I agree with you. Ajax is different from Lyon because Ajax was able to rise from adversity and is now competing to get a ticket to the European league next season. I'm not saying the Champions League for Ajax because first and second place almost certainly belong to PSV and Feyenoord. But I believe they have returned to a positive trend now. They managed to win 3 matches and got 2 draws in the last five matches. It was a very good result after a very bad start to the season.
Ajax has got resilience on a different level because they were really poor in their performance earlier such that we almost taught they may not make it to top five this season as they had several losses in a roll, which was really impressive surprising and at same time amazing, I still believe they have gat much more they can do.

It's still very possible Ajax secure a spot for their selves at the champions league by next season, that's absolutely in no doubt especially if they can make it to be in the third or fourth position on the table which is a very possible thing for them, it's clear that PSV is beyond reach at the top of the table already but same does not apply to the third and fourth positions, they are still very much contestable, Ajax is just a few points away from the third position which if they could consistently win their games on a streak, they are definitely going to get there.

I am hopeful for the Ajax to have third spot into league table until end of this season because now every week they are improving their performance and their results are also allowing them to have better chance for this with in last five matches AZ Alkmaar having 3 points and Ajax 11 which cut the deficit and now both are on level Twente having 6 points difference which is surely interesting but if Ajax are able to give their 100% then surely things could be favourable for them, and they will be achieved but how Twente will perform this is also important.

Ajax vs PSV were interesting and both give their best but in second half I believe Ajax were better even they fail to take any advantage, but things are going good for them and their future until end because they are not back in business.
Ajax have not been at their best performances but they've definitely been winning games and have been consistent to it. Definitely a coach has his own impact in a team, once the head is faulty, there'll always be loopholes. It means a lot for a team to get victorious consecutively in a row and for Ajax, that's caused a gradual improvement regardless not doubting that they still have to put in more work.

They've got players no doubt but the squad needs to be better, Ajax is a team better than a narrow win, at the moment though, finding the right player who's top and ready in all areas to give that competitive capacity in both the domestic league and the European leagues will be hard. Their inconsistency is unhealthy and they just have to find a way to stop the losses from occuring through a narrow means. There's still a bit of time for their errors to be reshaped and corrected too.

They have long returned to a positive trend, but this is not the problem that Ajax Amsterdam has at the moment to fix their problems. The main problem they have is that PSV is playing an almost perfect season and that their competitors for the Champions League qualification are not falling for too many issues. Ajax needs to see Feyenoord finish some games with a draw or a loss and then they have to go for it and win their own games. Otherwise this could end in a long-term downtrend.

to catch up with PSV and feyernord is impossible. the difference with PSV is 20 points while the point difference with feyenord is 10 points. the realistic target is the top 3 so that next season can compete in the champion league. position 3 is currently occupied by twente and only 5 points different from ajax amsterdam.

I think that would be absolutely impossible. Feyenoord is 11 points ahead of Ajax. That means Feyenoord must get 4 defeats or 6 draws and Ajax win all their matches in order to catch Feyenoord's points. Even in a situation like that, Ajax is only 1 point ahead of Feyenoord. So I think we can't expect Aajx to compete for a ticket to the Champions League. My expectation is that they can overtake Alkmaar or Twente and get a place in the European league.

I think that at the end of the season, whatever the result will be that Ajax Amsterdam will have achieved by then, they are well advised to look at the season as a whole and what they have actually done coming back from literally the bottom of the table. In France there is Olympique Lyon with so many problems and they are still there trying to defend against slipping into the relegation zone.

I know that nobody thought Ajax could stay in the relegation zone, but still things can become complicated and get worse if they can't get it under control. Ajax Amsterdam was able to turn it around and now they can at least compete for something positive instead of competing against something negative.

Well given how PSV Eindhoven is performing this season, I think a draw against them in any season is not an embarrassment. 63:9 goals is serious performance here, but from Ajax' point of view they just can't afford any more draws if they want to keep their goal alive to play in an international tournament next season.

I admit that I only now noticed that the third position is the Champions League qualification in the Eredivisie... I just wanted to talk about how important it is for Ajax to play internationally because otherwise they wouldn't be able to retain their top talents for some time because they would leave Ajax even earlier then. But if they can play the Champions League, they often decide to stay for a few seasons as Ajax is the perfect club for them to grow and to present themselves in European football. They have two direct qualifiers and one play-off qualifier. I somehow missed that. Still a chance for Ajax then.

I think the third place is still a realistic goal for them as a 6 points gap can be made up for quite quickly and I think they still have the game to play against Twente, which means if they win that game they are in distance to catch them as soon as Twente makes a mistake.

Yesterday I thought if everything plays out perfectly well for Ajax Amsterdam, then they would have won their game against PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord would have lost their game today. Only then I think it would have made sense to still aim at the Champions League qualification, but now that chance is gone unless something wild is about to happen, but I doubt it.

Yes third place is still a realistic position if Ajax can maintain their form, a draw is not an embarrassment against PSV this season, but that only applies to Ajax this season the standards have to be higher.

Ajax winning and Feyenoord drawing would of course have been the optimal option, but not a very realistic one either.

