, they were afraid. Imagine making runs and getting to the 18 yard box, you waste it. The Gunners would need to improve in so many areas if they want to be carrying trophies cause it's not this kind of behavior that wins titles.

I'm still wondering why none of Arsenal's performance yesterday yielded a result. There's no way they would have gotten such defeated if they were more result-oriented yesterday. I feel like they didn't have the mindset of winning yesterday's game. Arsenal got more goal possession, about 70 over 30 possession difference. Arsenal also got more pass accuracies and shots than Newcastle but I wonder why none of these made a single goal for them. Could it be that Arsenal is not taking the Carabao cup as seriously or have they developed phobia against the Newcastle team because even their last game was won by Newcastle yet.

Congratulations on your win on the bet, it was a big win because the bookies gave high odds for Newcastle, unfortunately I didn't do that, I avoided high risk and only placed a BTTS bet, but I lost. Sad
In the second leg, Arsenal will certainly appear all out, Arteta must at least present one trophy this season and the EFL is a realistic target but currently they are 2-0 behind on aggregate with the current Gunners attack line making me a little doubtful that at Newcastle home later they can score 2 or more, apart from Arsenal less sharp attack factor, Newcastle defense factor is also the reason I doubt it.
It looks like Newcastle will advance to the final round.
It is not possible to say which team will qualify for the final round. On the one hand, Newcastle, who are in great form, defeated Arsenal 2-0 in the first leg. On the other hand, experienced Arsenal, who have been in great form recently but lost the first leg. It is going to be a very difficult match for both teams to reach the final round in the second leg. Personally, I would like to bet on Arsenal. Because, although Arsenal lost the match 2-0 in the first match, they dominated the match. They will definitely come out on the field with a new plan after correcting their mistakes. To reach the final round, Arsenal will have to score more than 2 goals or qualify for the final through penalties after scoring 2 goals. Although it is difficult, I see the possibility of Arsenal winning and Arsenal will reach the final anyway.

No one expected Arsenal to lost 0 - 2 to Newcastle at home and this defeat could be bad start because in the second leg Arsenal will have to play away and at least have to win by more than 3 goal to be able to enter the final absolutely.
70% of most football fans expect Arsenal to win, but 30% of most bettors already have the idea that Newcastle can win. Even I bet on Newcastle without hesitation. And I have also said here that Newcastle can hold or even beat Arsenal. Newcastle's performance cannot be underestimated. Regarding Arsenal who must qualify for the final round, I have an assumption that if Arsenal will qualify for the final round, in the second leg Arsenal will be able to score 3 or 4 goals. Or if not, Arsenal is only able to score 2 goals without conceding and Arsenal will qualify from the penalty round.

For the Arsenal fans, i saw this today;

21 Years without a title
33 Years without a Carabao Cup
0 UCL
0 Super Cup
0 Club World Cup
Never defended any prem title.

This is a very bad record for a club who has a humble and passionate fans. Is the club really ready to win any title because i don't think so. Newcastle beat them on their home yesterday and knowing full well that they are in the lesser side to win the EPL. It was a moment for them to win at least the Carabao cup after so many years.

The management is poor and it is obvious now.

21 years without a title is not quite correct unless you are only referring to the Premier League title. But under Arsene Wenger they won the FA Cup in 2014, 2015 and 2017 and while it is not the most important title in the world, they also won the FA Community Shield in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

Still it is a shame that they didn't win the EPL trophy for so long and they are still a big name in the league. But competition has risen significantly in the last 10-15 years with Manchester City and then Liverpool reinventing themselves.

At least they haven't had any bad times like Manchester United does. They have usually been somewhere in the top 6 to top 4.

But this year with the 0-2 home loss I think it is over for them and the second leg in February won't change much about it.
