The IEM Brazil qualifiers are underway and among the matches played, ence is trailing 1-0 in the ence-honoris match, while the match between Heet and BNE / Monte and BIG is down to the last map. When I look at the teams in the closed qualifier, ence and big teams should normally get a ticket to iem Brazil, but some teams seem to have the potential to surprise. Let's see who can do what according to the progress of the matches.

Another visa issue for a team, it's from PSG.LGD and that's their off laner. The Chinese name that I don't know how to read but let's just say his position, the pos 3 from the team.
Because of the visa issue, he will no longer attend the Lima major and then he'll be replaced with a stand-in and that's old eleven who is also a great off laner from their region.
That's unfortunate as they could receive a penalty if they somehow get a good placement and secure a bunch of DPC points at the end of the tournament.
Yeah, that's a 20% reduction for the accumulated DPC points that they have or will they have on Lima major. Another news folks with our favorite Team Secret.
And that is Resolut1on might be out of the team as he had hinted on the Twitch chat. I've just seen it somewhere and someone has shared it but cannot find some official news about it. But, we might see some news about it pop out within a day or two.
Too many changes are about to happen to Team Secret and that's for sure since they didn't have a good run with the start of the DPC season.

Good luck to all our bets.
Smooth win coming from G2 as expected.  Cheesy

Playoffs will start on the weekend so I guess I'll switch to some LCK for now. Sandbox + T1 match winner @1.61 would be the safest play here but i'd like to go with a value play on BRO +1.5 since T1 prefer to experiment and troll causing them to drop a few maps against teams that are in the middle of the standings.

That is too bad. The substitute is quite good, I am sure they will be fine in the tournament. It is just bad that they will lose some DPC points just because of visa issues. Hopefully, no other teams are affected by visa issues. It is a Major, I am sure fans want to see the teams battle it out in full power with their rosters intact.
Yeah, they'll be fine but again another player has exerted effort in the qualifiers and then managed to get the slot but would only end up with the visa issue. Valve should do something about this and help those qualifying teams and players to get ahead with the obstacle of dealing with this issue.

So someone from China got visa denied by Lima, that feels so weird though but I guess China's passport isnt as strong as their economy. Well he is a decent player that played for Xtreme Gaming but the current PSG.LGD is pretty good with their original roster though so taking someone out of the equation might affect their gameplay somehow.
I haven't read any accurate reason why his visa got rejected. But the sad thing with this is, this is becoming the battles of the players who are qualified in majors or minors if it's going to happen somewhere.

I lose this bet today. My parlay was broken by the matches of FNATIC and FAZE. FNATIC lose very poorly on the 3rd map, Overpass. They played too poorly that they only got 3 rounds in the entire map. I thought there will not be an upset tonight but even Faze lose to Team Liquid.

But as an individual, they have to do something when the situation isn't favorable on them and as you've said, has to be self sufficient. I'm seeing those type of carries and that's why I guess many of those good carries are easily being scouted and offered to transfer to another team.

I think what will be the most valuable asset of acquiring ramzes is the discipline and his experiences.

True, his experiences would surely matter to whichever team he will go to. But he really needs to learn the way of the new generation of carries. Watching the likes of Yuragi, Skiter, Yatoro, etc. you'll see that these guys know how to play the farming and fighting game simultaneously. Gone are the days of carries racing to the highest net worth. You just have to be involved in many fights, and that's what I haven't seen in Ramzes when he was a carry back then.
I couldn't agree more.

Since meta changes, old carries are becoming rusty and a carry like him that has transitioned to another position playing it for years have also made him quite rusty.

He really has to learn from the carries right now that are certainly, without a doubt can be said as one of the best carries out there curently.

Well, before, the basis of how a good carry is on how quick he is in farming. But right now, it's all about how to give himself space when they're not doing well and also capitalizing the situation if they're the ones that's leading the game.

For today's match I'm expecting an upset from Complexity against Mouz. The odds (2.80) is attractive IMO considering Mouz just lost to OG yesterday. As for the favorites, I'm placing a parlay on Liquid and Heroic for 2.64 odds.
These two bets turned out to be a win Cheesy

Missed the first two games for today. I'll just put a parlay on G2 and FaZe. This should be a realtively safe bet.

I think the same. Navi has great improvement in this tournament but G2 is really killing it right now. Monesy has improved a lot during his stay with G2 and he is getting better and better as an AWPer.
Yeah G2 is easily the favourite right now. Their performance in 2023 has been flawless and seeing how they take down FaZe yesterday, I'm thinking this is their best chance to win a Katowice title. Not even sure who can match them at this point with Heroic looking shaky since Blast Premier.

Looking forward to the match between G2 and NaVi later today, I got my bet ready on G2 @1.51 I get that NaVi is slowly improving but I still think they're not ready to go against G2.

I do not think there will be an upset tonight so I made a parlay solely on the favorites for tonight's matches.

Good luck to all our bets.

Is anyone watching IHC vs FaZe? Good back and forth and I think this is the most hyped game of the day. IHC is performing really well against top 10 teams very recently, and they're making FaZe look like not a tier 1 team.
Faze still got things done though, IHC might've been eliminated but they had a good run this tournament and stunned a few good teams.