Asides of always you want to win a derby and more when you are the biggest team in the country like Ajax is, this time it was a perfect result for Ajax, because it was a test for them against a super team this season like PSV, with this game you can know where you are really positioned and how good are you.

For Alkmaar, they're still yet to be balanced in theiperformances and it's really taking toll on them and their points on the league table too. They've just got to find a balance and get back to their pace. Their league isn't even as competitive as other European leagues as there are just a few teams that are tough in their play. They can still meet up with points and stay at a good spot on the table too. Congrats to Ajax and PSV, they're good and are growing better gradually regardless of the little loopholes that they're having too.

Alkmaar actually performed quite well at the start of the season. They achieved several wins and placed them in 3rd and 4th place in the standings. But in the last few matches entering the second half they appeared very different. They have never won even once in their last 5 matches. A different situation occurred at Ajax where they were able to achieve positive results when entering the second half of the season. I think these two teams will compete for a place in the Europa League next season.

In today's game I think that Ajax even looked better than PSV, but it wasn't enough to win. And I expected a bit different kind of game from these teams.
If Feyenoord will win tomorrow, reaching 2nd place for Ajax would be like a miracle. Even to reach Twente you hvae to be almost perfect in remaining part of season and expect some poor results from Twente.
AZ - Feyenoord tomorrow, recently AZ perfroming very poorly, Feyenoord is big favorite there.
The Eredivise is quite competitive no doubt and consistency works very much for the teams there. It's the second half of the season already and every game counts. PSV and Ajax are doing explicitly well in the league as they've been able to keep up with game victories too. The second half of the season is very much essential in the league as it's believed that the various team managers will make new and better strategies to increase team's performance too.

For Alkmaar, they're still yet to be balanced in theiperformances and it's really taking toll on them and their points on the league table too. They've just got to find a balance and get back to their pace. Their league isn't even as competitive as other European leagues as there are just a few teams that are tough in their play. Jax managed to recover, I say this because they managed to play against the team at the top of the table and even so Ajax didn't lose and even so Ajax didn't concede many goals. On the contrary, Ajax managed to play a balanced game in which they scored 1 goal, conceded only 1 goal and had 48% of the ball. ajax just needs to continue with this performance and pray that AZ loses in more games so that ajax can stay in position number 4, after occupying position number 4, ajax will have to pray that twente loses in many games and honestly I'm not seeing twente losing in many games, so I see it more realistic for ajax to finish in position 4. but it's still not impossible for ajax to finish in position 3

twente will still have very difficult games ahead, I'm talking about games like against PSV which will be next month, if twente loses in that game then ajax could get very close to twente, then twente will still play against ajax so if twente If you lose points before these two very difficult games then Ajax could finish in position number 3. Now something that I consider extremely difficult, not to use the word impossible, would be to see Ajax finishing in position number 2, I highly doubt that this will happen. In my opinion, PSV will be champion and Feyenoord will be in second place. This is already a lost season for Ajax in terms of winning the title and in terms of getting a place in the European Champions League. but ajax showed great improvements

that looking at these great improvements, I can easily say that next season Ajax will fight to become champions again and will have a greater chance of doing so, of course this will only happen if they don't sell any players and don't dismiss the current coach. I'm wondering what the hell is going on with AZ that in the last 5 games they haven't managed to win in any game, they've had 2 draws and 3 defeats. It's something very bad for them that even ajax, which was much lower in the table, is now catching up to them. This must be a huge disappointment for AZ fans

I agree, the third place is very unlikely, for Ajax the best result today would be a draw between Feyenoord and AZ, but I think Feyenoord will win, then only the third place is within reach for Ajax, but now wait and see how the match ends today, Feyenoord is currently leading by one goal.

If Feyenoord wins, then Ajax will be 11 points behind Feyenoord and that is very high. I've said before that it would be absolutely impossible for Ajax to replace Feyenoord in second place. I said third place is still possible but looking at the current situation it will be a tough task for Ajax. But at least Ajax is better than Alkmaar and I hope they can get fourth place to qualify for the European league qualification because they are indeed more worthy than Alkmaar in my opinion.
Wieffer early goal give lead to visitors in this important match of the Eredivisie where at the end of the first half Feyenoord is leading by 0–1 against AZ Alkmaar with if Feyenoord able to keep this lead and win the match surely they could be able to have strong hold on second spot with 11 points difference from Ajax and 5 points difference from Twente while this could be big setback for AZ Alkmaar as they will be without any win in last five matches.

In first half we have both teams at the same level of performance but a good chance which converted by Feyenoord give them lead and now things are looking good for them, but 45 minutes second half could be also important because both teams are giving their best in this match at the top of the league table.

It came as a surprise, but PSV and Ajax ended in a draw. Actually an unexpected point for Ajax this season.
But Twente also won and gained points against Ajax, Twente would definitely still be within reach, but if Feyenoord win tomorrow, second place will be impossible or very difficult.
Ajax stats this season, 10W 5D 5L. The club's making progress following them missing out on their key players and also not sitting in good position to sign backup players capable of enchanting the performance of the club. PSV shared points with Ajax after much efforts, they couldn't give up but the expected results was denied. Good performance from Ajax. Checking their last 5 previous meetings, PSV have dominated and won them all. Ajax have suffered crucial defeats but they try this time around, holding PSV to a draw tie.
