Right now Ajax is winning, lets see how much they can hold this win, seems like Ajax not only want to win the derby by the derby itself but also to took off the record of no loses in hands of PSV, also surely the record of most points in a season can be in play, so much playing in this derby.

Ajax - PSV is starting soon. Looks that odds for PSV dropped recently, now it's 1.95. So probably there was lot of ads made on their win. Despite few recent not so good results like draw in league in loss against Feyenoord in cup, PSV is still favorites.
Usually we see plenty of goals when these teams face each other, and odds for BTTS and over 2.5 goals is so low that not even worth to combine it. Other option  is going with bigger number of goals or totals of each team separately.

It is not that this game matters for the Eredivisie championship, but it is still a great game in the league. Too bad that Ajax Amsterdam struggled so much that this game has no meaning for the determination of the title winner. But for Ajax Amsterdam a win could be of great importance in the competition for the 2nd rank. I think not all hope is lost yet to still make it into the Champions League, but no doubt that this is a tough mission to complete. If they lose this game and Feyenoord wins their game against Alkmaar, I think the last chance to qualify for the Champions League would be gone.

But I don't think Ajax will be able to win that game. I am not underestimating Ajax but currently there is not a single team that can beat PSV in the league this season. I think if Ajax can perform at their best then at least they can get a draw. Ajax is certainly motivated to become the first team to beat PSV in the league but it seems like an impossible mission.

I don't think Feyenoord is thinking about reducing the points gap with PSV. Because after all I think catching up to a 12 point difference will be very difficult. I think Feyenoord is aiming for victory because they want to strengthen their position in second place in the standings.
Ajax have not been at their best performances but they've definitely been winning games and have been consistent to it. Definitely a coach has his own impact in a team, once the head is faulty, there'll always be loopholes. It means a lot for a team to get victorious consecutively in a row and for Ajax, that's caused a gradual improvement regardless not doubting that they still have to put in more work. They've got players no doubt but the squad needs to be better, Ajax is a team better than a narrow win, at the moment though, finding the right player who's top and ready in all areas to give that competitive capacity in both the domestic league and the European leagues will be hard.

Their inconsistency is unhealthy and they just have to find a way to stop the wins from occuring through a narrow means. One would anticipate their forthcoming game against top contenders PSV and it'll definitely be an intense game. But since Ajax will be the host, it's expected that they're able to have a good performance rating.

Yes, as you said, even though they have achieved a draw, PSV will not be replaced by any team this season. By getting 18 wins, they have collected 55 points, 12 points ahead of Feyenoord in second place.
There are still several rounds to play, if Ajax continue like this, third place is definitely achievable, but to catch Feyenoord they would have to show an extraordinary performance, and Feyenoord are not to be underestimated and will also score their points.

I agree with what you said. The most realistic result that Ajax can get if they can continue to maintain their performance is third place replacing Twente. Even though it's currently 4 points apart, I don't think it's mission impossible. If they want to catch Feyenoord they not only have to perform well, but they also hope that Feyenoord will perform poorly in the next few matches and I think Feyenoord is performing quite well this season.

That's right. The two matches you mentioned were very intense because all four teams both needed important points in this match.

The Ajax vs PSV match is certainly an interesting match, Ajax as the host certainly has greater motivation in this match apart from wanting to reduce the point difference with AZ, they also have greater motivation to want to end PSV's unbeaten trend in the Eredivisie. Of course, this is tough for Ajax, but if you look at Ajax's current development after recovering from adversity, they could beat PSV, especially in Ajax's last three matches in a positive trend.

I am not agreed with you about this with Ajax is not thinking about the win of this match even their performance against PSV is not good in last few matches with their current performance is surely one of the best which can give them good chance for the reducing points from their top opponents because in last two away matches we have PSV with one lost against Feyenoord and other one draw in Eredivisie against Utrecht so if Ajax give their best from current performance then surely they can steal the show against leaders.