Hit my parlay bet with the matches in Group in earlier. Outsiders was able to keep their bid alive by eliminating NIP. They will be against OG later for the Lower Bracket semifinal. Since they are showing signs of resilience, I am going to bet on them again later.

A team like Faze are organized and composed enough to allow their enemy team enough rope to hang themselves with.  Every round loss helps build up a bonus to come back with, so to some extent even a team intending to win every map will allow their opponent some victories before ending their leeway and tightening the map into a win.
Or to put it simply a #3 world class team will play with its food a bit like a cat with a mouse, because they can and I think in a way it makes the victory more likely not play to your full strength all the time.
I would like to bet IHS on long odds but also close it as they improved during the match to secure that profit.   Im not often around with the timing to play that kind of bet so ideally, the handicap bets can be good in this respect perhaps.

I do not think they are playing with their food. It is more like they are waiting to switch to the stronger side and dominate their opponents there. Though Faze is at the top of the world ranking, they are shaky in the latter part of 2022. I bet they cannot risk that if they faze a stronger opponents like G2 or Navi later in the tournament.

I was able to watch the Inferno map a bit. I can say that I was quite surprised by what IHC did, they pushed well to a point, the score was going to be a draw. Twenty-third rounds later, FaZe left the first map behind with 16-11 wins in a row. The name that made the biggest impact was in IHC, Annihilation beat Broky a few times and contributed to a good team. IHC couldn't do anything on the Ancient map, but they put up a good resistance on the first map.
[/quote]

Ancient is not IHC's map pick anyway, but they did put up a fight in Inferno. Never knew these guys until now and I have to say I'm impressed with Annihilation's AWPing skills. Might not be the best currently but he's fast and slick with it. Some of the rounds, he entry frags with AWP and that's not something that you see everyday. Their rotations and retakes are kinda clunky but if they continue playing at a high level, they can develop these as time goes on.

I didn't really like the way Ramzes plays carry as he's quite inconsistent, and hopefully Secret changes that inconsistency into something worthwhile for him and the team.
With what I've watched on him before, I've got no problems with him on that position and have been idolizing him. But let's see that, there will be for sure new adjustments again.

If you watched him back then, you'll see that he's explosive when guarded by supports most of the laning phase, but kinda falls out when he's left behind. Now a lot of carries that you see are self-sufficient, and can create space for themselves when the going gets rough. Haven't seen that in Ramzes in his carry days so I beg to differ.
Yes, you're right. I remember that there have been matches that he's not that explosive at all and really has to rely on the team. The carries(pos 1) are also upgrading their game plays and won't just have to be reliant to their whole team.

But as an individual, they have to do something when the situation isn't favorable on them and as you've said, has to be self sufficient. I'm seeing those type of carries and that's why I guess many of those good carries are easily being scouted and offered to transfer to another team.

Lots of interesting matches in IEM Katowice today. Obviously, the match of the day will be G2 vs FaZe. Both teams looking strong and haven't lost a single match in 2023, topping their own group in BLAST Premier last week, so I expect this to be a close one.

The rest of the matches will likely be one-sided: Heroic should take on Complexity easily, the same as Cloud9 vs IHC, and Outsiders vs Fnatic.

Both Heroic and FNATIC matches went to a full series. They are both playing their 3rd map on Overpass. FNATIC currently leading with 9-6. FNATIC is playing very disciplined CS.
Yeah, I didn't expect that, especially IHC's 2-0 upset against Cloud9. Must be tough for them to get eliminated by IHC as both maps went on to the full 30 rounds (16-14). Curious about how high IHC's ceiling is, we'll see how they will perform against FaZe tomorrow.

FaZe currently taking a beating against G2 in Ancient, 10-5. Broky, as usual, is spearheading the offensive for FaZe. Lots of good rounds for this man but simply isn't enough to convert it to wins due to G2's tight positioning on the map. Rooting for G2 but FaZe can probably get this map if they continue that great rotation of theirs.
Yep, G2 played really well. With this kind of performance, I'm sure they will take down NaVi in the Group A upper final.

For today's match I'm expecting an upset from Complexity against Mouz. The odds (2.80) is attractive IMO considering Mouz just lost to OG yesterday. As for the favorites, I'm placing a parlay on Liquid and Heroic for 2.64 odds.

Does anyone like Vitality ML @1.56 vs Fnatic? I don't trust the other teams playing later today since I think the odds of the other series should be more closer than 65-35. OG vs Heroic over 2.5 maps would've been a solid option if only their series was scheduled at the end of the day. I have no choice but to skip that series since I have this dota bet going on at the same time that series starts.

I am not taking part of that action but I am betting on these instead.

NIP vs Outsiders

I liked how Outsiders played yesterday. If they can carry that type of play against NIP, they have a chance to win this series.

Heroic vs OG

Heroic is just playing really good and I do not think OG can win against them.

Dude, Daxak of HellRaisers helped the team to get qualified to the Lima major and then he'll be out for the Lima major and will be replaced by either ILTW or V tune. I don't know with these teams, why they're acting with the change of a player when they've been already qualified.
Too many players have experienced this shit even before, they helped their respective teams qualify for a major and then they'll be kicked out.
There's should be more than the policy that Valve should impose on this and must be on locked roster until the major finishes. A 20% reduction for the DPC points for the team isn't enough, there's should be a care for the mental health of the kicked players because they've got their contribution to the team's success during qualifiers.
