Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks

I still choose eth than ltc when it comes to long term investment because ethereum has a good credibility in the market for the past few years so it's a good thing because it is proven and tested as a good coin for long term investment .

I vote on ETH, though litcecoin looks good and it looks like it will work in the future. I just can't deny that the Ethereum blockchain is the future and so many big companies are adapting it to their services. The price of Ethereum will cost a lot in the future.

for me is ethereum in the long term better that ltc. although ethereum is not as old as litecoin, it seems that it already has more users.

It seems to me that you need to have in your portfolio and one and the other coin, because you will never guess what will grow stronger. I think the ether is more reliable

For a long term, I would advise investing in another coin, for example in EOS.  This coin has good potential.

If I choose between these coins, I would advise investing in ETH for a long term.  I think the price for LTC will not grow very much.

I think now investing in eth for long time is the right choice. Now eth price is 500$ but after 5-6 months it will be $1000.Eth or Ltc I think eth is the right choice because it has a great platform. Also Eth is called next bitcoin.

ETH and LTC, in my opinion, is a good coin to be resistant in the long run. But of the two, the more feasible to hold in the long run is LTC. Because it will take a long time to get results from LTC. While with ETH in a shorter time too, you can get results from ETH. Because the growth of ETH is done consistently, and growth is also quite a good percentage.

I believe that investing in one coin is stupid, diversify risks , and invest not in 1-2, but at least 5-10 fundamental coins. Of course if you have more than $100.

Last year I bought Litecoin for 72$ and sold it for 300$. Also I bought Ethereum for 300$ and sold it for 720$. I think this year these coins will bring me good profit again.

Investing in ethereum which is ETH means more value and more profits for me.ETC is the original chain and its already great but, new icos and new projects are using the second version of ethereum and thats the reason making ethereum a well known coin and a destination of investors so, i will prefer eth more than classic eth.

If for the long term I think you should take the ETH, because usually in ico everyone will use the gas from eth to sell the token ERC20. That way ETH is more effective for long term because the market is active every time.

In between ETH and LTC I will choose ETH only for long term. It is the second coin based on market cap and some people believe that it may replace bitcoins in future.

For me i will go for Ethereum for long term, because i know Ethereum is a promising coin and Ethereum will lead the crypto in the future.. I read some predictions in Ethereum, and it will pump this year 2018. So it is good to buy Ethereum now. Smiley

This is a very difficult question, because during the past few years, both LTC and ETH has given higher returns, when compared to BTC. So it is difficult to chose one over the other. Both of them have their own advantages.

Ethereum or litecoin long term. Hmmmmm, both are really a cool cool but as for me i will prefer to choose etherum than to go for litecoin. I believe that etherum will be our next rated Best coin.

They are both good coins to hold for the long term, but for the way that both of the projects are going now then there is no debate that ethereum is the best altcoin for you to put your money in if you ever want to make as much as possible in the long term. It is the project that is most likely to last the longest in the market.

Yes, both Ethereum and Litecoin are both long term investment but sometimes ethereum pumps, and we cannot predict any price in the future, it is all depend on the marketplace, if it will pump or dump.
