I think ETH is more promising because it's a whole unique system while LTC is kinda fork of BTC.
Ofcourse there is only one option - Ethereum.
Ethereum as a platform for almost all ICOs has a huge potential.
Litecoin in opposite is in trouble nowadays, i have no ideas how it can "outrun" ETH.

Both Litecoin and Ethereum are altcoins with a very promising future. I prefer Ethereum, but the LTC is also a strong and correct bet on the crypto market

You are right and Ethereum is more popular, than ever. But we should not scratch Litecoin so easy IMO. I have invested in both and think that both coins have a great future ahead and will grow bigger.
Why do you say that eth is going nowhere. If it is true, then ltc is also not going anywhere. Ethereum has better usecase and acceptability than ltc. So I think eth will always grow better than ltc. What does litecoin really do?
Both coins are potential coins to hold but they preferable is ETH, ETH is they leading altcoin with a very large potential to lead in they crypto market making it they next coin after bitcoin

I don't think litecoin has a great potential like the potential of ethereum. But if you have some capital to invest in this two, I recommend that you should choose both. Because I think this little diversifying can be very profitable for you.
Eth is Awesome but to many people want to rule it. That is causing unnecessary disagreements and disputs. Nobody know where this "war" could lead.
Ltc is not so useful it is "Just" a currency that is already used around the world. It is lighter than btc in all aspects.
But if btc Will not rise in price No alt Will rise really high in price to usd. So you could divide your dep in these there coins and small part for the other alts from top20 for example)

Ethereum is one of the most stable coin so far also the developer doing hardworks to make the block chain more better. But LTC is slowly combing up after that huge drop last year so both are good long term investment but we chose to two I better pick ETH.
In my opinion ETH is more strong and more popular than LTC, but both actually good for longterm investment. For a long term i think that ethereum is much more convicent than litecoin.
LTC is a very stabled coin. It was growing gradually when the bitcoin price was very good. You can't ignore both of them. The ETH and LTC both are very god crypto for the long-term investment. But If I have to go through a comparison between them then I will pick ETH for a long-term investment. Though both coins depend on bitcoin up and down. If bitcoin can hit 40K USD then I think ETH will hit 5k USD and LTC may hit 1K USD.
Ethereum is the most promising coin to date. I have already invested in ethereum. But I have not invested in LTC yet but I think it is a very good coin that can bring good profit. As soon as I have the funds, I will definitely invest them in LTC.
In my opinion, ethereum is already a big competitor of bitcoin. It has a great potential and growth potential. I can not see exactly the same potential on litecoin, but I think it is one of the best of the altcoins of the crypto world.

I have more faith in the success of ETH, so I would advise investing in ETH and holding coins for a long term.
I also believe in ethereum more, but when investing in crypto currency, you should never neglect diversification. Therefore, I would prefer to invest for example 70% of funds in, and 30% in litecoin (if we choose only from ethereum and litecoin).

I don't think Litecoin is a good investment for long term as currently it is nothing but a bitcoin clone with not much development happening. Also with coins like Nano which have instant and fee less transactions I don't think coins like Litecoin will be able to survive.