If we have wins for the Ajax and Feyenoord then surely things could be more interesting in coming weeks because others will be faced more pressure and Ajax can take good advantage of this all for their chances to jump at the third spot which is currently looking tough.

Alkmaar  just got to find a balance and get back to their pace. Their league isn't even as competitive as other European leagues as there are just a few teams that are tough in their play. They can still meet up with points and stay at a good spot on the table too. Congrats to Ajax and PSV, they're good and are growing better gradually regardless of the little loopholes that they're having too. The second half of the season is very much essential in the league as it's believed that the various team managers will make new and better strategies to increase team's performance too.
The current situation in the Eredivise is very competitive. I think first place will still belong to PSV and Feyenoord because they have collected more than 40 points. Twente, Alkmaar and Ajax will compete for a place in the European league. I don't think they will be able to take a place in the Champions League from Feyenoord this season. It will be interesting to see who will get the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions in the league at the end of the season.
Top two teams are going for the Champions League group stage and third team is going for the qualification with for me if we have Ajax at the third spot then most chances they can also go for the Champions League because they have enough experience and quality for going into this, but I am not sure if we have any other team from these two which are not good enough for going into this.

Fourth spotted team will be fight for the UEFA Europa League qualification, and then we have rest for the Conference league which is surely ok for the teams which are below from these top three teams into Eredivisie but right now we have to wait for the team which is going to stay at the third spot.

There is an Ajax - PSV match this Saturday which could be lovely to watch.  Smiley

What do you think? Can Ajax really stop this scary PSV?

This match is very inconvenient for Ajax, the chances of them taking the points they desperately need against PSV are very slim. A draw would surprise me and would be a point gained for Ajax.

But Feyenoord against AZ will also be an interesting match for important points.

First of all just look at how often Ajax have changed managers since Erik ten Hag's departure.

Ajax just couldn't find their way for a really long time.  Sad  But for now things are going pretty well in John van 't Schip's time. Maybe they have finally found the manager who can make up for ten Hag's departure in a similar way who knows. Ajax's recent form in the league is really impressive. However PSV is just a huge threat. I mean you know they lost only 2 points in 18 matches and destroyed Ajax in their previous match in the league. I hope to see Ajax not losing this time.

There is no doubt things were never been idea in first half of this season with in start as Ajax were performing mostly were thinking hardly they could be able to end in top half of the league because nothing positive were happening but change of coach and strategy works for them which bring them to the fifth spot now in next round we have few interesting match first Ajax going to host PSV which is undefeated in this season and then AZ Alkmaar going to host Feyenoord which is another important match which will give how things will be gone in coming weeks.

Even with current situation as Twente and AZ Alkmaar are losing points most chances we will have chance for the Ajax to end at the third spot with end of this season but still this next match is going to have real shape of Ajax that how they will be going into this season are they now able to perform at the top level or still needs more improvements after last five games now we have different between Twente and Ajax of just four points which is interesting with Twente lost 7 points and AZ Alkmaar lost 10 point while Ajax only 2 with this all things are clearly favouring them because if we have things like these in coming ten matches as well then still we will have Ajax at the better spot.
The Eredivise is quite competitive no doubt and consistency works very much for the teams there. It's the second half of the season already and every game counts. PSV and Ajax are doing explicitly well in the league as they've been able to keep up with game victories too. For Alkmaar, they're still yet to be balanced in their performances and it's really taking toll on them and their points on the league table too.

Heerenveen hosted AZ Alkmaar at home.I have to say that it was a strange match. In addition to the own goal scored by both teams in the match, AZ Alkmaar's being reduced to 10 men in the 40th minute is one of the events that affected the match. If AZ Alkmaar had not been reduced to 10 men with a red card towards the end of the first half, maybe the match could have ended differently.
Feyenoord, on the other hand, hosted Twente at home.Although Feyenoord is right behind Twente in the championship race, the points difference is more than PSV.So maybe these 2 teams will be in a competition for 2nd place for the rest of the season.Although Feyenoord found many positions, they failed to score a goal in the match. It was even strange that Feyenoord, who played dominant and well compared to their opponent, could not find a goal.I can say that the penalty missed at the beginning of the second half contributed to the match ending like this.
Most of the time we have surprises and shocking things in soccer but still I feel AZ Alkmaar is lucky which escape this defeat and at the end able to have one point from this match while they were playing with 10 men after having red card by full back Kasius even now Heerenveen is having terrible time with no wins, but things were into their favour while their opponent were playing with 10 men and also have one own goal which was helpful for them to win this match but near the end they concede own goal and give chance to them for having draw in this match.

