Maybe some new leadership was all they needed. Because m0nesy had always been a good player. So it was really disappointing to see how they were dropping in performance as a team for the last 6 months. Not winning much of anything since the new source came out.
Let's hope they are on the right track now with Stewie2k at the helm or was he just a temporary fix to get over this hump for their premiere title in CS2?
That's what I also thought when Stewie stood in for G2, the change of pace probably gave them the push to play this well.

Regardless of the success, it's unlikely for them to bring Stewie in because he wasn't that much of an upgrade over Hooxi and I think it's just the other players from the side of G2 stepped up big time during this tournament. Also, they're lucky that a couple of good teams suddenly underperformed like Mouz and Faze.

Let's go G2! This team deserve this final and they deserve to lift the trophy at the end of the day! It's currently 1-0 with 2nd map on the way on Anubis with 7-5 for Vitality but it's well known that G2 loves to play this map  and they made some crazy comebacks this year on Anubis so don't count them out yet.
G2 Esports win the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024 trophy with an MVP level performance from m0nesy amd Stewie2k!

G2 have won their first CS2 title of 2024 playing without in-game leader HooXi.

I thought there wouldn't be team representing the Philippines at the Riyadh Masters 2024 Dota 2, but luckily Blacklist made comeback against Talon. Talon won game 1, 0-1. Fortunately, Blacklist won games 2 and 3. If it had gone differently, Dota 2 fans in the Philippines would be disappointed at the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2024. If Blacklist International had lost, there would be no player or team from the Philippines at the Riyadh Masters 2024. Aurora is also really strong because of 23(savage). For me, he is still the best carry in SEA, no one can beat him.

I don't understand what was done with Dota 2 at all. So far I don't have time to look at the matches and how the teams have adapted to the new balance, but after playing yesterday I was terrified.
The game has changed so much that I have a feeling that I need to learn to play again.
That's fine, you just have to play again and get familiarized with the facet every picking time. The details are there and you have to read and understand what it says for your hero.

The creators of the Dota with similar patches have an interesting style of changes. But this is a problem for those who rarely play.
I know right but it is needed to balance the game and we don't just see one hero dominates the patch or teams dominate the tournaments time after time.

Just enjoy the game and if it seems too difficult to you nowadays, test them with AI just for the familiarization.

I don't follow e-sports very much except Riot Games games (Valorant and LoL). However after the CS2 question on BSFL I started to follow the CS2 tournament in Dallas. It is really very fun to make bets on e-sports. I bet on FaZe yesterday. They fell behind after I bet on them but they managed to make a comeback.

I assume that waiting for the odds of the favourite e-sports teams to increase is a good tactic. Cheesy
Nice grab earlier in the tournament there @CLS63 !
Because now we have Team Vitality vs G2 Esports in the IEM 2024 Dallas Finals!
Believe that G2 blanked their opponents in 9z so it was a no contest there.

Your suggestion on waiting for the odds to increase before placing a bet could be a better strategy in CS2 since the game format of MR12 was introduced:

source: https://www.reddit.com/r/cs2/comments/15t5f8a/someone_give_me_a_legitimate_reason_why_mr12_is_a

I do like Valorant and just wish there were more tournaments available so the interest would be at the same level CounterStrike has had over the past two decades.

Meanwhile , this Riyadh qualifiers looks very suspect right ? trows over trows , teams who line up a team just to compete for this ( bald reborn per example ) and losing dramatically or winning out of nowhere and so on.
What's with this? what region is Bald Reborn playing? I'm trying to look for them but I haven't seen them. But I get it about these qualifiers and some throws here and there can happen just to secure some slots and whichever amount they get after the RM, they'd probably share. We don't know, if ESL will do some investigations about it and finds out that they're being cheated through selling games one after another, they'd for sure going to get banned and they are not going to like that. IMO, it's just so crazy when some twists happens but every team wants to get their share with the $5M prize pool.

I've tried to place 2 bets in South America last night and I will never ever trow money in anonymous teams.
It's best to avoid regions that you have no idea who are playing. Although Kpii's stack is there and they're able to qualify for the close qualifiers, I think if it's with the open's, I wouldn't bet there. But with the closed qualifiers, I am more familiar with the teams that are participating there. And if you don't want that much stress at all, get a closer look at the NA region, not that much participants and only 4 teams so 1 slot for them and it is likely that Shopify Rebellion will get it as they're offlaner was replaced from Saberlight to mind_control. While on EEU and WEU, they're the toughest regions IMO and next is China.

Bald Reborn tried their luck in MENA region in closed qualifiers but lost in first game.

Yea , I will avoid SA from now on because players are changing teams from one week to another and that makes every bettors to be confused.
I see, I've seen that they've tried there and missed them when I was looking for it. SA is just like any other region right now. When they are not successful with their run, they are going to reshuffle their roster and think that they'd be better with that. So, it's probably the best thing to avoid when you don't like that kind of gesture for some certain teams there. But just as said, it's just best to avoid a region that you don't follow. It's best to follow the ones that I have mentioned because competition is really there.

