ethereum remains the best choice for the long term. we can see from year to year if ethereum will be the most potential coin of any coin and this has been proven now.
the comparison of these two coins I think is not so big. its development has been very good in recent years. but, I prefer to have ETH compared to LTC. besides because of its potential, I think the most sensitive in price increases is ETH. so, having more ETH will be better.

Naturally, there are many good cryptos that exist now and that will grow in several months but the guy wants to choose between LTC and ETH. My advice is Ethereum.

LTC is not bad idea but I prefer to trust ethereum. Even now when I see that price is not so great I am holding it and waiting for better time

ethereum made a big jump today. if you would bought it last month you would do plus 10 percent. i think this could be the reason:
https://coindoo.com/jp-morgan-gave-ethereum-a-huge-thumbs-up/
"The bank has made it known that it is seriously committed to the development of Quorum — a product they defined as “an enterprise-focused version of Ethereum.” JP Morgan has plans to make tokenization of the gold bars its has in its custody one of the main uses of Quorum platform."

Nowadays, people always say the "will Ethereum die ? -will Ethereum hit the 100 dollar ?". I dont think that ethereum will die. People saw big falling and after that I saw 5-10 times bitcointalk topic about ethereum-die. You can buy ethereum or Litecoin for long-term. These are good choices dont worry.

I dont know it is a tough choice, LTC is a pure cryptocurrency while ETH is a platform for contracts, not a currency. A little like comparing apples to oranges.
I think both between ethereum and litecoin are good for long-term investments but if talking about ethereum it might be superior to litecoin, again it all depends on the choice of each person who must have a bright future

Can you consider litecoin as a currency if there was no any legal support for that? litecoin is the same as ethereum and it was including on the altcoin. Litecoin just focus to build a payment system with a better scalability than bitcoin so far it can be called as alternative to the bitcoin.

Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks
BitCoin and other crypto currencies, which will then be more popular of all, and which will be recognized by the entire World community as the main cryptographic currencies from all available at that time.

if I personally I would prefer to choose to invest in ethereum, because I strongly believe that ethereum is better and has a greater chance of investing than LTC for the future. This is just a personal opinion, because everyone must have their own opinions.

Do not compare these cryptocurrencies as they are absolutely different. My recommendation: hold both of them, but do not limit your choice only with ETH and LTC.

Ethereum ,  Nearly everybody anticipates that eth will reach above $1000 or notwithstanding achieving it's unequaled high before this year closes. We've seen eth hold fast around $200 these previous weeks and the greater part of us are confident that the bullrun will begin soon.

In my opinion, the Litecoin just better than Ethereum for long term. So, I would prefer to buy LTC and such other lite alts now.

I think on the contrary, it is precisely for the long term that ethereum is better because of the large number of devs. which supports ethereum, when many tokens skyrocket, it will have an increase in ethereum usage, this is different because litecoin only works alone.

I think both Ethereum and Litecoin are great altcoins that are worth investing your money for long-term.
But if I were to choose between the two altcoins I'm going to choose Litecoin because it is more stable than ethereum.

ethereum is better than litecon in long term. i trust their team and project. i hope it will reach to 1000 in short term

You will  be all good invested in any of these two top coins so have both in your wallet. LTC should outperform ETH due to its smaller marketcap.
I do see a very tough contest between the two altcoin and would love to invest in both of them for long term. ETH and LTC have been there in the priority list of almost all the investors due to high probability of attaining worth unlike other coins.

Though I prefer the technology of Ethereum which almost everybody out there would agree upon with but in the long term, both of these Litecoin can be instrumental in enabling you make the maximum which further is a function of the demand for them. The more the demand rises, the more the profit for you increase.

if you see the fluctuations of the two coins on the market, then I am sure that ethereum's character is more profitable to be used as a long-term investment compared to litecoin
And why exactly do you think ETH is more profitable from the chart? They look very similar. the only difference I can see is, that ETH rise was less sudden (LTC looks like a gigantic pump), but then after in the bear market ETH also falls deeper (below the original price)...
I can't see a clear pattern here on why to prefer one over the other  Huh Roll Eyes Huh

Both the coins are great but I prefer Ethereum for long term as the coin is much more well accepted in the financial market. Ethereum has now been adopted by bug companies like Microsoft, Intel, JP Morgan.
Ethereum also has better statistics of profit returns.
Another thing about the coin is that it is not just an investment asset but can also be used as a token for smart, decentralised applications.
Ethereum is a great coin to invest in with a bright future.