AZ Alkmaar is having no win in last four games which is clearly indicating now it's time for them to have better things otherwise they are going to suffer consequences which can bring them down with most chances are next game could be again not easy for them because they are going to host Feyenoord.

I had already commented on this, but I will repeat myself because it was a very unbelievable situation, Ajax was at the bottom of the table and I was laughing about it, I remember that I said that it would be an almost impossible mission for Ajax to be able to stay in a position that gave them access to European competitions, but since Ajax brought this coach they started to have visible changes in the way they played and started to have visible positive results, but even though Ajax managed to have visible positive results they still kept looking at the Top of the table as an objective was an almost impossible mission because the points difference was too big

but when I look at the table today I find it funny how the top teams lost points to the point that Ajax is currently very close to catching them, the difference in points with first place is 21 points so I risk saying that it is impossible for Ajax manage to become champions this season but it is not impossible for Ajax to finish in second place, although it will be difficult, because currently Ajax's points difference in relation to second place is 9 points and when we talk about 9 points it only means that It would be enough for Feyenoord to lose in 4 games and Ajax not to lose in any game for us to see Ajax moving into second place, this is still possible to happen. for now ajax needs to move to third position. Congratulations to the Ajax coach

The performance of every club in the league is credited based on the number of points accumulated. Eredivisie is competitive, except you're not acquainted with the league, only then you will consider to be one of the slow league that doesn't compact with streak competitive run for the title. Ajax really fall behind this season, perhaps they have struggled to get back on their heel, it's been a top fight for Ajax this season, probably after losing Mohammed Kudus to Westham United, their struggle begin because I see no reason why a club will sell their keyman and doesn't make good replacement for the played, where is that done?
Ajax have not been at their best performances but they've definitely been winning games and have been consistent to it. Definitely a coach has his own impact in a team, once the head is faulty, there'll always be loopholes.   Every team won't want to loose their kept men and every player that's be free are the ones that weren't so solid for the team. It's quite expensive to get for a team a high valued player no doubt and Ajax management may not likely be up to the task and it's going to be unsafe to settle for a less standard player. Their inconsistency is unhealthy and they just have to find a way to stop the wins from occuring through a narrow means. The coach is good at what he does but he has to improve himself and the team too, once all the necessary characteristics needed are in place, then it'll be an easy ride for Ajax.

PSV's victory yesterday has made their position on the top of the table strengthen keeping them twelve points ahead of the next team immediately behind them at the second position on the table. At this point I can say without doubts that PSV is going to win the eredivisie this season without much stress again as they are already at a point on the table where even if they are relaxed they will still have little or nothing to border over. In yesterdays game, they were very much dominant over their opponent and did performed even much better than their opponent did.

PSV had more possession and goal attempts than Almeria and had more chances to have scored even much more goals than they got in that match, I'd expected they ahd gotten more goals but two goals victory wasn't a bad one.

There is probably not that much value in observing that PSV Einhoven is doing in the Eredivisie these days as I think this championship is already theirs. Sure why not talk about it, but this is is so insanely dominant that it is almost self-explanatory how they played their game in the league... Cheesy I am so excited to see whether they can play on their absolute maximum level in the Champions League as well since it is a different world. But this dominance is out of this world.

What's more interesting is the huge win for Ajax Amsterdam when all other relevant teams ahead of them failed to win their games. This closes the gap between Ajax and position 4 to 9 points, which means that the Champions League qualification could soon become a realistic goal again.