Meanwhile , I'm so mega happy with G2 being in semi-finals and beating Faze 2-0. This team deserves a trophy and Niko deserves to lift it <3.
I haven't followed CS2 lately but looks interesting that G2 is going to faze 9z Team. Good luck to both of them or should I say for the all 4 teams remaining.

As boltz mentioned, they signed up in the MENA quals but fell short against V-Tune's stack (Night Pulse). The region qualifier over there is like a free-for-all with EU and SEA teams trying to snag a spot for the closed qualifiers.
Yeah, MENA seems to be a f-f-a region nowadays. When Team Falcons aren't there and already qualified for good tournaments, they're just going to transfer their IPs or have a boot camp there to get qualified with ESL organized tournaments and they're going to have bigger chance of participating these tournaments. But I think that PSG.Quest will get that slot easy and not having a problem at all, or maybe some hope with Nigma. It's been a while since we've seen them.

Intel Extreme Masters Dallas we have our semi-finalists in the tournament facing off with eachother in about 4 hours then later on in the day.
Team Spirit vs Vitality
9z vs G2

Knew Spirit would of made it if they got their heads on straight and actually performed better than they actually have been as of late. But Magixx had mentioned this in his last interview with them being knocked out at Dacha.

Haven't heard much out of 9z because I have been out of the CounterStrike scene for a couple of months due to other sports and travels. But it seems they have performed well enough for a spot in the tournament going up against a formable G2 team,

Congratulations to Kuku's stack but they're now under the organization of TNC Predator. Now, the teams for the closed qualifier for the SEA region are complete.

Tomorrow, we're going to see the playoffs and this is just a quick one and it's for the qualifier for the Riyadh Masters.

The first team that TNC is going to face is Aurora. Do you think that they have what it takes to beat them on a best-of-3 series?

I think they don't stand a chance against Aurora line-up but I'm glad to see TNC Predator in Dota 2 pro scene once more and I'm sure Kuku's fan enjoy it as well because we know he is mega popular in South Asia.

They've lost against Aurora and moved down to lower bracket. And TNC won against Execration, now, they're against Bleed Esports after Bleed got eliminated by Talon Esports a while ago.

There is no doubt that Kuku has a huge fan base in South East Asia.

And speaking of lower bracket, it is likely that they're going to be against Blacklist International later on.

Overall its probably due to the new patch so some teams could be still figuring things out while the other teams had already figured it out so yeah lots of unexpected outcome could happen in low tier games/qualifiers. Probably in another 2-3 weeks, we might already seen few teams getting it handled but for now gotta bear with this lame results from few teams

Yep this is literally what I had on my mind and yet Valve gave them 2 slots for TI qualifiers. I'd rather let EEU have another slot if they dont intend to make a new region ( MENA )

Another final with Falcons winning 3-0 but this time it was against Gaiming Gladiators who didn't manage to win a single map besides the fact that they picked Wraith King in 2 maps ( the most broken hero of current patch ) and yet couldn't win. I'm personally tired of Falcons already and hopefully they will not continue this streak because the fans were unhappy today with current situation of Dota 2 and how only 3 teams manage to reach finals and only one of them is winning...so yea , Dota 2 should be a game of variety and not dedicated for just 1 team when they make a new patch.
They wouldn't win if they pick the most broken hero because the teams that would be going up against those broken heroes are going to find a way to counter them or at least remove other heroes that will synergize with them, that's why they're professional at what they do, they look at what's broken at the current meta and then they try and find the weaknesses to hopefully counter it in the case that they're not able to pick it. I'm not keeping up with the current meta of the game but if that's what you said is true, I think that it's probably time for other teams to be investing in their players because if you want to get the really good ones, you should be willing to shell out a lot of money to get the good teams, I mean it would be weird if you complain about this kind of thing and then you don't invest on getting the really good players when oftentimes, it's all a matter of how huge the offer is compared to the other teams, it would be a good news for the players if this ever happens or if that's not the case, I guess they just need to get good at how they play and learn to synergize with their teammates.
Didn't know the latest patch would have as a significant impact especially during tournament play that it had.
The following article explains in detail what it improved upon as you had mentioned:
https://blast.tv/dota/news/dota-2-patch-736a

Also congratulation to @CLS63 on that solid win in what has been a difficult to predict one so far for the IEM tournament in Dallas.
Best strategy in my opinion is to bet live such as you did because doing it prematch is probably one of the worst things that I have done betting on CS2 which have cost me several good betslips in the past.

Congrats on winning your Faze bet during their series against VP, i'd assume you got those live odds after they lost on VP's map pick. Catching good live odds is always a good strategy, you can even catch bigger odds if you can time it correctly during the mid-rounds.

Team Spirit are looking like dark horses of the tournament with their win against NaVi earlier and currently playing FaZe clan.
I remember they're one of the favored teams (top 2-3) to win the tournament based on the outright odds, so the bookies knew they'd have a deep run.

I'd say 9z is the real dark horse of this tournament, no one expected them to top Group B beating Mouz and Vitality.
