PSV's victory yesterday has made their position on the top of the table strengthen keeping them twelve points ahead of the next team immediately behind them at the second position on the table. At this point I can say without doubts that PSV is going to win the eredivisie this season without much stress again as they are already at a point on the table where even if they are relaxed they will still have little or nothing to border over. In yesterdays game, they were very much dominant over their opponent and did performed even much better than their opponent did.

PSV had more possession and goal attempts than Almeria and had more chances to have scored even much more goals than they got in that match, I'd expected they ahd gotten more goals but two goals victory wasn't a bad one.

Yes is incredible how it seems like most of the teams in top positions, asides of PSV, are playing in favour of Ajax, right now like guy above me said Ajax in third position at the end of the tournament or more sooner than later is gonna be a reality.

Yes, as you said, even though they have achieved a draw, PSV will not be replaced by any team this season. By getting 18 wins, they have collected 55 points, 12 points ahead of Feyenoord in second place.

There are still several rounds to play, if Ajax continue like this, third place is definitely achievable, but to catch Feyenoord they would have to show an extraordinary performance, and Feyenoord are not to be underestimated and will also score their points.

Should Feyenoord also draw against Twente, it would be a perfect round for Ajax and the chances of third place are no longer improbable. I wouldn't have thought that Ajax still had a chance of finishing third this season. PSV is out of reach for all other teams this season.

As expected! Feyenoord actually drew against Twente. This means Twente is only 4 points ahead of Ajax and 3 points ahead of Alkmaar. Ajax is showing good form and it looks like they will get third place. I really recognize Ajax's hard work and solidity. At the start of the season they were really down but they managed to improve their ranking little by little.

The Eredivise is competitive no doubt and consistency works very much for the teams there. It's winter season and so the teams ought to brace up to gain enough grounds ahead of post winter break. PSV and Ajax are doing explicitly well in the league as they've been able to keep up with game victories too.
For Alkmaar, they're lagging behind and it's really taking toll on them and their points on the league table too.

They've just got to find a balance and get back to their pace. Their league isn't even as competitive as other European leagues as there are just a few teams that are tough in their play. They can still meet up with points and stay at a good spot on the table too. Congrats to Ajax and PSV, they're good and are growing better gradually regardless of the little loopholes that they're having too. The second half of the season may likely take different turn in the league as it's believed that the various team managers will make new and better strategies to increase team's performance too.
The performance of every club in the league is credited based on the number of points accumulated. Eredivisie is competitive, except you're not acquainted with the league, only then you will consider to be one of the slow league that doesn't compact with streak competitive run for the title. Ajax really fall behind this season, perhaps they have struggled to get back on their heel, it's been a top fight for Ajax this season, probably after losing Mohammed Kudus to Westham United, their struggle begin because I see no reason why a club will sell their keyman and doesn't make good replacement for the played, where is that done?

Even we still have 16 rounds left in this season and many changes can happen because still injuries or any other problems can bring serious trouble for any team just because of this prediction is surely not easy but as currently things are going from these three teams Twente, AZ Alkmaar and Ajax all can go through for the third spot but for me still Ajax is strong because now in 19th round we have Feyenoord vs Twente which is surely going to be tough match and in case of lost they can go at fourth and difference could be only 3 points and in case of draw they can stay at the third spot but still difference will be cut which will create problems for them so we can't argue about this all now we have to wait for the few more weeks how things will be gone.

Twente and Alkmaar are in a difficult position due to their form and Ajax have been on a positive trend for some time. The next match between Twente vs Feyenoord I think it will be won by Feyenoord and Alkmaar will beat Heerenveen so Alkmaar will move up to third place. If these two teams do not play consistently then Ajax will take third place in the next few weeks. At first I doubted Ajax's performance but after a few weeks I thought Ajax had indeed returned to the Ajax we know.

Yes I think this season is mostly done for Ajax Amsterdam as they are also eliminated from the KNVB Cup and even if I weren't to assert that miracles are not impossible, I think it is impossible for Ajax Amsterdam to catch up with PSV. But I think that PSV themselves are quite shocked after they gave away their first points in the Eredivisie and right after that game got eliminated from the KNVB Cup themselves. This is certainly bad for any plans they had.

I don't know what Ajax Amsterdam is aiming for, but the biggest of all possible goals would be to catch up with Feyenoord. Ajax has one more game to play against them in the Eredivisie and apart from that can only hope for Feyenoord to drop points.
Ajax have not been at their best performances but they've definitely been winning games and have been consistent to it. Definitely a coach has his own impact in a team, once the head is faulty, there'll always be loopholes. It means a lot for a team to get victorious consecutively in a row and for Ajax, that's caused a gradual improvement regardless not doubting that they still have to put in more work.

They've got players no doubt but the squad needs to be better, Ajax is a team better than a narrow win, at the moment though, finding the right player who's top and ready in all areas to give that competitive capacity in both the domestic league and the European leagues will be hard. Every team won't want to loose their kept men and every player that's be free are the ones that weren't so solid for the team.

It's quite expensive to get for a team a high valued player no doubt and Ajax management may not likely be up to the task and it's going to be unsafe to settle for a less standard player. Their inconsistency is unhealthy and they just have to find a way to stop the wins from occuring through a narrow means. The coach is good at what he does but he has to improve himself and the team too, once all the necessary characteristics needed are in place, then it'll be an easy ride for Ajax.

I am also expecting changes but not too many as just Ajax will be entered into top three with remaining two teams Twente and AZ Alkmaar will be gone to fourth and fifth because other teams have not enough quality and potential to challenge teams which are ruling at top five spots for the years now in next round we will have Feyenoord vs Twente which is surely going to benefit the AZ Alkmaar and Ajax in case of drop points from any team.
Ajax having the worst time in first half of this season, and now it's good time for them to recover and go at their usual spot PSV is clearly having good difference of points which is not easy to recover for any team specially for the teams which are currently at the third and lower spots

I may be a little different from you. I agree and I think everyone also agrees that PSV is in first place and Feyenoord is in second place. Third place will belong to Twente or Ajax. And Alkmaar will get fifth position. But I put Twente in third place because they are quite strong and have a 6 point difference with Ajax. Even though Ajax has shown improved performance compared to the first half of the season, I think Twente is also a strong team to get third place.

In the second half of the season there are many surprises that occur. For the first time this season PSV achieved a draw in the League after finishing 17 matches with a win. Twente surprisingly lost to NEC. Alkmaar experienced a decline in form and Ajax have rediscovered their best form. There are many changes that will occur in the second half of the season. But I think first and second place will still belong to PSV and Feyenoord. Ajax will probably surpass Alkmaar and they will compete with Twente for third place.

PSV's dropping of point isn't appearing to be as a surprise but I didn't expect it with as small team as Utrecht because PSV played much better in that game, even had more chances much better than Utrecht did, Utrecht was lucky after which they safeguarded their goal. It's okay to drop point at a time because you can't stay 100% throughout the season, PSV still have a very good distance away from the team at the second position with about 10points difference so they are still very safe even with the draw gotten against Utrecht, Ajax's improvement is definitely getting them somewhere before the end of the season.

It's very much possible Ajax gets to the third position on the table because they have been able to maintain a good winning record of which if the still maintain they can get to the third position soon but getting to the first is almost impossible this season.

PSV Eindhoven had to finally break their good run.By good run, I mean that they lost their winning streak.PSV drew 1-1 away to Utrecht in the league and thus suffered their first point loss in the league. We cannot say that they played better than their opponent because Utrecht played just as well to win.Utrecht stopped their opponent's winning streak and got an important 1 point for themselves and for the other teams in the championship race.
Ajax, on the other hand, have continued their recovery in recent weeks. They had a bad start to the season but they have managed to turn it around with wins in recent weeks. With this win, they have been undefeated for 10 weeks.
Dropping of points were expected so happen it's not surprising for anyone with still they are having good difference of points from second spotted team by 10 points and their consistency and quality is impressive which will keep them at the top and title is surely going to be belonged them in this season, but now we have another interesting talk like Ajax can break into top three which is possible because they are doing impressive performance in last few games and now their difference of points from Feyenoord is also 11 points and from Twente is just 6 points which is currently at the third spot and losing points consistently which is going to be helpful for the Ajax with AZ Alkmaar is also badly struggling which is going to be helpful for the Ajax and most chances we will have them at the third spot and others have to go for the fourth and fifth spots.

How far it seems that magical Ajax who put nearby to a miracle in Champions League, if that Lucas Moura goal never came they can be played that final.

We are gonna see again some Netherland team making something like that again in the short term? I dont think so, this PSV is really good but not that good.

Yes, Ajax really had a great run in the 2021/2022 season. However their biggest win streak was only 7 matchesSmiley

Thanks, but it doesn't look like it or I haven't found the sorted function yet.

Anyway, Ajax had their best season in 2020/21 (I think) with a total of 88 points and 102 goals, that season was impressive. But PSV also had 88 points in 2014/15, have they ever had more points?

PSV dropped points for the first time this season with the draw. Ajax are now slowly getting back into form and have caught up with AZ with another win, if Twente and AZ continue to drop points I don't think it's impossible that Ajax could still finish third after this bad start to the season, would have been unthinkable a few games ago.

Which page did you look at? Two years ago Ajax also had an exceptional season.

The record of 17 straight wins also belonged to PSV in 1988. PSV were about to improve this record by reaching 18 wins this time but Utrecht didn't let them. It must be a little sad for the team to miss such record by inches but there is no problem for them anyway. Because Feyenoord are like 10 points behind.  Grin

I did a quick search and found this. Ok this means PSV Eindhoven can break the record with the next game if they win it. A draw would not break the record if we take the goal difference into account, which would be appropriate to be as precise as possible here. But it is amazing to see these numbers.
